LadyKin Affinitic Whitening Moisturizer - Value $5
Subscribers receive one of two samples in adorable mini snail jars. I received the Affinitic Whitening Moisturizer, which is formulated with yam extract, pine leaf extract, cypress extract, and green tea extract to provide brightening, pore care, sebum care, soothing, and moisturizing properties. FYI, in most cases for Asian beauty, "whitening" refers to brightening or evening out skin tone, not bleaching of the skin.
The gel-like cream is thick so I use it as the very last step of my nighttime routine. It leaves a slightly tacky finish but doesn't feel uncomfortable. I will definitely use up this sample and repurpose the snail.
LadyKin Green Harmony Mask Pack in Pumpkin - Value $3
Subscribers receive one of five mask packs. I received the Pumpkin mask, which moisturizes, nourishes, and provides deep hydration. The pumpkin extract is rich in nutrients, vitamins, and antioxidants, plus it contains natural enzymes to help remove dead skin cells.
The consistency is like yogurt. After washing it off, my face was not super hydrated but it did feel baby soft and smooth. I got two uses out of the container.
Hongik Skin Aqua O2 Bubble Foam Cleanser - Value $21.99
This is a bubbling face mask that also "doubles as a cleanser." The mask has moisture-retaining oxygen bubbles and vitamin capsules to remove heavy makeup and residue from your pores. Subscribers receive either the Aqua or Olive version; I got Olive.
The cleanser pumps out as a thick gel. After applying to my face the gel starts to bubble immediately, very much like the Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Foaming Mask, if anyone's ever tried that. My face feels soft and smooth after use, but contrary to its claims, it feels a bit drying to me. The scent is also slightly overpowering. That said, this would be a fun mask to use for someone who's short on time but still wants a pampering!
MCC Accent Gel Eyeliner - Value $17.99
I'm going to put it bluntly-- this is holy grail material. The potted gel liner comes with a handy brush hidden in the handle. I wore the liner (by itself, no primer) for a whole day and it looked almost pristine at the end of the night. There were trace amounts of transferring to the eyelids, which I expected since I have hooded, oily lids. Other than that, no smudging. Removal was painless too: it came off easily with oil cleanser and a cotton pad.
The brush makes clean, sharp lines. If you have stable hands you can draw fierce wings too.
The color is very dark and pigmented at one swipe and reaches full opacity at two. It's portable, it's long-lasting, and it resists my oily lids valiantly. I'm in love!
Proud Mary Animal Mask Pack in Monkey - Value $4.90
Subscribers receive one of three types of animal sheet mask. I got the Monkey, which is for soothing, pore care, and sebum control.
The mask was stiff due to the monkey print so it did not adhere very well to my skin. The essence also felt uncomfortably sticky after use so I had to wash it off before bed. This is something I would wear for the novelty but not necessarily for hydration.
Verdict: I loved this month's Mishibox. One item was deluxe size while the rest were full size or single use. I had fun trying everything. Best of all, the MCC gel eyeliner was a fantastic find! The retail value is around $53, which is more than twice the cost of the box. I think the quality and value of Mishibox is pretty hard to beat.
