TargetBeauty_092016-054

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream – .6 oz Value $12.80

TargetBeauty_092016-055

An alternative title for Target Beauty Box could also be "Laneige and Friends!" (This brand is seriously in every Target Beauty Box!)

Fortunately for me, I always love getting Laneige in Target boxes! This moisturizer is super hydrating, gentle, and just feels great on my skin - Laneige knows how to do skincare!

TargetBeauty_092016-050

Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick in Naughty Nude - FULL SIZE! Value $7

TargetBeauty_092016-051

This is pretty much a perfect lipstick for me. It goes on slightly sheer so you can build color, it's moisturizing, and I found the shade to be very wearable. Here it is swatched:

TargetBeauty_092016-040-2

TargetBeauty_092016-044

Maybelline Push Up Drama Mascara – FULL SIZE! Value $7.50

TargetBeauty_092016-046

I've sampled this mascara before, and I'd give it a C+. I had issues with clumping, lash definition, and waiting for the formula to dry. (For what it is worth, I think you could get decent results if you make sure to wait long enough for it to mostly dry before applying the second layer.)

TargetBeauty_092016-048

Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser - 1 oz Value $.90

I'm a Biore fan thanks to their pore strips, so I was excited to try this. It's a cleanser and exfoliant combination - and it was gentle enough to use daily - I'm hooked!

TargetBeauty_092016-052

S. W. Basics Organic Lip Balm - Value $5

TargetBeauty_092016-053

S.W. Basics make the best lip balms! They are made with only 5 organic ingredients (cocoa butter, coconut oil, beeswax and cardamom and cinnamon essential oils.)

The formulas are ridiculously moisturizing, and the essential oil blends are wonderful, too. (I love this cinnamon flavor for fall!)

TargetBeauty_092016-049

Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner - 1.75 oz Value $1

This is a 15-30 minute deep conditioning mask. I gave it about 5 minutes since I'm not great at waiting, and I wasn't a big fan of the scent. (It's a pretty strong tea tree oil fragrance.)

I still could feel benefits, though - it made my hair much softer and it didn't leave it overly oily, either.

TargetBeauty_092016-040-3

OGX Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo - 2 oz Value $.90

(Customers will either receive the shampoo or the conditioner.) This sample is smaller than I expected! I should get at least 2 uses out of it, though. While I usually can't tell the difference between the effectiveness of most shampoos, this one stood out to me as being very moisturizing (and the coconut scent is a nice perk, too!)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $35. I think that's a great value for a $10 beauty box, even if the mascara isn't for me. Everything else is great, and I love that I got a few of my favorite brands/products and got to sample a few new ones, too!

Sooo glad I read the comments! Target let me exchange the awful berry colored lipstick they send me for the promised nude color- absolutely love it. ?

I didn’t get the water bank moisturizer. I just noticed that after looking to see when the November box was coming out.

Nicolle

I’m curious how early these beauty boxes are available on the website before the next box ships out? When did you all score September’s box? Thanks for the help! ?

Reply ButtonReply

Erinne

It’s usually around 4am EST on the first Monday of the month

Reply ButtonReply

Nicolle

Great! Thanks, Erinne!!! 😉

Patrice

my box was missing the lip balm…bummer. I was looking forward to that 🙁

Erinne

Call their customer service. They should give you some compensation.

Amalia

Mine never arrived (online said the 13th) – just contacted customer service who has refunded the cost. Did anyone else not get theirs? “mix-up with shipping” said the chat staff – is that code for stolen off a truck? (it was never marked as delivered, so I know it wasn’t stolen off my porch)

It probably means that it got lost either by USPS or by the company that brings it from Target to USPS, if there’s a company that does that. My December 2015 Glossybox got “lost” between Glossybox and USPS and never surfaced.

thx!

Ellen

I am curious if anyone had a weird reaction to the rimmel lipstick. It made my lips super chapped and the skin super tight and sore, and made the sides of my mouth crack. I have only ever had this happen before with Eos lip balm, which I purchased at Costco, and which there were lots of reports about it happening – did anyone else have this happen? I couldn’t find any common ingredients and I really don’t have sensitive skin, so I am super confused about it!

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

I once had that happen with a Clinique lipstick. I stopped using it, and it went away, and when I tried it again later, it came back. Never with any other brand, though.

Reply ButtonReply

Sandy

That sounds like an allergic reaction. I’ve had it happen to me before with some lip products (most recently Julep brand). I haven’t been able to figure out which ingredient does it for me, but if I stop using the lipstick, the symptoms go away in a couple days.

I loved this Target box and I’ve used EVERY item!! I am getting a little overloaded with lipsticks. I sure hope Target starts sending nail polishes to change things up.

I also got the wicked lipstick and the cocoa balm, after reading the comments it seems like that was one version of box. I love the shampoo and the deep conditioner is nice, but it doesn’t seems like anything more than a regular conditioner. When Target starting selling Laneige I immediately bought their water sleeping mask since I heard great things and I’m a K Beauty junkie, but unfortunately that and all of their other products make me break out. 🙁

Got my first box Thursday! I really think I will try to get this beauty box often. The value of it is incredible for just the $10 I paid. And I am happy to have received samples I will definitely use!

Reply ButtonReply

Jenn

I got my box today – much happier with it than I was with my Allure box. :-/ I wish the Biore was full size, but I’ve been wanting to try it and there’s enough to give it a good test. I had the cocoa lip balm and the lipstick in naughty nude – which is the color I was hoping for. yay – not red! 🙂

Ellen O'Neill

Just got mine today. “Best of the Best” lipstick color ( a little too pinky bright for me) and citrus lip balm. Overall, I like the Target boxes though. I’d like to be able to recycle the actual boxes for a schoolroom project or something. Anyone have any suggestions?

Reply ButtonReply

Erinne

Check Pintrest. There are some really great ideas to make decorative boxes with a bit of paint and some craft store hardware out of all the boxes we get. Search beauty box projects or maybe Birchbox projects. I’ve seen them before

Reply ButtonReply

Zoe

What a nice box!!! I just remembered these existed, I’m disappointed I missed out on a great box with some good stuff in it. I mean, Biore?? How awesome!

Reply ButtonReply

Erinne

I called customer support and told them I didn’t get the color lipstick that was advertised. The rep was a little snarky with me. I guess I’m not the first person he has dealt with. He wanted me to look online for the color listed but I didn’t have access to a computer. He was hard to understand and seemed annoyed. I did receive a $5 e-gift card which is fine with me.

Reply ButtonReply

Marla

I received a ugly red lipstick but mine was broke in half and the cap was not on it was all over the other products I called CS and they gave me a 5.00 E Gift card. I just have to show it on my phone and they can scan it. I didn’t know you could take lipstick back and exchange it for a different shade.

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca Volke

You can actually take most makeup products back to exchange for a different shade/ product. I have done this a few times myself.

Reply ButtonReply

Heather

This was my favorite Target box to date! I think it’s because I have a vacation coming up, so the travel sized cleanser, moisturizer, and shampoo will come in handy. I am going to try to exchange my dark lipstick for the nude one, and would have preferred a different flavor lip balm (got the cinnamon), but I like the formula.

Reply ButtonReply

Janae

My box was accidentally delivered to California but I live in Hawaii 🙁 since they’re out of stock Target just gave me a refund. Someone got really lucky in California and received a free box 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Davan

I ordered two boxes and got a red and a burgundy lipstick and I love them! I also got two different kinds of the lip balm. Love this!

Reply ButtonReply

Mary T.

Just receive my box but I only have 6 items. I’m missing the lipstick. So disappointed!!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Kelsey

I was missing the lipstick too! I contacted customer support and they gave me a $5 E-Giftcard.

Reply ButtonReply

Erinne

So I got the Cocoa lip balm. Has anyone tried it? What does it taste like? I want to keep it sealed in case of swap if it’s not going to appeal to me. Would have loved the peppermint. I got a very dark lipstick called “one of a kind”. It’s a deeper red. I’m more of a brownish/nude toned. Looks like I’ll be swapping.

Reply ButtonReply

Becca

I got the cocoa balm and love it. It tastes good and melts like butter on your lips. It is my new favorite balm.

Reply ButtonReply

Lindsay

Not so good in my opinion. Smells kind of weird, like those chocolate after dinner mints. But if you like York peppermint patties and stuff like that, you may like it.

Reply ButtonReply

Erinne

Lol. I actually love York peppermint patties. I appreciate your knowledge. 🙂

Rebecca

My hair is shoulder-length, I’ve used the shampoo twice, and I still have plenty left! I think the mini bottles are adorable, but I was really secretly hoping that it would be a full size, since that could fit in the box. I would have preferred to get conditioner over shampoo, but I’m not complaining. With the full size lipstick, mascara, and lip balm, they can’t all be full size products in a $10 box.

I ordered two boxes, and both had the One of Kind lipstick color, which works for me, although the card said Naughty Nude, as well as OGX shampoo in both. I got the cinnamon lip balm in one and the cocoa in another.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Biore cleanser, in that I expected it to be harsh, but it wasn’t. As for Laneige, the longer I can put off spending $32 again on a full size, the better ? I bought it after getting it in the first Target box that it showed up in – I didn’t realize it would be a recurring product! – and it comes in a really nice, heavy blue glass tub. When it’s empty, I hope to reuse it somehow.

I have yet to use the mascara, as I’m currently on mascara overload.

I do feel bad for those of you who really wanted Naughty Nude didn’t get it. Hopefully you can trade it at a store without issue. I did that once a few months ago and had so much trouble that I decided to just deal with unwanted colors in the future.

Reply ButtonReply

Constance

Argh, mine won’t arrive until the 13th according to the tracking info. I can’t wait to try all of the products!

Reply ButtonReply

Neen

Still waiting for my Target box, too

Reply ButtonReply

amalia

Me three. Argh.

E

I got Rimmel lipstick in “one-of-a-kind” and I LOVE the color! It’s very smooth and creamy!! I also received Cocoa lip balm which is awesome! I love the way the Jojoba deep conditioner made my hair feel!! I haven’t used the Bioré cleanser yet, but I love the brand so, I’m looking forward to it!! I always love Laneige and have used the moisture cream before! I was a little disappointed that the coconut milk shampoo was such a small container but, I still am so THANKFUL for getting all of the products for such a bargain!! I actually have used this falsies mascara before and, I really like it!!! I don’t have any problem with it clumping and was super excited to receive it in my Target box!!! I love that Target includes so many amazing items that are affordable and I hope they never stop!! I would love for them to start an automatic subscription box so that I’m charged automatically and I wouldn’t have to HOPE to get a box every month!! ?

I received “The only one” lipstick.. # 510..pretty but wayyy too dark for me 🙁 I got the conditioner and the peppermint lip balm.. other than the lipstick I am happy with my box.

Reply ButtonReply

bleh

I got “the only one, 510 best of the best” lipstick…soooo dark, it’s ridiculous. I feel like this month’s box was a mis-mash of repeats, leftovers and overstock or something…shampoo OR conditioner? I have usually been happy with these boxes, but the combination of yet another too-bright red lipstick, mascara they’ve done before and moisturizer that they’ve repeated several times

Reply ButtonReply

Chasenchico

Not very pleased with the dark vampire colored “wicked” lipstick! This is my 1st Target Beauty box & 1 of the reasons I decided to give it a try was the naughty nude lipstick they said would be in every box & was also listed on my info card that was inside my box as well. I do like everything else so it was worth the $10.

Reply ButtonReply

kate

I also got that ugly red lipstick that went straight into the trash. I wanted a nude and feel rather ripped off as this only one of two full size products.

Reply ButtonReply

Erinne

Call customer service and tell them how dissapointed you are. I got a $5 e-gift card. I think you may be able to exchange it in the store also

Kris

I also got the dark color lipstick and I ordered the box for the nude one. So I decided to call Target customer service and I told them that I was disappointed and they refunded me for the box. I was really surprised that they did that.

Reply ButtonReply

kahombo

I received the same ugly color! I cannot imagine many of us can wear that color; they must have had a glut of them that no one bought. On the upside, my lipgloss was “cocoa” flavor and not cinnamon. I’m not a fan of cinnamon; it would have been like mouthwash on my lips!

Reply ButtonReply

Barb Smith

I agree, one of the main reasons for me was the lipstick and I also got the red. I look horrible in reds. My paperwork even listed the lipstick as nude. Very disappointed and may not get another. Also since we got the deep conditioner would have much rather had the shampoo instead of a second conditioner.

Reply ButtonReply

Lindsay

I really needed a new moisturizer, but I just noticed this Laneige product contains myristyl myristate. This was one of the two ingredients the dermatologist on Michelle Phan’s channel mentioned could cause breakouts. Any of my fellow acne-prone people having this issue with Laneige?

Reply ButtonReply

Becca

I haven’t had any problems using laneige products at all. I am acne prone but have not had any outbreaks after using it. I use 3 different laneige products daily including the moisturizing cream from this box and my skin looks great. I think it just depends on the person. Some people may not have problems but others will. You should try it and see if works for you or not. Maybe just use a little in one spot first and see if you have any acne appear.

Reply ButtonReply

Pauline Layland

Yes, I can’t use it at all. Two days in, my face was completely breaking out. Lucky for me I have a daughter with dry skin. She likes it.

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

Yes! I had issues with it breaking my skin out on a few separate occasions. However, I give it to my husband now when I get it in boxes and he doesn’t have any issues and really likes it.
