Doki Doki is a new subscription box from Japan Crate for all things kawaii! Items range from plushies, collectible, household goods, apparel, miniatures and more.

Each month comes with a fantastic booklet filled with images and artwork and information. August's theme is appropriately named Back To School!
Homeroom Bear ID/Pass Holder - Value $10?
Homeroom Bear is the newest addition to the Doki Doki/Japan Crate toy line. Calvin is a studious British exchange student while Coco is a bear that's in love with Calvin. I got Calvin, the yellow bear. He's is made of soft, fleece-like material that feels super nice! There's a slot for ID cards on the back of his head, though it's not very practical for me.
The retractable string is a pretty neat feature.
Chocolate Dipped Biscuit Pen - Value $4?
This looks so tasty! It's shaped like a Pocky, has a fine tip, and writes smoothly without bleeding. An overall adorable and practical item.
Hoppe-Chan & Doki Doki Friends Stickers - Value $2?
These are puffy stickers featuring a variety of cute characters. I adore the panda one that says "be happy".
Sumikko Gurashi Notebook - Value $8?
I cannot stand how cute this notebook is. Look at the little animals on the cover! The tuft of grass on the top has a face! The pastel color scheme is very soothing too. This is one of my favorite Doki Doki items ever.
Hoppe-Chan Pencil Case - Value $8?
This is a flat canvas pencil case. The front features Hoppe-chan dressed up as a cat. I like the relatively simple design. My current pencil case was purchased back in high school, so it looks like it's time to switch things up.
Petit Lapin Silicone Charm - Value $3?
This is a rubbery Petit Lapin charm featuring jewels as blush and a cute bow tie. The ball chain makes it easy to attach to my belongings.
Hoppe-Chan & Doki Doki Friends Washi Tape - Value $10?
I'm starting to get into the washi tape fad so these are definitely going to be used. The washi tapes feature Hoppe-chan and various characters from the Doki Doki toy line.
Rilakkuma Shirt - Value $15?
This is a Doki Doki exclusive t-shirt! I'm a little disappointed that the cream color washes me out, but the print is simply adorable. Korilakkuma, the yellow one, is apparently giving Rilakkuma a massage, but it looks to me like she's just bullying him.
Verdict: Doki Doki Crate hit the "back to school" theme right on the nose! My favorite items are the notebook and pencil case. I estimate the value of this month at $60; alternatively, the cost breakdown is $3.75 per item. Either way, it is definitely worth the cost of the box.
I'm also very excited about the upcoming changes to Doki Doki Crate. They sound very promising! I'm especially looking forward to those "practical" items in September.
