Here’s the info card the Story Box sent out for June. It talks about making sure to both lead your child during story time, and following their lead and letting them explore the book themselves the way they want with your interaction.
Les Petits Fairy Tales Beauty and the Beast – $6.78 on Amazon (retail price: $7.99)
This book is a version of Beauty and the Beast that is designed with very few words and super adorable and colorful illustration.
Here’s what a couple of the pages look like. I think it’s super cute.
Dig! By Andrea Zimmerman – $7.99
Dig! is a little book that follows Mr. Rally around in his backhoe tractor. He has 5 digging jobs to do around town, and the book teaches kids the numbers 1-5 along the way.
Here’s a peek at a couple of the pages in this book.
Verdict: I think The Story Box is an interesting children’s book subscription! I absolutely love that they have a speech-language pathologist pick the books. I found the info card to be really helpful, too. It’s good to get a reminder that it’s okay to just let the kids explore the books how they want, at their pace, and in their order sometimes! As far as value goes, I got about $16 worth of books for $14.99. Not huge savings but definitely some, and I also think there’s value in the curation and letting kids get excited about a new book.
