Horror Block Subscription Box Review + Coupon April 2016 - shirt

Crowley Shirt - Value $10?

I have to admit that I was really disappointed to not receive the 28 Days Later shirt that is featured on the card - instead, I received a Supernatural shirt, featuring Crowley. I know Supernatural is really popular, so most might be happy with this exchange, but I'm not a fan of the show and I am a fan of 28 Days Later - so it was a miss for me.

Horror Block Subscription Box Review + Coupon April 2016 - Hellraiser POP

Pinhead POP - Value $12.48 on Amazon

YES! This makes up for the shirt, though. I love Hellraiser, and I've put off buying this POP for so long just knowing, one day, that I'd probably get it in a box - and 3 years later - here it is.

I love that he has the puzzle box in his hand!

Horror Block Subscription Box Review + Coupon April 2016 - blu ray and salt and pepper shakers

The Editor Blu-Ray - Value $15-20?

I could only find the 2-pack for sale, so I did some guesstimating on the value. This actually gets decent reviews online, for the right viewer. It's supposed to be a satirical take on Italian horror films. I'm excited to see a Blu-Ray in the box, but I wonder if they'd ever send a more mainstream horror film?

Gravestone Salt & Pepper Shakers - Value $10-15?

This is an exclusive this month - it's a set of skull and gravestone salt and pepper shakers.

Here's a closer look at them. They're a nice set, and could be fun for any Halloween party.

Horror Block Subscription Box Review + Coupon April 2016 - rue moregur and patch

Cthulu Patch - Value $3-5?

The last exclusive item this month is a Cthulu patch. Neither the item or character are interests of mine, so it was a bit of a miss for me, personally.

Rue Morgue #166 - Value $9.95

As always - the latest issue of Rue Morgue is included to browse. Phantasm! Awesome!

Verdict: This was a decent month for Horror Block. I was a big fan of the POP, but it was the only item I was genuinely excited to unbox. I am curious about the movie, so it could up the value of this box for me if I turn out to like it. Luckily, I have no shortage of people to gift Horror Block items. They had been moving toward a more exclusive model, with cool exclusives, but I was a bit let down to see a patch as an exclusive this month.

I just got May’s box in the mail.. You’re in for a good one. I’m curious as to what you’ll think of it.

I loved this block! I don’t see why you got a different shirt though- the card specifically lists the 28 Days Later shirt. While I like the movie, I love that Crowley shirt and would rather have gotten it. Everything else was a total hit, I loved adding Pinhead to my shelf!

I liked this block a lot. I am a big fan of horror movies so appreciate a movie in the box. I love the Pinhead Pop – I too waited for it. The magazine is always good and lastly I did get the 28 Days later shirt — Love it!!! The patch and salt and pepper shakers are just kind of a miss for me. I was disappointed with the last three boxes. This was a very good one overall!!

The Editor released by Shout Factory only comes as blu-ray /dvd combo. If you are into Italian horror it is pretty entertaining.

I think they actually opened it and removed the DVD disc from the case. Very odd! There are details about the DVD version on the back, but no DVD disc inside.

Mine had a DVD inside. I was actually happy it wasn’t more “mainstream” – as I hadn’t heard of this one nor seen it, so it was nice to have something completely new to watch!
