Sun of a Chic is a new monthly subscription box that delivers designer-inspired eyewear to your door. They offer options for both men’s and women’s sunglasses.
This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes)
The Subscription: Sun of a Chic
The Cost: $12.99/month for one pair and $19.99/month for two pairs, plus $3.99 shipping ($9.99 shipping to Canada)
The Products: They offer 5 subscription options – you can get single-pair or double-pair boxes for either men or women, as well as a his-and-hers box that comes with one women’s pair and one men’s pair.
This simple info card comes in each box, listing the names of each pair and which designer they’re inspired from (This is an improvement! Last month they didn’t list the inspiration so I’m glad they did this time!).
Chloé-inspired “Carlina”
I’m surprised at how much I love these! They are enormous and fabulous. Definitely a statement set of shades, but they’re really pretty and fun!
Illesteva-inspired Metal
I love these sunglasses! They’re a solid metal frame and they have a great weight to them. I really wish the lenses sat a tiny bit closer together for my face, but I’m still going to love wearing these.
Verdict: This is my second Sun of a Chic box and I’m loving this subscription. It’s so much fun! Both of these pairs are different than I would ever pick up for myself (again, just like last month), so it was really cool discovering new shade styles and shapes that I like. As far as quality goes, these don’t quite feel like sunglasses that will last you forever, but they’re still good. Besides, getting new pairs every month (with a pretty low price point) means they don’t have to.
Last month I mentioned that my box arrived a little smashed up and the glasses weren’t in a hard case or anything for protection – this month, the glasses came in a much sturdier cardboard box and they were additionally wrapped in bubble wrap. This along with adding which designers the sunglasses were inspired by on the info card make for some really nice improvements that I’m glad to see!
