Scentbird Subscription Box Review + Coupon September 2015 - BOX

Scentbird is a perfume sampling subscription box that sends you 100% authentic perfumes every month. When you sign up, you take a preferences quiz to help them suggest recommendations for you to try, and you can also go browse and rate the rest of their selection to make the recommendations even more accurate. You can build a queue of fragrances you’d like to try or you can let yourself be surprised every month.

Because this subscription is so heavily personalized, the fragrance I selected to review this month is specific to my own preferences and choice.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Last month they introduced Scentbird Muses – basically, they’re having social media celebrities choose and endorse the Perfumes of the Month.

Along with the fragrance you receive each month, Scentbird also includes a card describing the “perfume of the month” for the next month, selected by the featured “muses.” September’s perfume of the week is Cashmere by Clean.

With your first month’s delivery, you receive a perfume case that fits your 8 ml sprays inside – this card details how to use it!

The purse spray case you get with your first month is black, and comes with the sample vial inside. Recently they received feedback that subscribers wanted the option to order more cases, and they listened! This pink case is limited edition but you can now add-on extra cases to your delivery for $12.95, and you can also choose between red and black! This is what the pink case looks like (closed).

And here you can see it open. I have to say that that these atomizer cases are probably my favorite part of this subscription for me. The cases have a nice weight, are sleek, and feel high quality. It’s super easy to open and close, and to switch perfumes you just open, pull the vial out, and place the next one inside!

The fragrance I received this month is Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs, which is a limited edition release. It’s categorized under “Office, Girly, and Fruity.” Its main notes include raspberry, green notes, pear, litchi, and violet.

I love this scent! I had tried it in a department store, so I knew it was one I liked. It’s a fruitier and girlier take on Marc Jacob’s signature Daisy perfume. To me it smells fruity but also really clean and fresh, so it’s not too sweet or sugary at all.

The Verdict:  I love that Scentbird has such a large selection and variety and includes lots of high-end brands that I recognize as well as lesser-known perfumes for me to try! Also, you can always email them requests for specific fragrances. They keep a list of perfumes they plan on adding, and requests for specific fragrances add to that list or bump them up in priority.

As far as value goes, a 7 ml rollerball of this fragrance sells for $25, so this 8 ml atomizer is worth $28.57! Definitely a value I’m happy with.

Scentbird also recently began their men’s subscription for colognes, as well, and you can add them to your queue even if you have a “women’s subscription.”

If you’re interested in trying out Scentbird, they offer some of my favorite (and popular) fragrances to try: Prada CandyLancome La Vie Est Belle, and Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy are just some of my recommendations!

  1. I am really curious about the muse picks perfumes of the month. I would love to see reviews about the perfumes of the month.

    • Hilary – thanks for the feedback! I’ll try more muse picks/perfumes of the month! =]

  2. I love Scentbird. I always watch for promos on Gilt City, Rue La La, etc. I’ve been able to add some amazing perfumes to my collection for next to nothing.

  3. I saw somewhere (in an email, maybe?) that Scentbird was offering a month free if you sign up and pay for the 1st month. Have you seen this deal anywhere? I know it was less than 2 weeks ago that I saw the coupon. Do you get to choose which perfume/cologne they send or is it a surprise based off your preferences? Is there a plan where you can get more than 1 fragrance at a time?

    • Rhi- you can find the information about the second month free promotion if you search for “scentbird” on our website! That’ll take you to a list of all our articles about scentbird, including news articles. That specific promotion was posted on July 28th, however I’m not 100% sure if it’s still working or not but definitely try! Also yes, it looks like you can pick every perfume you’re sent, even with that promo.

And I actually asked Scentbird about an option to add on perfumes each month a month or two ago and they said they’re planning on working on adding that feature soon!

      Hope this helps!
