GlossyBox Subscription Box Review + Coupon – October 2015

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription box. They have the best packaging in the business, their products are usually deluxe-size or full size, and the value is usually really good too. The only issue with this box seems to be the late shipping – I would recommend just keeping that in mind and setting your expectations accordingly if you sign up for this box.

GlossyBox sent us this box early for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

This is a specially designed French inspired Glossybox, and it is gorgeous!

Look at the inside of the lid! Even the side of the box is beautiful:

This box is definitely a keeper! Now on to the actual items!

The Subscription Box: GLOSSYBOX

The Cost: $21 a month (save more with 3-month, 6-month or annual subscription)

The Products: Deluxe and full-size beauty products.

Check out all of my GlossyBox reviews and the list of the best beauty and makeup subscription boxes!

Ships to: US and Canada

Each box comes with a fold out card detailing the items included.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris Aqua Universalis – 5 ml Value $13

Wow – this is an expensive perfume! ($185 for the 2.4 oz version). It’s a light scent (good for me), and I love that this perfume mini has a full-size perfume sprayer!

NUXE Gentle Exfoliating Gel with Rose Petals – FULL SIZE! Value $26

(Good to know for swaps – this comes sealed in plastic).

The exfoliating particles in this formula are made from ground Lychee stones and ground Walnut shells! The scent isn’t too rosy for me, it has more of a “clean” smell, and I liked how smooth it made my skin feel after using it. The exfoliating particles aren’t as mirco as they are in some other exfoliating cleansers, but this one is designed to be used for people with sensitive skin, so I think it is still pretty gentle.

PHYTO Repairing Thermal Protectant Spray – 1 oz Value $7

(FYI – Sephora has a 1.7 oz version of this listed for $12, and when I look at the picture of the 1.7 oz version the label says 1 oz, so the value of this might actually be $12). This is a leave-in spray that prepares your hair for heated tools, and also helps with detangling. I like how lightweight the formula is and the scent is subtle as well. I’ve liked all the Phyto products I’ve sampled, and this one is another I can add to that list!

De Bruyere Paris Red Lipgloss – FULL SIZE! Value $17.50

I’m struggling to find this exact lipgloss for sale online, so I haven’t found the ingredients yet. (Neither the lip gloss or nail polish include an ingredient list on the packaging – if you find the info, please let me know!)

This lipgloss adds a lot of pigment, and a good amount of shine without any stickiness – all good in my book! The color looks red in the tube, but comes out almost bright coral. (Swatched below).

LOLLIPOPS Paris Nail Polish in Voyage a Paris – FULL SIZE! Value $10

I have to say, I love the bright red makeup products tying in with the packaging. And a classic red nail polish seems like a good fit for a French beauty box too!

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $73. I think that’s great for a $21 beauty box, and I’m very happy with the sizes of the items this month. And of course, the packaging made this box extra fun to open!

What do you think of the October GlossyBox?

  1. This was my last chance with Glossybox and was so hopeful after seeing early reviews of this box. Of course, I end up getting the “alternate” products. No perfume or scent of any kind. Sigh…so done with Glossybox forever.

    • I got this box for the mini perfume, of course I did not get it.
      I hate Glossy now 🙁

    • How do you cancel with Glossy? Do you HAVE to call them on the phone or can you email them?

      • You can cancel online. Scroll down to FAQ’s and you’ll find out how to do it. Make sure you receive a confirmation email.
Unfortunately, you must cancel by the 14th of the month prior to avoid receiving the next month’s box. If you haven’t already cancelled you’ll be getting November’s box.

  2. Love Love Love didn’t think I would like this month’s box, but such a surprise!! I was in love with everything! So pink and feminine and beautiful <3

    • Hello Vallie,

Wow, we at the GLOSSYBOX office are excited to hear you loved your box. It means a lot that you took the time to share your thoughts with others. We take pride in creating our boxes every month and are so happy you were able to share in this experience and discover some new beauty finds!

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

      • Can’t help but notice you are responding to positive comments only.

  3. I also got the solid perfume: I’m fine with that but I think they should think twice about sending items to reviewers that are worth much more. It certainly doesn’t look good. On a positive note, I didn’t get the Phyto hair treatment but instead received a La Roche-Posay retinol treatment, much better for me. And I can never own too many red lipsticks.

    • Hey there Astra,

I am happy to hear you are enjoying discovering new beauty finds with us! The La Roche-Posay redermic cream is a great base before applying your makeup. Mix a small amount with your face moisturizer and your good to go. Your skin will be left luminous!

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

  4. I have got to quit looking at MSA for spoilers. Every time I see Liz’s box I get so excited for my box to arrive. Then it arrives with different products that have been consistently sub par to Liz’s box and I’m left feeling so disappointed. This month’s perfume switch is actually kinda cruel. $185 compared to the $25 feels like a slap in the face.

    • Yeah.

I do like the nail polish. Red is my favorite color. I have like 20 red polishes. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want more.

But yeah. The MFK perfume is one of my favorites ever. I will now be saving up Birchbox points for the next year so I can get the FS from their shop.

    • Kate, the sample Liz and others got was only 5ml and therefore worth about $13.20. The solid perfume, on the other hand, though the same size, retails for $25, so those subscribers got the higher value fragrance (and way cuter packaging!). Hope this helps ease some of the box envy. 🙂

      • That’s right, Kate! I’m so in love with my solid Le Soft Perfume! The packaging is so feminine! But which ever perfume I receive, I’m thankful. The one Liz got is great, because it allows us to try a super expensive but still a sample. But the ones we got are cheaper, but full size. Love the surprises from Glossybox! Please keep up the good work!!

        • Sorry, I meant, that’s right, Mary K.

        • Hey there Vallie,

I am glad to hear you are enjoying your subscription so far! We, here at the GLOSSYBOX office, thank you for taking the time in your day to send us a message. It is truly appreciated.

          Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

        • Yeah, just be glad you didn’t get the cheap rose-smelling bar of guest soap that I got in place of either perfume. The soap retails for $6. and I can’t stand the smell of rose-scented soap.

  5. So, is this still mysubscriptionaddiction or are we on a Glossybox Customer Service forum?
If you’re reading this, Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX, I ordered your October box a few day ago. Please be kind and allow me to use the coupon code inside the box for your Limited Edition Box. Actually, the main reason for ordering, to be honest.
I really don’t care what you put inside the October box, as long as I receive a usable coupon.

  6. Was definitely looking forward to the MFK perfume.

Did NOT get the MFK perfume.

Still do not have my replacement product for last month’s broken blush.

    Not happy, Glossybox.

    • Hi there Ragan,

Please contact our Customer Care team at They can provide you with tracking information for your replacement item.

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

  7. I tried using my code for the holiday box and it worked until I started checkout with Paypal. The page failed to load. I started over again and when I entered my code and I get the message about my code being used the maximum number of times. My order never got past the cart stage so I’m very frustrated. I emailed them to ask for a working code so hopefully they will respond before it would sell out. I’ve only gotten the auto response telling me they will be in touch soon, hopefully not long. I’ve had fairly timely responses in the past but it’s never been on a potentially time sensitive issue so crossing my fingers…

    • As a follow up, I called customer service and talked to a very nice and helpful girl that made sure my order had gone through. Even though Paypal page hadn’t loaded properly since I had logged in before it failed my order went though. That’s the reason for the code showing as used. Looking forward to seeing what’s in the box ☺️?

  8. Anyone looking to swap the box only? thanks!

  9. I just received mine so am behind the curve a bit. Someone probably already mentioned this and I’m too blind to see it but mine came with a gold card that said “Let’s Celebrate” and the back said pre-sale for only our loyal customers – “The Limited Edition Holiday GlossyBox” It went on to say the box would have a value of over $120 and gave a link along with a 25% off promo code to use on the box. I was just getting ready to cancel my sub but I did order the holiday box first and the promo code worked. Sorry if I’m repeating news already shared/shared elsewhere. Hope the holiday box will be a good one

    • Just noticed I also received solid I’ve never seen one before but I’m fine with it. I’d say out of all the boxes (GlossyBox has always had pretty packaging), but this month’s box ITSELF was a work of art (literally). My daughter gets all my interesting boxes and does her own artistic thing with them but this one is..just precious, whimsical, and reminiscent of the type of drawings in the books about Eloise at the Plaza (even though the Plaza is in NY) – my daughter is going to have to miss out on this box because I’m keeping it!

    • Hey Karen!
Is the code a one-time use? If not, would you care to share it? I haven’t heard anything so far about the Limited Edition box.
      Thanks ?

      • I also got a code and it looks like a one time use for 25% off Holiday LE box.

      • Unfortunately appears to be a 1 time use only code. I had actually pondered getting 2 boxes but didn’t remember seeing qty box when I took link to special holiday LE box (link is although I kept forgetting to put http in front of it since i wasn’t clicking a hyperlink – was entering manually). You can see LE box cost ($40 if no disc) but there’s no qty box. I signed in & tried to use code again – got error saying ‘your voucher has exceeded maximum # of uses”. Maybe someone who got one & won’t be using it could privately send. If anyone got box & didnt get this card in their box, I’d call Glossybox to code if you want it

        • The Glossybox website says the Holiday box has a value of $190 and the coupon with the code says it has a value of $120. Has anyone asked Glossybox about this discrepancy and received a response?

          • I noticed this discrepancy too. I didn’t see anything about the Holiday Box on their Facebook page and don’t plan to waste my time emailing them about it. They’re not too hot at responding.
Unless you’re reading this over my shoulder ‘Gabrielle from Glossybox’. lol

          • Hey there Lori,

I apologize for any confusion. The limited edition holiday box is valued at $190.00.

            Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

  10. I’m happy with my Glossybox this month. I got this exact box (I’m not a blogger). I wasn’t even going to open the lipgloss because I thought it was red, but now that I see the swatch I think I’ll give it a try.

  11. I got my box todaytoday, and I have to say I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I also got the solid perfume but I’m happy with it because it’s a format I prefer, solid/rollerball over sprays. I was not looking at all forward to the perfume pictured above since most scent samples for women tend to be flowery which I hate. I received the scent Zazou which is green, spicy and citrus, all my favourite notes. The lip colour I received is a deep warm magenta that’s perfect for my colouring. I also didn’t get the Nuxe scrub, but a sleeping mask by Vichy instead. I didn’t receive most anything that Liz got in her box, but I like mine better.

    • Hey there Alithea,

Wow, here at the GLOSSYBOX office we are excited about your thoughts on your box. We would like to thank you for taking the time to comment on your October box! It means a lot that you took the time to share your experiences with others. I take your feedback seriously and I am excited to see your thoughts on your future boxes.

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

  12. Hmmmm…..looking at the picture of Liz’s box…it looks like it was signed by the artist? Lower left corner

    • Hello Barbara,

We will be having a giveaway in the coming weeks with one of these signed boxes. Stay tune!

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

      • I think it’s great that Liz got a signed box…good for her!

  13. Got my box today. A little disappointed that I did not get the perfume. Did get a different scent product – like a solid stick. It is a much lower value than the one given to reviewers. That drives me crazy. I know they get business, but I am a part of the business they get. It makes me feel that I am not valued. I have to think about this carefully. If I wouldn’t have talked to a wonderful CSR the other day who made a point to work to satisfy me, I would already know what I am going to do. Now I must think.

    • I also got the solid stick scent which is valued way less than the perfume….not really happy

      • Actually…looks like this a a full size…value $25….that would mean 4 full size products in this box…that’s pretty good!

    • I got the same sub-par box you did. I’m not at all happy that some of us get the left-overs and am thinking about canceling. I had a damaged product (Emite – which was all over the box and products) in last month’s box and they did send a lower priced item of my choice so at least there is some measure of Customer Service. I do find it quite annoying that GB answers questions on this site ASAP and takes their sweet time to get back to customers who write an email. If they are going to use this site for their communication the least they could do is not dole out pat answers. Very frustrated!

    • I also got the solid perfume, and am still undecided as to whether or not I like the scent, which is “Striptease Flowers”. I can truthfully say it did not give me an “unexpected moment of joy”; if anything, it made me feel like I am less valued because I don’t have a popular blog. Just out of curiosity, did anyone but Liz receive the high value perfume? It seems that’s the only variation in the box.

      • No…I didn’t get Liz’s perfume…I got the solid scent in Striptease flowers. This appears to be full size…value $25. I also didn’t get the Phyto Spray…instead I got La Roche-Posay Redermic….its a retinol treatment…I’m happy that was in my box to try.

      • I got the same exact box as Liz did but I don’t own/write any blogs or anything like that. From my experience with them they always had some variations in their boxes.

      • I replied to someone else above, but in case you all missed it, Liz’s perfume sample was only $13, not $185 (that was for the full size 2.4oz!). The solid perfume was actually a higher value ($25).

        • To me, it’s not solely a matter of dollar value of what was received. Clearly the perfume Liz received is a higher quality, even though the sample she received was small. It’s like the difference between a glass of fine French wine and a box of Boone’s farm – you get more actual wine withv the box, but the quality isn’t there (no offense meant to those who like Boone’s farm)

          • My thoughts exactly. I would much rather have rec’d a small sample of a luxury perfume I can’t afford.. that would be quite a treat! I got the solid perfume. Super packaging but I would rather have had a sample of something truly special!

  14. I meant I really want the October box, I’m thrilled because I thought it was for September, but it’s the October box. Doing the happy dance now. Lol.

  15. I ordered my box before the free mascara came out. I emailed them and they gave me a list to pick from to receive as my free product for signing up. I’m just hoping I get the September box. I just love the style. I experienced excellent customer service and I will definitely recommend Glossybox. Thank you Glossybox.

  16. What gets me is that their ad implied a thoughtful process of “curating” the contents of each box – instead, some products appear to be random. Take for example the novex hair care cream, hell, the container is not even pretending to be luxurious. My thought is that glossybox is receiving a deluge of free samples from companies that are desperate to have a global presence, hence the random products masquerading as well-thought-out variations. It is simply insulting to me that I have been “chosen” to receive a “variation” that is presented as luxurious when it is not, I feel as though I’m subsidizing the actual luxurious products others are lucky enough to receive.

    • Hey Charina,

I am sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy the products we selected for you.
Given that you are a beauty lover you understand that our objective is to deliver to you a discovery experience, as well as provide you with trendy products and products that you can actually use and incorporate in your beauty ritual.

Unfortunately every now and then the products you discover are not 100% what you would love to receive, but it’s all part of the sampling and discovery experience. We take pride in creating our boxes every month. There is never such a thing as a ” Sub-level ” box or a box that we made with leftovers. We have had variations from the beginning. Some months may have two versions, while other months we have seven, depending on the trending items for the month.

You can rest assured that some today are jealous of the products you received.

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

    • Good grief.

    • I thought the idea behind this was French drugstore brands. That is what the info cards have said.

  17. I used to love Glossybox. Their collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman was awesome. I recently resubscribed but after just 3 months cancelled. I didn’t feel that the box was offering near the quality it had previously. I wouldn’t normally complain but cancelling has been a nightmare. I cancelled online through my account well before the end of September. October 1 they debitted my account. I have called 3 different times during their business hours and the message always stated that no one was available. They wouldn’t even let you wait on the line. I then emailed. They responded to tell me they sent me a free September box since I hadnt recently been subscribed and that I hadn’t been charged. I have changed my name since I was previously subscribed but clearly stated that in my email. Their response leads me to believe they don’t read emails but just respond based on your account. I didnt get a free box and I have definitely been billed for October. I will be disputing the charge with PayPal and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I was very disappointed to see what I considered one of the best subscription boxes on the market turn into a company with such poor, fraudulent, business practices. I encourage anyone subscribing to use PayPal to provide you with options for recourse if you find youself in a similar situation. (I did receive an confirmation of cancellation email before any of these issues started.)

    • Did you turn off future payment approval in your PayPal account?
I canceled my glossybox and saw money taken out and realized I hadn’t canceled on paypal also. :-/

  18. I’m gonna not subscribe since the only thing that really got me interested is the Nuxu cleanser. Since that may be one of the variations, it doesn’t sit well with me.

  19. That’s a beautiful box, but what I feel is anxiety, not excitement, because I’m terrified of the variations. This is my fifth month with Glossy Box and the variations I’ve received have mostly been sub-par to the ones I’ve seen other people review online. This makes me wonder if bloggers get better products to review than ordinary subscribers? I hope I get the same products as Liz got.

    • Hey there Charina,

I want to thank you for voicing your opinions and concerns. Our goal is to always make the members of our GLOSSYBOX family satisfied with our service.

To do this, there are a lot of factors at work! We use the beauty profiles for research, as well as to customize based on certain aspects. The unique variety of products chosen each month is provided to a broad range of subscribers in the GLOSSYBOX family. Sadly, it will not be a perfect match each month. However, the profile helps us decide between the choices of products we have each month.

Sometimes, the trendy items or colors we send out may not fit your specific preference, but that may not be a bad thing! The best part of our service is the chance to sample and discover new brands or products that you have not tried yet or even heard of before.

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

      • This is sadly the same reply I got when I wrote in. If we were made to believe that giving our profile will customize our boxes and take our preferences into consideration, then I do not understand how I keep on getting nail polishes and hair products in my boxes despite not checking these items on my profile.

      • I just received my box and it was not this one! I joined because I saw the beauty blender on the website and wanted it! but i got nothing pictured in the box they showed. Does this mean that was my september box and I will be getting another later this month? I also didnt get my free gift for joining 🙁

      • If you use the profiles then why do I keep getting nail polish? A response other than writing from a script would be appreciated.

        • Hello Lori,

We try to cater to our customers beauty preferences, however, we are not able to completely personalize the box. Each month, we select an item for each category (nails, hair, skin, makeup, etc). At this time, our system cannot completely eliminate a category from your box.

          Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

  20. Still new to the glossy box world, I hope we all getting the same box, I need this keepsake

    • Hello Ogo,

Rest-assured if you have a subscription with us, you will be receiving our Vive La France October edition box!

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

      • I have a problem with Makeup companies using MSA as their email response platform. Commenters should be free to comment –without getting big brothered. Especially with BS responses. Anyone else feel this way, or am I just being sensitive?

        • Yes and no…. It’s good they monitor but when i see a Sub reply then the person states they never replied to emails or nothing changes… i don’t like platitudes

Side note: Anyone selling JUST the actual box?

        • I very much agree that we ought to feel free to say what we wish in a reasonably closed discussion. Particularly, as you mention, Glossybox have no intention of actually doing anything helpful. Like answering the phone, or God Forbid! sending all subscribers the same items.
The moment they changed their model, I began receiving the leftovers – no-name rubbish products. When they finally man up and go back to sending EVERY subscriber the same as the bloggers get, I’ll be back.
It’s a shame, I used to really love my Glossy.

  21. Is the variation(s) just like slight variation, in term of colors of the nail polish and lip gloss or a completely entire different item(s)?

    • Hey there Ava,

Check out our social media in the upcoming weeks to see sneak peeks of the products that will be in this months Vive La France box!

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

  22. After letting my subscription expire last year (after being a 2-year subscriber) – this is the box that is bringing me back. Finally some colors that are not pink!!!!!!

    • Hi Tracy,

We are excited to welcome you back to the GLOSSYBOX family!

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

  23. I used the RueLaLa deal to get the previous box which I loved for $15 but not for $21. I promptly cancelled in September but was charged for the October box. I have called but no one picks up and you can’t leave a message even though it says you can. I also emailed them but have yet to hear from them. Again like the boxes but agree that the customer service is very off putting.

    • Hey there Khaleesi,

We have been experiencing a high volume of phone traffic. Please contact our Customer Care team at for further assistance.

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

    • I always email them with any issues and they get immediately back to me. I would try to email rather than call.

Also, I know with most subscription boxes if you sign up really close to their normal monthly charging time, you can end up getting charged for the next months box really close to when you were charged for the first month and then get 2 boxes super close together.

    • I encourage you to enter a dispute with PayPal if that’s how you purchased the box. I have called and emailed and have had numerous issues while trying to cancel. They don’t read emails they send form replies.

  24. I’m really loving the items this month (and the box)! I didn’t want a recurring subscription as the previous months have been a pass for me. I ordered a 1-month gift instead.

Looking forward to seeing what items I’ll receive. Happy Birthday to me!

I appreciate your review. Thank you! <3

    • Happy birthday, Emi!

      Your GLOSSYBOX family

      • How sweet. 🙂 Thank you so much!

  25. Finally! YAY!!! I have always wanted to try Glossybox, have been missing things about Frenchbox, love Nuxe, applied the coupon for the complimentary liner. Can’t wait!!! 🙂

  26. If anyone is interested… I would love the empty box! Email

  27. I really like the box itself and everything in the box. This might be my favorite box so far. Just hoping my nail polish doesn’t arrive broken like it did last month. I’ve emailed them twice with no response. Frustrating and I need to start cutting back on boxes. Much as I like the products bad customer service can change my mind.

  28. So underwhelmed 🙁 got my last Glossybox in June and had not been tempted since. I’m glad I only paid $15. Come on, Glossy! I’m giving up soon.

  29. Wow! This was a great month for GlossyBox. So many great products. The box is super cute too. 🙂

  30. Is it horrible that I want to subscribe just to get the box? I’m soooo tempted!

    • No – not at all! I love that box and would be subscribing just to get the box if I hadn’t already spent so much on other boxes lately 🙂

  31. I’m really hoping the variations don’t include another pink nail polish. I’ve gotten so many pink nail polishes and lackluster lip products. The Lipstik I received last month was bright orange (is there anyone who can pull that color off? Halloween make up does not count) and instead of coffee scrub (which I would have loved!) I recieved a foaming shampoo that leaves my shower smelling like toxic chemicals. This is the last box from the 6 month sub I purchased and I’m ready to be done with Glossybox. It’s been a huge disappointment for the last few months.

    • Hello Sarah,

I want to thank you for taking the time to state your thoughts and concerns. Our goal is to always make the members of our Glossybox family satisfied with the service we provide. Therefore, I take your feedback seriously and will pass along your notes to my colleagues!

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

  32. just subscribed so this is my first try of this. I don’t use nail polish so I could be happy to have a variation there. I wouldn’t mind variations as long as the value is comparable. Just don’t take my perfume – LOL! No seriously, don’t take my perfume please!!!

    • Pay attention to their billing. They bill on the 15th the month prior so you may get billed for your second box before you even get your first.

  33. I’m so glad I cancelled my subscription last month to glossybox. the past 3 months have been terrible. their last decent box was probably in May…

  34. Glossybox used to be my favorite sub, but after continuously receiving product variations that were way under value of other products, I decided not to renew my subscription. For example, this month, instead of getting the coffee scrub, or even the 12 benefits shampoo, I received a tiny aloe vera face mask that had almost no product in it, literally a dime size blob. Glossybox used to make me so happy, but now I feel just disappointed. I would come back if there was more consistency in their boxes.

    • Hey there Sarah,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience with GLOSSYBOX. I am sorry that you were not satisfied with the products you were receiving. I will direct your criticism to my colleagues , so that we can improve our service in the future.

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

  35. Everything looks fantastic! I hope the variations mentioned above are also good, though.

  36. I love the box itself and the lipgloss, I love a bright red lip. But won’t resub to Glossybox unless they go back to the old days of no variations.

    • I agree, variations lead to dissappointment. I subbed for August and September and both months I received different items than I was given to review on their website and I received the exact same item in my September box that they had sent me in my August box, also another problem of the variations.

  37. Gabrielle,

Will all existing monthly subscribers get this packaging, or does the variation also include just getting the standard pink box?

    Thank you!
    Ashley 🙂

    • Hey Ashley,

Yes! All existing subscribers will be receiving our Viva La France box. As well as those who sign up with us before the October edition sells out!

      • Please list the possible variations this month. Thanks.

        • Hi Cindy,

Here at GLOSSYBOX, we pride ourselves on providing unexpected moments of joy to our subscribers, so as to not deprive anyone of this pleasure, we have decided to not reveal the full contents of each month’s box until after it ships.

Stay tune for this months GLOSSY glimpses!

          • Hi Gabrielle. After being a years-long subscriber, I cancelled shortly after you introduced variations in the boxes. I never experienced any ‘unexpected moments of joy’ at not receiving the same great boxes as advertised.
You may not be surprised to hear that I don’t feel deprived of the pleasure of receiving cheaper/lower quality leftovers.
Go back to your old model and you might see an increase in long term subscribers.

          • Well can you guys pride yourself on responding to emails? Because that’s more important and can result in a “moment of happiness” too.

  38. Is this box still available for purchase? Or will my sub start with next month?

    • Hi,

The month that you order in is the first month that you will receive. For example, if you subscribe any time between October 1-31, your recurring subscription will begin with the October Box. The only exception to this rule would be if the monthly box sold out before the end of the month.

  39. Sigh. I really need to quit glossybox, but I would feel like I’m missing out. I’m only excited about the perfume…

  40. Your post reminded me to use my Glossydots for this month. This is my last month with Glossybox for awhile. But, I think I will like this box. Red is my favorite color.

And I love that perfume. We got it in Sample Society once and I never bought it in FS because of the price. But I was saving up points to get it in the Birchbox shop (because I figured I could justify it with points and a code).

Plus, no Vichy (which just doesn’t agree with my skin).

    • Hello,

We do have some slight variations this month. Stay tune for some great sneak peeks coming up this week!

      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

  41. I like this themed box! I hope they will do more like these.

  42. Walnut shells for sensitive skin?! Are you kidding me?! I may be a skincare obsessed nerd but I thought it was pretty well known by now that walnut shells ground up even to a fine powder are TERRIBLE on your face skin! The skin on all people’s faces (except maybe grizzled old men with a weather worn face like leather) is way too delicate for that, even if your skin isn’t considered ‘sensitive’. They create micro-tears that let bacteria in. Ewww.

    • Hey there Ally,

I want to thank you for taking the time to voice your opinions and concerns. Ground walnut shells add natural texture and exfoliating properties to the Nuxe gel. I recommend using the gel once or twice a week. Massage the product onto damp or dry skin, avoiding your delicate eye area, and rinse off. For a more velvety-textured exfoliant ideal for sensitive skin, mix the gel with a creamy gentle face wash before applying.

    • Walnut shells?? Oh dear. I missed that. Ack.

  43. Finally!!! I’m super excited about this box. I can use almost everything in it. After months of being lukewarm about the boxes and generally disappointed, finally a very cute box with products I can use and I am excited about.

  44. Besides the cute box…nothing in that box is exciting or anything I would use. Whomp, whomp

    • I agree with you, nothing I’m interested in.

Am I the only one who really doesn’t care for the box design? Just from the hints from this box I had a feeling that I wouldn’t be feeling it!

    • lol I think the box itself is great and would love for gifting but not interested in the contents….

  45. i canceled glossybox Iast month because I found I was usually swapping most of the box away. This review confirms I made the right decision- I would have swapped all but the scrub away (and I don’t NEED that)

  46. I just re-subbed. The box drew me in, but I also really want the scrub and the perfume…

    • LOL,

I just subbed for the box, too! ( I think I prefer the Allure BB overall, but this box rocks ^^)

  47. OMG. I’ve never really been drawn to Glossybox, but that box design was all over Instagram a couple months ago (I think it was actually for French Boxycharm)! I might swap for the box alone…though I’m curious about the rose exfoliator, and I love every perfume sample I’ve tried from that brand. Ughhh maybe I will subscribe for one month!?

    • Hey there Beth,

This design is a GLOSSYBOX exclusive special edition! Our GLOSSYBOX counterparts had this special edition in past months. If you order within the month of October, the Vive La France box can be yours!

      Au revoir,
      Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

  48. Already??? Holy moly!!

Yeah, that box IS gorgeous! I’m excited to try the Phyto and the Nuxe, but I might be the most excited for the box.

  49. Oh my gosh, I’m so excited!!! Thank you for sharing this with us!! I can’t wait to get my hands on the box, I’ve literally kept every single box they’ve sent since subscribing!!
