Scentbird is a perfume sampling subscription box that sends you 100% authentic perfumes every month. When you sign up, you take a preferences quiz to help them suggest recommendations for you to try, and you can also go browse and rate the rest of their selection to make the recommendations even more accurate. You can build a queue of fragrances you’d like to try or you can let yourself be surprised every month.
Because this subscription is so heavily personalized, the fragrance I selected to review this month is only one of a large number other subscribers may have received.
This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Last month they introduced Scentbird Muses – basically, they’re having social media celebrities choose and endorse the Perfumes of the Month.
Along with the fragrance you receive each month, Scentbird also includes a card describing the “perfume of the month” for the next month, selected by the featured “muses.” August's featured fragrance is Burberry Brit.
With your first month’s delivery, you receive a perfume case that fits your 8 ml sprays inside – this card details how to use it!
The purse spray case you get with your first month is black, and comes with the sample vial inside. Recently they received feedback that subscribers wanted the option to order more cases, and they listened! You can now add-on extra cases to your delivery for $12.95, and you can choose between pink and black! This is what the pink case looks like (closed) – it’s gorgeous and I adore it.
And here you can see it open. I have to say that that these atomizer cases are probably my favorite part of this subscription for me. The cases have a nice weight, are sleek, and feel high quality. It’s super easy to open and close, and to switch perfumes you just open, pull the vial out, and place the next one inside!
The fragrance I received this month is Coach Poppy, which is actually the perfume of the month. Poppy is categorized under “Everyday, Flirty, and Fruit.” Its top notes include cucumber flower petals, mandarin, freesia buds. Its core notes include jasmine, pink water lily, southern gardenia, and red candied rose. The base notes include crème brulèe (yum!), cedarwood, sandalwood, vanilla, and marshmallow.
I’ve heard a lot about this fragrance but haven’t tried it myself before. I love it! It smells very clean and fresh. The floral and vanilla are there but without being too flowery or sweet. I love the way the mandarin stands out on my skin.
The Verdict: I’m really happy with this month’s Scentbird perfume of the month! I actually found the full-size fragrances on sale at Sephora. Normally I compare the Scentbird value to rollerball sizes of the fragrances but to get this perfume in a rollerball form you have to get one that is dual-ended and has both this fragrance and another from Coach with it (which would be a waste of half the product if you didn’t like the second perfume). However, the 1-ounce bottle usually sells for $48, so this .32 oz/9.5 ml spray is worth about $15.36. I’m happy with that value! (FYI - The sample size Scentbird sends is enough for a month of use, with two applications a day.)
I love that Scentbird has such a large selection and variety and includes lots of high-end brands that I recognize. I’ve found they don’t typically carry perfumes that have been very newly released but here they are with a limited edition fragrance, so maybe that’s changing a little! Also, you can always email them requests. They keep a list of perfumes they plan on adding, and requests for specific fragrances add to that list or bump them up in priority.
If you’re interested in trying out Scentbird, they offer some of my favorite (and quite popular) fragrances to try: Prada Candy, Lancome La Vie Est Belle, and Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy are just some of my recommendations!
