1UP Box Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - info

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included. The theme this month is Justice.

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - tee

Super Rangers T-Shirt - Value $10?

This exclusive t-shirt is a mashup of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach as Power Rangers. I never got into Power Rangers when I was young, and while I still love Mario - this is a swap for me.

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - glasses

Batman Super Hero Shades - Value $12.99

I thought the brand of these glasses sounded familiar - they are from a company that was on Shark Tank, which Liz and I are fans of! The lenses are reflective, and they're made from a matte, thicker, plastic. Since I wear glasses - these are definitely a swap item.

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - batman

Justice League Wind Ups - Value $5-10?

From my research it seems like these are Target exclusives - the value is just a guess. I received Batman - what did everyone else get? We received a Walking Dead Wind Up in a past 1UP Box, so we may see more of these in the future. I'm very partial to vinyl figures in boxes!

TMNT Turtle Topper - Value $2.50 Based on 4-Pack on Amazon

I got Rafael as my topper - but you could receive any of the turtles. If I can keep this away from the dog, i'll probably use it for fun! This is a keeper.

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - tattoo

Exclusive Justice Tattoos - Value ?

I like the idea of having 6 classic weapons, but like all other tattoos from boxes, we just don't use them.

Princess 007 Magnet - Value ?

Princess Leia in the classic 007 pose and graphic.

Verdict: 1UP Box is usually good about coming in over value (at least in shipping to the US), and this is no exception. They did pick some great heroes for their Justice theme. Most of the items this month weren't really for me - but I'm totally keeping the TMNT topper. T0 me, 1UP feels like a geek box more focused to the younger crowd - somewhat similar to the Junior Nerd Blocks - do you agree?

What did you think of this month's 1UP Box?

I love my 1UpBox every month. Yes, they might not be as nice each month, but I love all the t-shirts and some of the cute things that come with them. My fave is when we get pop vinyl figures. You can’t really beat them for $20 a month, considering you can rarely get a geek shirt for less than $20 itself. Let alone a custom one. I will be keeping mine. I am 29 and wear those sunglasses everywhere. I think it depends on what you’re into- My kids are super jealous of my box so I share some of the items with them but overall I think it’s a great value for what you get.

I think this was also one of the few 1 Up Boxes that were quite underwhelming. In the past, they really did a good job of impressing the gamer/nerd boyfriend. *sigh.. It made me sorry I recommended it to anyone. But, I guess not every box can hit it out of the park. : P

I loved everything but the wind-up toy, and that’s because I’m probably the only person who received Robin lol. The shirt was amazing. I think Super Geek Box did better contents wise this month, but 1up Box did better on their shirt.

I agree about the box. We do enjoy it though and the value is always there for us. We had to skip this month because of finances but I will be on the hunt to purchase those glasses. My 7 year is undergoing chemo and she Batman. She loves wearing superhero themed stuff for her appointments.

Trish

I am so sorry to hear that your sweet little one is having to undergo chemo! My daughter is about the same age and is also a superhero fanatic. Would you mind if we sent her a special superhero package?

Lyndsey

I totally agree with you! My son is 8 and he loves getting the 1up box. I think it is better then the Nerdblock Jr. And my son enjoys it more.
