FOR THE MAKERS APRIL 2015 - BOX

For the Makers is a monthly DIY subscription box generally centered around jewelry. (There’s usually at least one non-jewelry project too).

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Here are all of the included raw materials for this month’s crafts. At first glance, I was super excited about the beautiful color scheme!

Mini Pop Piñata

I think that this piñata is really cute, but I have to say that this project was a total pain to do. This is mainly because they have you hand-cut the fringe which doesn’t seem like it’d be too painful initially, but it was actually really difficult to get the materials to behave and it took a very long time. Personally, I don’t think the hand-cutting of the fringe added anything to the fun of the craft.

Go-Go Key Pouch

Single Scoop Bracelet

These are both very pretty! I don’t usually wear gold jewelry, so I’ll probably gift the bracelet, but the key pouch is on my keychain right now. I’m not sure if I’ll use it to hold anything or if I’ll just let it look pretty there.

FOR THE MAKERS APRIL 2015 - items 4

Clink Cocktail Stirrers

Again, the fringe was a pain to make for this craft, especially with this gold metallic material (they gave me 4 stirrer sticks but I ran out of already-cut fringe at 2, so I stopped there). I think these are very cute, though!

Verdict: This month’s For the Makers has such a beautiful color scheme, and seemed very festival-esque to me with the peach, neon, gold, and fringe! However, this really wasn’t my favorite month for the projects themselves.
