“You smell amazing” is one of the best compliments to receive. Who doesn’t want to smell irresistible? Even more, who doesn’t want to have a signature scent that reminds people of them?

With countless fragrances on the market from a gazillion brands with flashy marketing, it found it overwhelming to select the one that perfectly encapsulates my personality and style. Even more, it takes way too much time and can be outrageously expensive!

In my search for finding swoon-worthy perfumes without taking weekly trips to the department store, I stumbled upon online fragrance shops, Noteworthy and Henry Rose. Want to know how they compare? I’ve got the gist:

Best value & variety of fragrances… Noteworthy

There’s no greater disappointment than being curious about a scent online…only to find there’s no trial size option. I’m not going to shell out $100+ on a blind buy!

Noteworthy offers a Signature Sampler Set ($49.99), which allows you to sample all 17 samples from their collection before committing to a full size bottle. On the other hand, Henry Rose offers their Full Collection Discovery Set ($45), which is only 12 samples.

In my eyes, it’s 100% worth it to spend a few extra bucks to get a few more samples. Plus, Noteworthy’s samples cost about $2.95 per vial vs. Henry Rose’s $3.75 per vial… so in my mind I’m really saving money (#girlmath). Even better, Noteworthy offers free shipping on all orders and full refunds if you don’t like any of the fragrances.

Noteworthy’s Signature Sampler Set also gives you a $25 credit to redeem for a full size perfume or 2+ travel sprays. Basically, you’ll get the cost of your Signature Sampler Set back for any purchase over $70! I’m personally obsessed with the woodsy floral scent of n,551, which I’ll be buying with my credit!

The Noteworthy Signature Sampler Set includes:

The longest lasting scent… Noteworthy

Both Noteworthy and Henry Rose make high quality fragrances that last. These brands both sell Eau De Parfums which are stronger than Eau De Toilette because they have a higher concentration of perfume oil. However, I found that my Noteworthy perfumes lasted me about 10-12 hours, but I usually had to re-apply my Henry Rose perfumes after about 5-7 hours. Even days after wearing some of my clothes I could smell the lingering scent of Noteworthy!

Science backed fragrances that are proven to attract…. Noteworthy

After doing some research about Noteworthy, I learned that the founders took a scientific approach to alleviate the challenge of discovering one's signature fragrance. The 17 perfume samples from the entire Signature Sampler Set fragrance were curated after a year-long longitudinal study with over 150 men and women, so you know each scent is tried and tested.

Plus, they even developed a unique offering for those who want an extra personalized fragrance-matching experience. If you’d prefer to try fewer scents that are more catered to your preferences, you can take the Noteworthy Scent Quiz, which is a Fragrance Finding algorithm created by leading data scientists to match you with your scent. Backed by AI and data science, this 3-minute quiz asks about your age, ideal vacation spot, favorite types of scents, when you wear fragrance, among other questions, to curate recommendations based on your answers. Henry Rose has a basic quiz that works well, too, but it’s a lot more general and not as personalized as Noteworthy.

Home fragrances & candles… Henry Rose

Noteworthy has an impressive collection of perfumes, but if you’re looking for home fragrances or candles, Henry Rose is your best bet. They have 6 different scents for their candles. I enjoy Henry Rose’s clean “Jake’s House” candle for my home, but I stick with Noteworthy for my body perfumes.

Safe & healthy options… tie

Both Noteworthy and Henry Rose are cruelty-free, paraben & phthalate-free, and have vegan options—I love knowing that the scents I’m spraying around my home are sustainable & good for me. 🌎

The overall winner… Noteworthy

Thanks to the wide variety, quality, science-backed approach, personalization, and extra perks, Noteworthy made the most “scents” to me! I’m thrilled with the fragrances I’ve received, and I’m stocking up on Noteworthy to have a unique scent for every occasion. Take this as your sign—get a $25 credit when you buy a Signature Sampler Set!
