One major disadvantage of using meal subscriptions today is that the overwhelming majority of them fail to offer decent options for breakfast - or any at all. Sure, you'll always have lunch and dinner covered for most of the week, but you rarely see brands offer anything more than the occasional featured breakfast or brunch of the month. But, that's certainly not the case with Green Chef.
Green Chef strives to provide its subscribers with a full course of meals for each day and offers some amazing meals for weekday mornings and weekend brunches. Here, we'll take a look at 3 of the most popular breakfast recipes from Green Chef that are sure to make your mornings better and help you start the day off right.
Try These 3 Amazing Breakfast Recipes from Green Chef
1. Lemon Ricotta Pancakes
This happens to be one of my all-time favorite breakfast dishes, and Green Chef takes it to a whole other level. This recipe features classic lemon and ricotta pancakes that are paired with fig maple syrup, lemon crème fraîche, and pecans.
You'll first whip up a batter that's made from a creamy mixture of one egg, 4 oz of crème fraîche, 4 oz of ricotta, and both lemon zest and juice. Then, you'll cook the pancakes as you would with standard ones, slightly browning each side with butter. Finally, you'll top off the pancakes with a drizzle of homemade fig jam and maple syrup, add a dollop of crème fraîche, and garnish them with pecans.
2. Bistro Brunch Scrambled Egg Sandos
Searching for something savory and filling? This loaded breakfast sandwich from Green Chef will do the job.
Start off by baking halved russet potatoes that have been dressed in olive oil, paprika, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper until they're fork tender. Next, add chard, onion, and roasted red peppers to hot pan and grill them for about 4 minutes. You'll then add eggs into the same pan and cook them through to your desired level.
Follow this with toasting ciabatta bread and creating a roasted garlic hummus. You'll then assemble the sandos by spreading the cut sides of toasted ciabattas with roasted garlic hummus, dividing the veggie and egg mixture between the bottom halves, and topping them with white cheddar cheese. Toast them for a few more minutes and then drizzle them in a balsamic glaze.
Finally, halve the sandos and serve with lemon aïoli on the side for dipping.
3. Brioche French Toast
Who doesn't love French toast? You'll start the recipe by mixing crème fraîche, honey, and some cinnamon together in a small bowl. Then, you'll create a delectable peach maple syrup by combining and heating up peach jam and maple syrup in a small pot over medium-low heat. To make the syrup a bit thicker and creamier, you'll add in 2 tbsp of butter.
Follow up by making French toast as usual - just whisk milk, eggs, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl, dip the brioche slices into the batter, and cook until golden brown. Finish off this recipe by drizzling the French toast with peach maple syrup and cinnamon honey crème fraîche as well as garnishing it with hazelnuts.
