I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I really love my April Allure box, which was my 4th month receiving the subscription. I received (not subscribed through Amazon): the Osea face oil (just love this), Saturday Skin rub a dub scrub (I have never received this in a subscription and am surprised I like this as much, the Amina perk up dry shampoo, the St Luxe Rose gold highlighter, the Elta MD sunscreen, the Neogen micro essence and the mini sponge pair. I am really loving everything in this box and it has exceeded my expectations.

I received my April box and I didn’t know where to leave this info but did anyones 111skin moisturizer come as just half a jar?!?! I used it twice and realized the bottom half is literally empty!! I was stunned since people are paying $270 for this?? I wish I could post the pics here, I’ve never seen this in a product before. I wonder if I had received a bad batch or if this was created for the beauty boxes?

Reply ButtonReply

Susan Merryweather

I have 3 of the Saturday Skin, same exact product within less than 6 months, Another sunscreen full product, I like sunscreen but not 2 full sizes of it. I am very disappointed watching this unboxing as I feel it is a bunch of leftovers that I have received at least twice. Thinking of cancelling. There is new products out there and we are getting sunscreen and peels?????????

Reply ButtonReply

Leah

I’m so bummed! I got a new member box for April even though my first month was March and April was the second box I received. I ordered on 3/18 and was told I would be getting the osea. Nope-just a bunch of leftovers from previous boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

Email or call customer service. I have had good luck when I have had issues.

Reply ButtonReply

Ni

If I resubscribe in April will I receive a new member box? I cancelled few months before

Reply ButtonReply

Allure Beauty Box

Hi Ni! Yes, if you canceled your subscription a few months ago, you will be considered a new member once you purchased another membership. To confirm you are welcome to contact our Customer Care team and one of our team members will be happy to review your account. I hope this helps!

RWG

How about adding in some fragrances once in a while guys? Molton Brown, Flower bomb, etc… It’s Spring time, let’s jazz it up a bit–please and thanks!!

Reply ButtonReply

Allure Beauty Box

We appreciate your time to leave us your review, RWG! We love hearing what our members would like to see more of in their boxes. We have passed your suggestions along to our team. Thanks!

Does anyone have any idea how many times Allure will try to charge me before giving up? I changed my card and I emailed to cancel (late I know) and thus far they’ve tried to charge me three times. I put in an empty pre-paid card so it will never go through, I’m just wondering how many/ how long I’ll get alerts that they’ve tried to charge me.

Reply ButtonReply

Snow

You could also just call….1-800-274-1603

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

Why can’t you just cancel the subscription?

Reply ButtonReply

Aidan

I had it suspended since I can’t afford to get it every month. I didn’t realize in time that it would only skip one month. You can’t outright cancel online, and I couldn’t figure out how to skip a second month, so I emailed to cancel. To avoid getting over limit fees I put in another card.

I am sorry that I offended Pam so much. Some of us are struggling and can only afford to get a sub box here and there.

Mary Vandeyacht

You cancel your sub in your account online.

Pam

They bought the box at a discount and added a zero balance pre-paid card so it would never go through. They didn’t bother cancelling so now the system defaults into charging the card every day to collect the balance. Apparently, now they emailed to cancel but is burdened by Allure trying to charge them again because they’re probably going to use this card on another sub box that’s offering an amazing discount.

This is the problem with Allure, they offer such great deals if you’re a first time subscriber that people just buy them again and again and use burner cards with no intention of ever having a subscription. I can’t stand people like this. This is the reason Allure is more expensive now because they take such a loss with these types of subscribers.

Wendy

Just curious, everyone. This concerns the Blinc mascara we received for March. I started using mine right away and really liked it. Within two weeks, the tube was a gloppy mess. When I took the wand out of the tube, the mascara was clumped on the wand, and it became unusable. Did this happen to anyone else? I was bummed because I liked it.

Reply ButtonReply

Yessy

Yes! I was bummed as well. The mascara was very good. Sadly, mine leaked out of the packaging as it was closed. Huge bummer!!

Reply ButtonReply

Kirstie

Yes! It became completely unusable, I only used it maybe 3 times. I had to throw it away.

Jten

I subscribed again last month to get the Sunday Riley , I haven’t had Allure for a few years. It is well worth the price and way better than Ipsy premium on the non x months .
I have really been in- impressed with Ipsy premium with the cost increase and the products. Give Allure a try it’s worth it , you can always cancel if your not happy 😃

Reply ButtonReply

Allure Beauty Box

Thank you for your feedback, JTEN. We appreciate you giving Allure Beauty Box another try! We can’t wait to hear what you think of your box once you receive it. We hope you love all the goodies coming your way!

If anyone is interested: I got my April box (I subscribe on and off from Amazon, more “off” than “on”). I got all products listed on Amazon site.

This is great to hear, DST! Please let us know what you think of the items you received, we always look forward to your thoughts!

We hear you, Doona! We have passed your feedback along to our teams for their review. Please stay tuned for our upcoming boxes!

Reply ButtonReply

Ann

As a member, can i choose from these products what to receive? I don’t need and already have received most of April’s products. If i can choose them ok or i think i’ll skip April’s box like i did in March.

Reply ButtonReply

Allure Beauty Box

Hi Ann, while we do not offer the option to select which products you will receive, our editors carefully test, review, and approve every product included in each Allure Beauty Box to ensure that you can feel confident that it’s something that was carefully selected for our members.

Once you receive your box and if you find that you received an item you had received in the past, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care team asap. Our team will be happy to make things right for you!💞

Reply ButtonReply

Maggie

You don’t get to pick, but Allure does say if you’ve received the items from them before they won’t send you duplicates. That being said I have gotten duplicates before but if I contact them they will send me other items to replace the duplicates.

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

I bought one of the bargain boxes on the Allure website consisting of a variety of items from former monthly boxes. I got an email from Allure saying that the Peach & Lily Glass Serum was old stock and they apologized. They are sending out the Boscia Retinol cream instead. It’s nice that they are sending something of comparative value. I’ll still use the Peach & Lily and mix it with my Nue Company Vitamin C Powder. Nothing ever makes my skin break out.

Last time I complained that my Vitamin C Serum from 111Skin was impossible to open they sent me a bright fuchsia lipstick worth $20 in place. I can’t wear bright fuchsia lipstick! I guess it was their subtle way of saying that 111Skin by products are really worth $20.

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

Yes I do think that 111Skin products are worth about $20. Lol. That being said, they aren’t bad.

Reply ButtonReply

Jeni

I could never get my vitamin c to open either ! I tried and tried

Reply ButtonReply

Lana

I miss having this sub and there are potentially some great items in this box, but the possibility of getting the old dead stock from the bottom of the Allure warehouse is a huge turn off. It’s been a total bummer when I got these things in my box, even as someone with a year long sub commitment. I loved that this box had zero variations when I first signed up

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

Why are there two sponges? I mean, how is this an actual curation? This is just sad.
And why are there so many new member gifts? I mean, even that doesn’t sound appealing to me, but I am just wondering how it would all even fit in a standard Allure box.

Reply ButtonReply

Allure Beauty Box

Hi Juju! Our current members may receive a set of 2 Baseblue Cosmetics Airspongein their boxes this month, depending on when their membership began. Please see the link to our website down below, for a better idea of all the possible items that could be included in your box this month!

https://beautybox.allure.com/current-member-product-grid

We are only offering one free gift for our new members, which is the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb perfume. I hope this helps clear up any confusion. We can’t wait to hear what you received in your box this month!

Reply ButtonReply

Shea

They’re what will be in your box if your a new subscriber. The new member free gift is the perfume.

Reply ButtonReply

Lana

You would get only one of the sponges, it’s an either or.
Their shipping boxes have actually gotten comically large in the last couple of months. My items are usually rattling around in there. But there’s only one new member gift, a deluxe V&R perfume

Reply ButtonReply

Lana

DOXYMAMA –

There are a lot of box variations as usual lately. Allure IG spoilers said the sponges were either or for current subs.
You’ll only get 7 items from the spoiler list given on this blog post, not all of them.

DoxyMama

Lana, I don’t see an either/or for the two sponges. According to the lists above, new members won’t get either sponge and current members will get both. Am I missing something?

Mandi

JUJU-That is the box new subbers will get if they sign up now-they will also get a deluxe sample of Flowerbomb as their free gift. Pretty sure every item listed was in old boxes btw.

JuJu

What about all these items?

*111 Skin Y Theorem Day Cream, Full Size
*Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask
*ByMe. Liquid Eyeliner (full size)
*Chella La Vie Neutral Eyeshadow Quad
*Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Duo
*L’Occitane Overnight Reset Serum
*Saturday Skin Rub-A-Dub Refining Peel Gel (full size)

Ok. So just imagine the amount skincae, makeup, hair and body products(most of them amazing brands new launches) that are sent to all of the editors and employees of allure for free. They get to try all of that amazing stuff and I bet there is soooooo much extra that they don’t use- you know they are sent way more than they can ever try- why can’t they send us some of that? These products are ALOT of old repeats that I got in boxes long quite a while back. I talked to a couple of customer reps not long ago and they told me that allure was really listening to all of the worries, complaints and suggestions and taking them seriously. This box tells me that they really have no heart for us, that they will just throw any old things from their stock room in there, and that they aren’t listening to us. I’m super bummed and disappointed. Allure box should be the one box sending us high quality, cutting edge products, new launches and stuff that their editors actually approve of AND USE- like the allure best of beauty winners for example. Why is this happening? Are they struggling financially?I wish they would be transparent with us about what’s going on and why the boxes have been like this. I am really sorry if financial reasons are any they can’t get us great products in the allure beauty box but please, we deserve to know so we can make an informed decision about where we spend our money. I have a lot of love for this box-ive been getting it off and on for years now.i don’t know how much longer I will be willing to wait it out for better changes- please Allure, know that Ihave totally dug and given you money for your box for a long time but I need your to do better or I just can’t afford to spend almost 25 bucks on stuff I already have or don’t really like. I’m asking you sincerely, earnestly and with love, can you do better? Do you just not really care much for our worries, complaints and suggestions? I don’t get it by we’ve been providing you feedback here and lots of other sites for long enough for you guys to get it together but it still hasn’t happened. I keep watching and hoping that each new months spoilers are gonna be like how it used to be- you have always been my fave box- it’s why I’m so bummed with this situation.

Allure Beauty Box

Hi Kelly!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your review. We always love hearing what our members have to say – both good and bad! Please know that we definitely understand all of your concerns and know that in recent months, members have felt underwhelmed with their boxes. Our teams are listening and are making every effort to enhance the unboxing experience for all our members. The most important part of that process is your feedback!

Please know you are receiving a high-quality box that includes a guaranteed six or more editor-curated products, including at least three full-size products, with a total value of at least $100. Our editors select a mix of luxury and indie brands for each box. Sometimes we include a bonus product (or two) from a mass brand as a free gift to you along with winning items from Allure’s Best of Beauty! For instance, we have included the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning from Allure’s Best of Beauty in our April box.

In addition to tried-and-true products, your box includes an Allure Beauty Box mini-magazine, featuring a letter from the editor, product reviews, and tips for using each product. We hope that you give us another try or stick with us. We have a ton of amazing new products in store for our members and we can’t wait to share them with you! 💝

Reply ButtonReply

mmm

I keep wondering if supply chain issues are behind a lot of the repeats and lame products. Like maybe it’s hard for them to actually get items they probably curated? Or there are limited quantities. That said I’ll be thrilled if I get the Osea and EltaMD. I hope I do not get lipgloss and I’m so sick of highlighters. Sponges are fine. I’ll use them just not exciting.

Reply ButtonReply

Teresa

They could offer curated boxes of the old stuff and let people buy them off the website like subscription boxes did in the past like POPSUGAR Must Have would sometimes sell bundles at a huge discount. I sell them as add on’s like Ipsy. That way they got the old stuff out and money in to buy new stuff. I use to always get one thing in the Allure boxes that I really liked and now it’s hard to see that being the case. I would sign up for the box to get the Osea: Essential Hydrating Oil but it looks like you may or may not get it if you signed up too late. Worse yet I could get the new member box of old stuff.

Reply ButtonReply

Gina M

I completely agree with you Kelly! Honestly, I would stop getting these boxes but I got myself into a deal with them for a year but I pay monthly. I can’t wait until it is over and I’ve been a subscriber since Sample Society! Never missed a box. This stuff just leaves me cold. I wonder what is going on.

Julie

They already do sell curated boxes with past items. I have purchased at least half a dozen now that were really good deals.

JuJu

I don’t think anyone from Allure reads the comments here.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

If you look like through the comments, you’ll see that Allure CS has been responding to comments.

JuJu

Ah, my mistake.

Rose

I’m not sure how many boxes Allure sends out but I know FFF stated that they sent out 1 million boxes per quarter. The items in these boxes could not simply be left overs.

I put together a very specific, niche monthly subscription box for 50-100 people because any more gets overwhelming.

I have been putting the packages together for over 2 years and have had supply chain issues, mailing issues and just my own health issues. I don’t make a killing, although the monthly packages are pricey. And my stock doesn’t expire.

Shipping even a small, lightweight package usually costs $4ish. If Allure gets a large discount, let’s call it $2. They also print whatever materials are included, pay for boxes and pay employees to open boxes, put together boxes, do their media/website, print labels, inventory, answer customer calls/ emails, source and so much more. There is a lot going on behind the scenes and there is a reason a lot of subscriptions have gone out of business.

$25 is a lot to some but not to all. Even big box stores (Target and Walgreens for example) charge $20 for a decent face cream imo. Can you find something cheaper? Of course. But most likely you won’t be able to get the variety of products Allure sends. I haven’t purchased mascara, eye liner, eye shadow nor any lip product for as long as I’ve subscribed. Plus I’ve sent my unused products to my niece, who adores them.

I’m not thrilled with the April box but the Osea product is worth it for me. Allure is easy to cancel or skip which makes it even better in my eyes.

Reply ButtonReply

Rose

It is through Patreon but I do offer one time packages through my website bloominclothing dot com (msa, feel free to remove this post if it breaks any rules; I am not trying to get customers). I put together custom shipping supplies for resellers. Think tissue papers, poly mailer shipping bags, ribbons, inspiration cards for package toppers & a fex extras. 💙

missann

I subbed Allure since it was called something else (I can’t recall, sample society?) but it was about 11 years ago. I unsub for awhile and try other boxes, right now it’s LookFantastic. I like their high end brands and larger sizes. I also sub Glossybox on and off. Maybe try changing it up?

Lana

I get your point, but it feels like leftovers because people have received expired makeup. I got dried up liquid eyeshadow as a “gift” from them before and people who got the brow pencil in February said that it was dry and old. If Allure personally isn’t keeping these items lying around, the brands who send them the items are sending in dead stock

SBR

I want to know your monthly box name

DoxyMama

Two different sponges? A DLS brand? Allure? You were so helpful and visible in the previous discussions. Would you like to chime in about the DLS brand? I’m betting “Allure” now goes silent… 🙄

Reply ButtonReply

Lana

the sponges are either or, you won’t get both

Reply ButtonReply

Linda

Skipped. The only item I’m interested in is EltaMD UV, and considering there are too many variations lately, it makes me wonder it isn’t even guaranteed for current members.
I’m sure it is a good box for those who are interested in Osea Oil, but facial oil isn’t for me anyway. Hope other people will enjoy this 🙂

I just think “overwhelming response” to Osea Oil is a misconception. A lot of people re-subed using new emails just to get new members gifts for March. Those folks won’t stay. They cancelled by now. We can get unlimited Osea oil through Amazon anyway if we want.

I just hope Allure will include decent full-size SPF before summer! Fingers crossed🤞🏻

Reply ButtonReply

Carol

Wow that’s bad

Reply ButtonReply

Yessy

Yes! I have subscribed for January, skipped February, got March and excited for April. The items here are what I want to try and can’t wait for the box and review it on my blog.

Reply ButtonReply

Snow

Feeling some major deja vu with some of these products! I realize running a beauty box is no easy feat, but I don’t like the direction this one is heading in. The DSL brand is a definite big ol’ NO. I would hate to be the Allure employee who has to spotlight that product in their beauty box booklet lol.

Reply ButtonReply

T

I paused my box in March, and my box should un-pause for April. Since I have never done that before, I wonder if I will get the new subscriber items or current subscriber items?

Reply ButtonReply

SBR

Should be current since it wasn’t canceled.

Reply ButtonReply

Aidan

So I recently resubbed, and never skipped during my last subscription. When you skip is that only for one month? Or do you stay suspended until you make a change in your account?

Reply ButtonReply

Lana

It’s only for one month. They automatically reinstate your account for the next month as a current subscriber (so no new sub gifts or box variations). You’d need to skip the month again if you want to do two skips in a row

Reply ButtonReply

Aidan Riordan-Buell

Thanks for the response! It’s still showing suspended, but I changed my card info to a dead debit card just in case!

kate of spades

Anyone know the size of the flowerbomb perfume? Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

missann

It’s a cute little bottle but you will get many many applications from it. It’s a small version that looks like the large one and it’s glass, not one of those tubes.

Reply ButtonReply

Yessy

I think it’s sample size. I could be wrong.

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

It is a deluxe sample. I got it several months ago
