Last month ( my 3rd box of 3 month subscription) I received a product holder box but there was no product (mascara) in the box. This has happened twice since being a first time subscriber. I informed Glossybox (no replacement sent) & informed rep I cancelled because it seems to be a problem? Rep said okay & to have a nice day….only to be charged for another 3 months about a week later. Now, no emails to alert me or for choice. Grrr.

Swap for a 14$ drugstore lip balm that’s worth less than what I pay for the box ??!

So sorry I just resubscribed. Luckily I can turn off auto renewal

Make sure that you go by the title of the box that you want.

When I logged into my account the boxes are as follows:

Curated Box Option 1- Clean Beauty

Curated Box Option 2- Make up favorites

Curated Box Option 3 Ingredients to Know

Please look carefully at the box choices if you want a particular item and don’t rely on just the numbers.

I guess I got spoiled by swapping for full size products for the last couple of months… since I am committed for a year (with Beachwave), I might swap for the points. I wish they include older kit like they did last month.

Sarah

When did Birchbox start charging $5 for shipping?! With tax, that makes this sub almost $22!!! Even if I were to resub, and use the coupon to get an extra box, I’m not sure even 2 Birchbox boxes are worth $22.

The last time this happened it was a glitch. It might help them if you email them: [email protected]

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

I don’t think they do.

Sarah

That’s what it shows when I went to reactive. Glad I caught it …

Eva

Can you at least list the items available in each box, or will that info along with the product sizes become available later? Would still prefer if at least the names of the items were listed here

Why don’t you just read the comment section? 🤔

Just cancelled after being a subscriber for 83 months. Spent my loyalty points and ready to be done, tired of waiting for them to step up their game.

I might have deleted that email but I do remember receiving an email from birchbox that stated they are going to add arrow products as bonus 6th product in the boxes and now they put an option to swap the while box for lip balm… Hmmm… 🤔

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

Maybe that was this month? I did get six items, & one of them was the Arrow moisturizer.

Reply ButtonReply

Pooja

I too got 6 items and one of them was arrow moisturizer. And I found that email, that came on March 19th that said
” This sample was included as a bonus (6th sample) in select March boxes. We want everyone to have a chance to try ARROW, so this year we will be sampling it in boxes as a bonus, in addition to your 5 deluxe beauty samples. If you’d like to try the brand and get 6 samples in your upcoming boxes, keep an eye out on ARROW in box customization and select it as your sample choice.

Why would you want to swap your box for a lip balm that costs less than the subscription?! Come on Birchbox!

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

It’s equal to the cost of the box if you are paying the full $15 for your subscription.

But I agree – one lip balm instead of 5 products? Meh!

TC

Seriously 🤷‍♀️

The option to swap for a full size lip balm is quite a letdown after last month’s option to swap for an entire kit of 10 masks. However, that was such a great deal that I can’t even be mad.

This month I will want the Stila item for sure.

Marion

I keep thinking that each box will be my last… not sure what month I started my year-long. I’ll probably pick the Stila if I get to.

I’m guessing the Phase Zero product in curated box #1 will be a blush, since the IBY product is a highlight & the Benefit product is a bronzer. Not a bad box if you want a full face, but most of these samples I’ve seen many times over.

Box #2 looks okay, except for having an essential oil?? Not the kind of move that I was expecting Birchbox to make when they said they were improving boxes last year. I googled to check if this company was an MLM (it’s not), but found a scathing review that said even though Art Naturals claims to provide “natural” products, a lab test showed that they include undisclosed synthetic ingredients. So. I guess it’s not even a “good” essential oil?

Box #3 has Beautycounter, which IS an MLM.

The full-size product, the Arrow balm, has been one of the “sample” products in past boxes in its old packaging, so…. kinda sketchy of them to now make it a substitute for an entire box. Did they think we’d be distracted by the bright, pretty new colors of the packaging & not remember?

Liz

FYI, I think the IBY is an eyeshadow. When you look on the site at the products the box contains, an IBY eyeshadow palette comes up. Phase Zero is a blush.

Melissa

Fun Fact: If you have a Birchbox account, you can click on the link in the post above, and it will take you to the website where you can preview all of the boxes and click on each item to read more about it.

I got the annual sub with the free beachcomber curling iron. I think I’ve had 3 boxes with products. I now just get points. And have already contacted customer service to remove auto renewal. Same boring stuff all the time. But I do like the curling iron and I have gotten decent stuff with the points. But I definitely will not miss this sub when it’s over.

Reply ButtonReply

Pooja

I have never swapped for points but might do it this time. Can you please tell me how to do it and how many points do you get.

Reply ButtonReply

Joy

Pooja when you swap for points you get enough points to equal what you pay for your monthly box. So for instance if you are an ACE and you pay $10 a box and you swap for points you will receive $10 to spend in the store. If you are a regular member and pay $15 a box you will receive $15 to spend in the store. These points carry over so if you swap for points for a few months and wait for one of their awesome sales you can use them all at once. Or you can use them immediately. When the option to choose your monthly box becomes available there is an option to “swap for points “. You can choose it the way you would a curated box or sample choice. The points become available to use as soon as you are charged for that month. Hope this helps!

Susan

I did the same. I used to get Birchbox but cancelled for I was over it. Subbed again for Beachweaver. So far I’ve had 7 months of repeat products which I clearly rate low or say i don’t use. Why have a profile and rate things if you keep getting them. I’ll be giddy when August comes as well. I’ve only been happy with one month. The rest not to much which says something

Reply ButtonReply

Alison

Wish I could get out of this year long sub. I signed up again after being a member years ago so I could get the Beachweaver deal and that thing doesn’t even work! I will gladly be canceling the minute I can and never looking back! Too many repeats, all of the curated boxes are gone within minutes, and they haven’t even looked carefully at my profile.

tammy g.

can someone please tell me what is in box #3…can’t make out what they say..and what is that lipstick..

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

– Rael Hydration Sheet Mask
– Onekind Refining Facial pink clay (mask?)
– Jane Iredale Just Kissed lip and cheek stain (this is as tiny as it looks)
– Beautycounter Balancing Ylang Ylang facial oil (this company is an MLM :/)
– Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive cleansing gel (also a pretty small sample)

TheOtherJulia

I don’t know what sub boxes are thinking lately by including MLM products. They are usually terrible quality, and have an over inflated retail price. It’s an automatic cancellation for me if there’s any product(s) from an MLM.

Melissa

That is box #1. Box #3 is:
NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Smooth Blowout Lotion
Wilma Schumann Skin Care Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads
Number 4 Jour d’automne Sugar Texturizing Spray
Art Naturals Sweet Orange Essential Oil
High Beauty high five Cannabis Facial Moisturizer

Lauren

The Stila is Stila Beauty Boss lipgloss in Synergy. Birchbox Breakdown
This cushiony lip gloss plumps and hydrates while leaving a high-shine finish.

Alice

It’s a color adjusting lip balm/cheek stick. It was in a box a few month ago. It’s nice.

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

Where is the product info?? I need to know more about this Stila. I’ve wanted to try one of the not sparkly eye shadows for so long. So I’m hoping its that and not lipstick or glitter.

Birchbox app/site is horrible. So hard to navigate the way its laid out and labeled. I’m Ace and got the email this morning but when you follow their link the site says it’s not available yet. Smh they really need a major overhaul in that dept!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz

According to the site, it is the Stila Beauty Boss Lipgloss in Synergy.

Reply ButtonReply

Debbie Foster

I’m also an Ace but don’t ever get the emails anymore- they stopped about 5 months ago even though I’ve checked my settings and sent them a message. The only way I know about it is through here…

Reply ButtonReply

Lauren

The Stila choice is Stila Beauty Boss lipgloss- Synergy.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

Too many repeats… Glad I canceled.

Seriously, swap for a lip balm? The last “swap for” I did with Birchbox was for six liquid eyeshadows (and they’re great!)

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

It is always a lot of repeat items. I had never had them and purchased an annual. Within 3 boxes I was choosing points LoL I’ll snag a box when they have the specialty ones like may 19 all skincare or the Oribe box. But definitely won’t be renewing it, unfortunately.
