Field to Cup Discoverer May 2019 tea subscription box review all contents

FYI - The Field to Cup subscriptions are ending on 6/14:

We're writing to you with some unfortunate news.

We will no longer be shipping any orders out after June 14th. Our family business has had its ups and downs, and we've had many ups, but the increasing cost of doing business in the tea industry has been a strain on us. It has been a heavy decision for us that we didn't take lightly, but we're looking to a brighter future.

That being said, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the years of support all you have given our family. You are truly a dedicated bunch of tea lovers, and without your love of tea we wouldn't have been on this path as long as we have been. It has been invaluable connecting with you via email and even on Instagram. You kept our fires fueled through all of the toughest times. Your tea reviews were the highlight of our day!

Here are some more details regarding the final days of our business:

1) All prepaid subscriptions will be refunded for the remaining portion of the subscription. This will be a pro-rated refund for any months that we didn't ship a box to you. Any delayed gifts (subscriptions that have not yet started) will be refunded in full. If you receive any order or shipment notice, please disregard. If you were charged for a box in June, you will receive a refund. Please give us a few weeks to process all refunds. If you haven't received a refund by June 30th, please reach out to us.

2) In the coming days, your month by month subscription will be cancelled and will not generate any future renewals.

3) Any remaining points in your redeemable sipping points account will be invalid after June 14th. If you intend to use them, do so quickly! Please note, we've disabled earning points for purchases or actions at this time.

4) Any future tea replacements cannot be sent out unfortunately, as we are not shipping another box out to you for June.

5) Most of our teas have been revised to include a 16oz (1lb) size at wholesale costs. We will continue updating our inventory for maximum savings so you can enjoy that favorite tea for months to come. All of our teas are first come, first serve. So if we're out, we're out. If you happen to order a tea, and there was a mistake in our inventory, we'll refund that item in your order. If there's a tea you're truly heartbroken about, please feel free to reach out to us in the case we have extra sample sizes available.

6) Please give us a few more days to get back to any additional questions you have as we're doing our best to take care of your requests.

Thank you so much again for supporting us throughout the years. We hope you'll continue seeking out new teas to love, and pushing out of your comfort zones!

Happy Sipping,
Haim & Shirley

Important takeaways:
  • All pre-paid subscriptions will be refunded for the remaining months
  • If you were charged for a June box, that will be refunded
  • If you haven’t received a refund by 6/30, contact Field to Cup

I just made a big purchase. Lots of their teas are selling out.

I’m going to miss this subscription ☹

I loved this box – I was subscribed for a couple years but ended up skipping a lot this past year bc I have so much tea on hand bc I love tea lol. They have great teas and curation and they have been so nice in correspondence. I’ll miss them 💜 🍵

I’ve really enjoyed this box and found so many wonderful teas. I just used my $10 reward coupon to get more of my favorites. Their email this morning was so professional but expected from the awesome customer service they’ve always given. I wish them the best going forward!

Does anyone have recommendations for a similar tea sub, especially one with a low or no caffeine option?

Plum Deluxe has a great caffeine free option! They have also been great about a pesky nut allergy that I have (nobody else seems to be so conscientious as those folks are).

Harney and sons has a subscription but you will get caffeine sometimes. You can also just outright purchase teas. I think they have free shipping plus you can google coupon codes. I am on the fence about getting a tea sub vs picking what I want so I’ve been reading tea reviews Lol. We have a lot of tea drinkers at my work so it wouldn’t go to waste.

Thank you!

Plum Deluxe. I’ve been subscribed for nearly four years now, and they are amazing. The tea is quality, and the customer service is outstanding. I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences with them. They also coordinate a quarterly swap among any subscribers who choose to sign up, which is always a lot of fun.

Aw, sad. I had been seriously eyeing their subscription lately. Still what a professional and thorough note.

Kudos to them for professionalism and kindness. Heading over to the website to grab some bags of delicious tea while I can. All the best, Haim and Shirley!

I had $10 of rewards to redeem and just “accidentally” bought $60 worth of tea….lol….

Oh i liked them!
So we can still make tea purchases, right?

I 100% agree with all the above comments. I just used this service for some Christmas gifts this past year, and they couldn’t have been nicer in all their correspondence. I wish them all the best. They will be missed!

Take note, subscription boxes. This is how you end a subscription and close your business; with integrity and kindness and respect. I was never a customer of theirs, but I have great respect for the owners and wish them good fortune on future endeavors.

They are handling their closing in a professional manner. I wish more businesses would do the same.

This looked like a great sub, and I was considering a gift purchase for my mom. I took too long to decide looks like.

Good luck to them in their future endeavors!

Lola box should take notes on how to take care of their customers.
It’s really unfortunate that they are going out of business. But they definitely have done it gracefully and with care for their subscribers. I wish them well in future endeavors.

I just wanted to say this is how every sub box should (unfortunately) say goodbye if they have to — with grace and kindness. I bought a gift subscription for my mom a couple of years ago and she really enjoyed it and I’ve made a few shop purchases myself. I’m sorry to see them go, but again, they have managed to resurrect my faith in humanity with this message. I wish them well.
