FYI - The price of Loot Crate will increase to $24.99 on May 1:

From Loot Crate:

Why is the price going up on my crate?

We are updating the price to keep up with the rising costs of product supplies and our mail and distribution partners.

Why didn’t I receive this increase email?

Some Looters don't receive emails if their email on their account is different from their primary email, or they have unsubscribed from our newsletter. If you did not receive this email: Please contact our Support team so they can go over the details of your specific subscription changes.

When will this price increase affect my subscription?

Beginning May 1, 2019, you will be charged this new rate on your next scheduled billing date which can be found in your user account. Log in with your email and password at lootcrate.com and click “My Account” in the upper right hand corner.

I signed up for a long-term subscription already, will I start being billed the higher rate right away?

No. The price update will be reflected on your next bill at the time of your next upcoming renewal. We’re not charging anyone more for a subscription that is currently in the middle of a multi-month plan.

I am an international customer, does this affect me too?

No; the new rates apply to domestic U.S. customers only.

Does it really cost this much to ship & handle my crate?

Unfortunately, yes. The cost to get things in and out of a distribution center is very expensive and those external costs (USPS, FedEx, DHL, and other air freight services) are out of our direct control.

Are the delivery issues experienced on some crate lines related to this price increase?

Yes and no. Mostly no. As we’ve expanded the types of products we offer and the amount of Looters we provide them to, costs do increase, but there have absolutely been setbacks and we sincerely apologize for any inconveniences you’ve experienced. We take your feedback very seriously and we’re working hard to get better.

Will this stop all the delayed crates we have been getting?

Not immediately, as everything we are working on today affects crates 4-5 months in advance, but we will see more consistent shipping and handling later in the year.

Why are you raising the prices now, when there are delays being resolved?

It’s unfortunate that this needs to happen at this time but this needs to be addressed at this time.

FYI – Loot Crate has shipping issues. We only recommend subscribing to any of their boxes if you are OK with boxes showing up late. (Possibly months late.)

If you sign up now, May will be your first box. The theme for the May 2019 Loot Crate is Nemesis:

Dark forces are gathering in this month’s crate… That’s right, your NEMESIS is here. Shake your fist dramatically at a collection of villainous pop culture gear featuring nefarious ne'er-do-wells!

Liz, I just got an email informing me that ALL billing will be the 1st now…STARTING May 1st! Not much notice for a hike and date change.

I’m kind of feeling a “NerdBlock” vibe here. Remember them?! The shipping kept getting later and later until finally the company just simply went under and stopped shipping altogether and a lot of people lost money because the company kept collecting money every month but not shipping anything. Wonder when this is going to happen to Loot Crate.

We canceled yesterday when I got this email. I’m tired of getting crates on the 10th of the following month (or later) and now with the price increase? It’s just not worth it!

And I’m not biting my nails waiting to see when this company’s going to file bankruptcy while they’re still taking my money either.

Ironic that their next (or should that be next to the nth?) crate is called Nemesis, when Loot Crate has become the biggest Nemesis of all (I really don’t think I’m over-stating… well, not too much anyway) to their customer base.

Yet they still have subscribers including new ones. How and why is anyone’s guess.

Yet there are still new subscribers! Either people really don’t read reviews or they love their dollar store fandom stuff so much they are ok with constant delays, crates being cancelled etc.

This is my favorite part:

“Why are you raising the prices now, when there are delays being resolved?

“It’s unfortunate that this needs to happen at this time but this needs to be addressed at this time.”

Explains everything. Good job, Loot Crate.

$25/month for overstock items you may or may not receive within 6-8 months? No thanks; goodbye Loot Crate.

Missy

With all the money they have saved up with, you know, not shipping things, you would think they could afford to improve things first before charging more for crappy service!

Cat

And not adding 28385383 new themed or specific franchise crates might help too! XD

Ashley

Really? With all their delays they want to charge more!?!?!? HAHAHAHAHA…..bye bye loot crate.
