Hey I wrote them about the “missing items” from my box earlier and I got a “thanks for your patience” email from them a couple days ago and today the box was on my doorstep with the buffalo hide journal, caramel, marshmallows and hot choc on a stick. I am very pleased abut them making good on their BF box!

I received my “Ultimate Stocking Stuffer Box” from Robb Vices today and I must say, I was disappointed. Robb Vices promised people that signed up for a subscription through MSA (I signed up for a 6 month subscription) on black Friday an “Ultimate Stocking Stuffer Box” — a box that had: 1) Highspire Whiskey; 2) Pininfarina Pen; 3) Illy Coffee; 4) Biscotti; 5) Bison leather Notebook; 6) Fat Toad Farm Caramel; 7) Hot Chocolate on a stick (2); and 8) Bourbon Marshmallows. The box I received was missing half of these items – it did not have the notebook, caramel, hot chocolate on a stick or marshmallows. The box was not as advertised and I may not have subscribed if I would have known what was truly going to be in this box. And, for a box billed as “stocking stuffers,” I am now many stocking stuffers short as I was going to use the missing items as stocking stuffers for my family. I am disappointed that Robb Vices did not include these items and then didn’t let everyone know what would really be coming. That seems disingenuous. Robb Vices did include the Radice Orange Blossom Water and facial cream, instead, but I don’t need them or want them, nor do the people that I now need to buy stocking stuffers for. This is my first experience with Robb Vices and I am disappointed because the process was not transparent. If the items in the box needed to be changed, then people should have been told beforehand – otherwise it is a “bait and switch” something that does not get our new client-customer relationship off on a good foot. I reached out to Robb Vices customer service about my concerns.

Update- I also received a box from Robb Vices with the missing items. I appreciate them standing behind their original promise to provide the items.

I’m furious about this as well! I planned on using most of the box for gifts and since I didn’t receive many items advertised on the offer, I had to spend my Christmas Eve out buying replacement gifts instead of spending time at home with my family. What a terrible way to treat members who make longer term commitments.

Mine too. Really needed the notebook, caramel and marshmallows and the fact that they sent it so late also a huge issue. Need to fix this.

My stocking stuffer box was also this bait and switch box and, on top of that, it also did not ship with my December box (as advertised.) I feel like this was completely false advertising and am also now short presents. Seriously unhappy!!!

My “stocking stuffer” box was the same as yours. What a huge let down and dishonest advertising.

If you’re on the fence between this and Breo check out forums we have yet another debacle with “gift cards” that are the prettier but just as useless equivalent of hello fresh or the $100 wine cards. I would go with Breo, buy the $45 bottle of whiskey and take yourself out to dinner with a little still left over for dinner instead of a 6 month commitment to a company that needs to step its game back up.

Julie, I totally agree regarding the gift cards. I received my box Tuesday and went to order my Artstar print the next day and actually found something in the lowest price range that I liked only to find out A: The code didn’t work. In which I immediately contacted Artstar themselves. Received a response that Robb Vices would be sending us through email special individualized codes. So I received my “special” code that sane evening, tries to place my order once again for the same print and mat/frame and now there is a message stating that this artist’s work is not included in the RV redemption. A total letdown. I wishe they would stop including these gift cards as part of boxes. The two in the box this month, for an art piece and a steak package, look to drop an extra $100-$150 for each one and this is the low end. Definitely not in my budget. I can go and spend less than $90 to get a bottle of Cab, shortbread, pasta, and a glass decanter elsewhere and I would still be satisfied. They have definitely gone downhill since the early summer.

Liz, do we know if this is the ONLY BF deal we will have from RV? If so I am going to renew our sub again to get it.

My understanding is that they will be launching a different free gift offer. Hope that helps!

I currently have this sub and would recommend it but $500 is a lot to spend right now. We’ve received all those items in the bonus box over the past few months. My husband loved the whiskey but everything else was just okay. If you want the box just go month to month.

I had to cancel my RV membership a couple months ago, but have been super-close to resubbing. My husband loved that whiskey and I know he’d REALLY enjoy another bottle if I got this deal, but I can’t resub with the 6-month commitment. $500 is too much for me to drop at one time, especially this time of year!

Have you tried using the code EXTRABOX? That one seems to be pretty much ongoing and can be used for any length subscription.

That’s a great bonus box but I’m afraid the 6 month sub at $500 is out of my price range for a Christmas gift. The 3 month sub seems much more appropriate for gifting…guess I will have to wait to see what Black Friday has to offer.

I totally agree. This is the one I’ve been waiting for, but $500 for a gift is a bit much for most of my list. I wish they’d considered a discount instead.

Did RV mention what the first box will be if you buy a box under the BF deal?

I toyed with this, but decided I don’t want to drop the $500 up front right before Black Friday weekend. Too bad we can’t sign up for this but pay monthly. Oh well.
C’mon Popsugar…..don’t fail us!
