My card was charged on Friday, and I’ve checked to see if I could see my bag but I can’t. Anyone else having this problem?

Not really happy with my bag… Again…
Low value and products I don’t use…
I get:

Tarte bronzer – would be happy if it’s the cleanser. Don’t use bronzer at all
Nomad highlighter – another highlighter too many…
Avene mat toner – happy but tiny sample
Ahava hand cream
Trestique concealer – hope I get a good color for my blemishes

TBH, only really happy with the bag and hand cream.

EEEK! So excited for my bag this month. Not sure if I am correct but I think my bag has a total value of $72.00. Talk about ahhhmazing. I was not sure about Ipsy when I first tried them, then I canceled after my first time trying, but I decided to try them again this month and I am so glad I did. My bag:

Ciate Wonderland eyeliner – excited about this one – .02 oz. $9
Lakur nail polish in a cotton candy color – 12 ml $16
Tarte face wash – 7.5 ml $3
Hempz lip moisterizing lip balm – .44 oz $9

I am actually so excited for my bag this month, I’m so glad I decided not to skip! (I’d originally skipped this month, then decided to take it because I wanted the Gudetama bag so badly!)

I’ll be able to use most of the items so it’s a win!

– trèStiQue Mini Concealer Crayon in Porcelain or Bisque (Not sure how I feel about this.. I don’t use any eye products… I’ll give it a try for under eye and blend out to see what happens!)

– IBY Beauty Crease Brush (Not sure why they’d send me an eye brush when I opted out for both eyeshadow and eyeliner.. I use NO eye products at all!)

– Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet (My request! I love finding new daytime moisturizers since I have the Benefit Total Moisture for night and that’s a HUGE tub)

– tarte cosmetics Rainforest of the Sea™ deep dive cleansing gel (this was almost my original pick, so happy I got it anyway!)

– BelláPierre Cosmetics Banana Setting Powder (I’ve been dying to find a new setting powder!)

Have you skipped an ipsy bag before? How? I’ve been a subscriber for about 3 years and have never heard about that being an option. I wish more subs would let us do that!

Also, out of complete curiosity (so please don’t think I’m being nosy or rude or anything), why do you not wear eye products? I’ve always thought of that as a No. 1 beauty staple, like if you don’t put anything else on your face, you at least throw on some mascara to look alive : ) My jaw dropped open and I was sincerely shocked when I read that you don’t do eye makeup.

All of these seem like cool new products to try. And I LOVE the Gudetama bag. I don’t know why…I never even heard about this depressed egg before. But I think he’s so cute! 🙂 Sometimes, when you’re feeling down, a bag of treats like this can make you feel so much better. Keep it up Ipsy!

I agree- Ipsy and most of my other subs are just a pleasure to receive every month, and I too really like this Gudetama bag. I think in some ways this site, which so many of us enjoy, also breeds dissatisfaction as people see what others are getting and become dissatisfied with their products or dollar amount, all of which are generally more than you pay. As long as you can keep seeing this as a fun little extra you give yourself, it’s great! If I see something someone else got that I wanted, I can always just buy it, or wait and see if it comes around again in another box or bag.

The social experimenter in me is actually curious…would people be happier with their subs if they didn’t know what others were getting?

Yes! You are absolutely right. Ipsy and Birchbox were the first two subs I signed up for about 3 years ago and even if I got an item or two that I didn’t like, it didn’t bother me as much as it does now because I didn’t know what others were getting and wasn’t comparing it. I love this site! But between it and similar sites and Instagram, I get serious bag envy when I see other people got a “better” bag/box than me, and sometimes upset when I realize there’s value variations. The best way to avoid that I guess would be to not read the comments and maybe avoid some of the spoilers. It is very interesting!

That’s a good question because often I hear people say just that. Personally, I have never reacted that way – I’ve never seen anybody get anything that much greater than what I got (I mean, I have, but only when they paid for an expensive box and I paid for a cheap box). Sometimes I’ve not been super-psyched with what I’ve gotten, but on those occasions, I didn’t see anything so awesome in other people’s boxes, either. Personally, I do this for a diversion, so I get much more out of it when I see what everybody else got.

Here’s the other thing: I sub to Sephora Play, so if I see something so great, I just go try it in the store. I saw other people get a Tatcha cleansing oil sample and I liked it, so I asked for a sample in the store (and it was just ok).

Most importantly, every time I see something I want, I swap for it. So if I see somebody else get something awesome, that’s a plus for me, rather than a minus.

Bag one:
-treStiQue Mini Concealer Crayon-I’m always down to try a new concealer, I just hope it’s a good shade.
-IBY Beauty Crease Brush- I can always use more brushes
-Mongongo Lip Conditioner-I got this in my first bag ever and LOVED it but lost it so I’m super excited to be getting a new one.
-Nomad Cosmetics Illuminating Highlighter- Love trying new highlighter and this one looks so pretty in the pan, it looks like it will be good for travel too.
Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Bronzer-I’ve never tried anything from tarte so I’m so excited for this, i just hope it’s not too dark

Bag Two:
-Too Faced better than sex mascara-So excited to try this! I’ve always heard amazing things about it!
-Cougar Beauty Liquid Lipstick in Mullberry-Love trying new lippies, i’m hoping it’s more pink than nude. it looks similar to an ofra one I got in Boxycharm last month.
-Pacifica Island life eye-shadow pallet-Love these neutrals i think this will be perfect for travel.
-Hanalei Lip Treatment in Rose-I got this in clear a few months ago and have already used the entire tube. I’m excited to try this color.
Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clas Bronzer-This is the only duplicate. If i love it, i’ll keep or i’ll gift it to my cousins. Can complain with one repeat.

And i love the bag itself. So cute!

I have the hempz lip stuff Liz is getting and i used it for years! it really thick and hydrating. I put it on before bed and wake up with the softest lips.

So excited for both bags!

I’m getting the same bag as Liz except I’m getting a Lakur nail polish instead of the So Susan blending brush.

This bag disturbs me so much. I LOVE Sanrio but this character is ugly and depressing. Literally any other Sanrio character would have been AWESOME.

I’m super pale, but I’m getting that Raspberry Ripple – Ombré Radiance Blush Palette… is it going to be too dark on me? The screen makes it look pretty dark… and I don’t really know how to USE blush. I guess I’ll figure it out! Or trade it. :p

One, maybe it’s not that pigmented. Two, you can use a stippling brush, a.k.a. a skunk brush. If you don’t have one, you can get one from ELF or Sonia Kashak at Target.

I got yet another useless bag of garbage. my survey said im extra fair, hate neutrals and eyeliners, love brushes. well it looks like almost everyone but me got a brush.
I got a dark bronzer thats too harsh for my skin,
nude eyeshadow and lipgloss that dont show up AT All,
black eyeliner.
and 2 masks that i requested. NOT worth the $2 masks.

I hate brushes and am getting an illuminating brush even though all my highlighters are too small to use an illuminating brush with. I emailed them and opted out of skin care and brushes yesterday. I am just glad I dodged the tarte cleanser bullet.

I am extra extra fair, and the Tarte bronzer is actually my favorite eyeshadow even though I have a million other neutrals. 🙂 It’s buildable and really pretty in the crease! Also, I highly suggest e-mailing Ipsy to opt out of eyeliners. I need to re-do this since it’s been 3 months… three blissful black eyeliner-free months!

That’s a great tip! I’m also very fair, and got the Tarte bronzer!
Was really bummed about it as it was actually on my opt out list. Luckily, I can always use another eyeshadow!
Turns “opt out” actually means “prefer not”, as they do NOT guarantee you will get it. However, if YOU contact them if it happens they give you a bonus 6th item. So there’s that at least!
Apparently, the reason for it is bc there is only certain # of combos that can be done and so they “pick the best based on reviews and profile”. They have been decent for me lately but, I have seen soo many say they don’t pay attention to either for all of the bag!

Probably will keep them for another month or two, but wish they would do better w/ the preference stuff!

So disappointed in this months bag. Another black eye pencil…. gotnone kadt month. Ofra eye shadow …. third gold one since February. Rose scented lip balm…. here rose scent. Dark colored lip product….. don’t wear dark colors. Only good thing I am getting is the face masks which I requested. Why have a profile or rate products if they don’t reference them

I am most excited to try the bronzer! I’m least looking forward to the lipstick, but only because of the color. Overall, I’m happy for a $10 bag. I wish I hadn’t gotten the black gel eyeliner but only because I already have so many… but it will get used eventually.

my gudetama bag has been recalled by the CDC b/c of the following ingredients:

-ciate gel-kohl liner in black (there’s a world of hue colors but ipsy maintains a monochromatic view with eyeliner selections! question: is this the same as the oliva palermo x ciate london smoked out gel kohl eye liner?

-ofra eyeshadow (already own similar shade from an ipsy offer purchase)

-cougar liquid lipstick (already own similar shade (different brand) from an ipsy offer purchase)

-tonymoly sheet masks

-hempz lip balm- (lip balm isn’t selected in profile, even an egg on this cannot make it interesting)

the childhood thrill of unwrapping gifts in anticipation of a new toy and discovering a pack of socks or underoos came back in adulthood with finding a lip balm in a beauty subscription bag/box reveal.

I am actually rather liking this month’s! (last few were not good for me…)
– The concealer stick(as long as this is in porcelain I will be happy…if not they will be hearing from me lol as I AM nearly porcelain haha)

– Tonymoly masks( I nearly requested these, so I am happy for them! – although I have a bit of backlog on the masks I have…)

– Eyebrow cream thing(lol, I don’t care for it but perfect gift for my Grandma who loves her eyebrow stuff -and I am in need of a gift stash to bring to her!!)

– Moisturizing “sorbet” (funny name, thought I would try it – my requested item so I’m happy w/ it!)

– Tarte bronzer….(yea, this one is pissing me off as bronzer is on my opt out list!! Emailing them about this and seeing what they do. Their response will let me know whether to continue subbing… It is not cool to have an opt out and still send it to people! Of course mistakes happen, if they make it right they will have a loyal customer! 😉

Other than the infuriating bronzer, I am quite pleased w/ my box! Def getting my value on this one, especially since I can ALWAYS need/use another concealer to try out!! (raccoon eyes here…)

Only bummed I couldn’t get the banana powder or the jersey shores(or even the hemp) lip balm! Maybe next month!

And I’m okay with this bag. Here’s to hoping the color of this liquid lipstick is nothing like the color of the liquid lipstick I received in a beauty box from last month. Berries are just not the color for me.
