Our Anonymous tipster is back! Are you ready for secret potential spoilers for the January 2017 Play! By Sephora box?

giphy-71

According to Anonymous, here are 6 of the items that may be sampled in January:

sephora-january-2017

What do you think of the spoilers? FYI - this is NOT necessarily a box variation, but just 6 known items that should be in January boxes.

Anonymous has 100% track record of giving us accurate spoilers, so I'm feeling confident about this list, plus it matches the theme well:

This January, we’re going to be resetting our beauty routines with a selection of super-effective, innovative makeup, skin care, and hair care. Plus, our unboxing video will feature a surprise guest! Who do you think it’s going to be?

HINT:

Thanks to her line you’ll be turning heads from afar,

Cause no one knows hair like a stylist to the stars…

Spoiler Alert: In January, we'll be playing with complexion shades. Complete your PLAY! PROFILE to help us pick the right one for you!

Here's more from Anonymous:

After seeing the list of potential items for January, I finally signed up for Play.  Assuming the dozen or so items are correct, there are enough products that interest me that I decided to take the plunge.  If I could curate my own box, I would pick the Ouai Treatment Masque, Tarte FRXXXTION Stick, Farmacy Honey Potion, AmorePacific Cushion Compact, Drunk Elephant Lala Retro, and Pinrose Wild Child.  Of course, chances are probably good that I’ll get everything else, but I’m encouraged enough to try.  🙂

(None of these spoilers are confirmed as accurate or as belonging to any single box, I’m just talking out loud to myself–and laying low because I think they’re on to me, ha!)

I hope everyone has a wonderful 2017!

Make sure to update your Profile and select your skin tone color if you haven't already! (Find it under My Account > My Information.)

Ughhh this is my first month. Got an email from Sephora about a sneak peak of the first box. None of these spoilers were there.

Reply ButtonReply

Judi

Showed Mascara, smashbox lip, living proof perfect hair day, something Energie de vie and a perfume sample.

Sara

Getting box 450C. I am (im)patiently awaiting reveals! This will be my first Sephora box. 🙂

Emily

I’m getting box 443 but there is no letter anywhere and it says “out of stock” ?! 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Kc

I called them today since my box 443 says out of stock online. When they looked it up it says “at warehouse” on their end and hasn’t shipped yet.

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

Oh okay, thank you! 🙂

Toni

I would love to try any and all of these items, they would all be new to me.They all have great reveiws hope I get them alllllll

Annie S.

I am also getting box 435 Play A- we need someone to crack Sephora’s mysterious codes 🙂

I’d also like to repeat what another poster said earlier- all these items won’t be in the boxes, it might be just one or two of these, if any. I think OUAI might be in most boxes, though.

I am getting #468 but there’s no letter ANYWHERE on there?!?! So idk what is going on with mine 🙁

Tamara Dungan

I sent them a message about the letters (I’m an E, Caucasian, medium skin tone, brown eyes & hair) to see if they would respond and let me know what the letter meant. Got this vague response I’ll post below…If it doesn’t mean anything, why is it there???

“Response By Email (01/04/2017 02:26 PM)
Dear Tamara,

Thank you for contacting Sephora.com regarding your order.

It is the type of Play box you are going to receive. There isn’t any specific meaning to the letter E.

If we can assist you further, please contact us again by via phone at 1-877-SEPHORA (1-877-737-4672).

Regards,

Ehimen.

My January Play box order says “Box E” in my account info…what does that mean? Can you tell me what the E represents? Inquiring minds want to know. Lol Thanks!

I’d love to get the Ouai, drunk elephant, and tarte. Also, since we’re always going to get a perfume sample I’d like the pinrose since I’ve wanted to try it but live in a rural area and my Sephora doesn’t have any pinrose in-store to try. One question if anyone knows – I’m getting box #435 but have heard other people say they have a letter listed alongside their box number. Anyone getting box #435 have a letter listed? I’ve heard A -E are confirmed listed which means 5 confirmed variations. Thanks for any help w/ this as other spoiler sites are saying they’re listing by letter! Liz’s site here usually lists them first but I tend to look everywhere lol 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Jacki

I’m getting 443 & 476. No letters. And #443 says out of stock instead of processing.

Reply ButtonReply

Kc

I’m getting 443 and it says out of stock too. Hasn’t been shipped yet so I’m panicking that they ran out and I’ll end up w crappy stuff instead.

Karen

Oh one more thing – anybody else getting different products listed on the Sephora site from those in their box?? I’ve subscribed 3 months and in Nov and Dec I got the products listed on the back of my play points card but both months it listed 2-3 different products online. My box # products matched Liz’s info last month it just lists a different box #s products online. Weird!

Reply ButtonReply

missy

I really really hope I get the drunk elephant cream. I want to try their products so bad!

Reply ButtonReply

BeautyLove

Yasssssssssssss to all of these. Keep this up Sephora. This is way better than last month. Way better.

Reply ButtonReply

BeautyLove

That honey mask is AWESOME. I’ve used it for months and it really helps with inflammation and redness/dryness. I love Drunk Elephant products too, that cream is good stuff. And I’ve been anxious to try Ouai products. I’m so excited for this box, especially after last month’s awful box. I gave away 2 of my 5 products form the December box. Keep this up, Sephora! I like this direction.

Reply ButtonReply

Mary

Can’t wait, really like Sephora play.

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

I got an email today that my payment information didn’t process correctly. Well, of course it didn’t, that card was canceled due to fraud. I changed the information online last month but somehow they managed to charge my old card anyway for the December box…

But, not going to fix it. I am just not feeling this box lately. I threw out the setting spray and dry shampoo last month and was not too thrilled at getting two bronzers over the summer.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

Reagan why did you throw out the setting spray…I would have took it or swapped it…I love the ud setting spray.

Reply ButtonReply

Mel

I’m getting 468 D. I’m excited and nervous about the skin tones. I wouldn’t mind concealer samples, but I really hope they don’t go into foundation.

Reply ButtonReply

Chrissy

I’m also getting 468 D, my skin color is fair.

Reply ButtonReply

MzBev

I’m getting the same box variation with the D also. Has anyone figured out what the letters mean? Lol.

We need the spoilers with numbers to be revealed.
C’mon Anonymous! 🙂

Dawn

Looks like I’m getting box #476 hope it’s a good one! I also noticed the line that has “January 2017 Play” there is an “E” next to play on mine I wonder if everyone has the same letter

Reply ButtonReply

Raeline Peterson

Mine is 476 E also and im medium skin tone.

Reply ButtonReply

Samantha

Same! I have a light to medium complexion but selected medium on my profile. I have some products that are a little too light or too dark for my skin tone, so I can hopefully blend products if the color is too far off.

Amber

I’m getting #450 C – Skin tone light, blue eyes

Reply ButtonReply

b

Me, too (450 C). I’m skin tone light with blue eyes.

BeautyLove

I’m #476 E too! I’m African-American with brown hair, hazel eyes and light/medium skin.

Reply ButtonReply

EC

I’m an “E” girl too and I’m Caucasian with a light-medium skin tone and blue eyes. Here’s hoping the foundation works for all of us since it appears to be covering a pretty wide range of shades.

Dawn

Maybe the letters have something to do with eye color/skin tone because I thought my profile had my skin tone as light but when I checked it was medium and I have hazel eyes….I’m getting E as well. Guess I should have checked my profile since my tan is long gone lol

Becca

I’m getting #476 but there are no letters next to it.

Reply ButtonReply

amy harvey

I’m 476 with no letters anywhere what’s going on here

Raychel

Mine says “Play A” and box #435. Should be interesting to see what all this means! 🎉

Reply ButtonReply

Helen

Mine’s 435 A. I wonder if the numbers correlate to skin tone, I’m very fair.

ruizmaranda

Ugh im so frustrated. Ive been wanting sephora play box but its full. Im on the waiting list but its so frustrating seeing such great items and not getting them 😢…. okay mini rant over lol. I had to get that off my chest. Id vent to my bf but he doesn’t understand the beauty subscription box struggles lol

Reply ButtonReply

Kim

Just check on sephora at random intervals. I was able to subscribe randomly one day and it was at least a week before sephora sent me an email saying there were openings available.

Reply ButtonReply

Dena

Keep coming to msa and check for openings. That what not only I did ….yesterday I signed up, but I’ve read on HERE that other folks have done the same thing.

Reply ButtonReply

Stacey

I hope this winds up being my box! I would love to get a box with all of these products!
I wasn’t nearly as excited about last months, with the dry shampoo and red lipstick, but was able to trade the dry shampoo for a friends mascara so I wound up with two mascaras 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Eryn

I was debating on whether to keep Birchbox, try ipsy, or go for play….Play wins I think…And I’m going to gift myself 3/6 mo of Boxycharm!! There decision made!

Reply ButtonReply

Dena

Hello, I feel silly for asking…BUT, how do I know if I’ve finally got a subscription to “play”?? I got an email that said I was In, but when reading the email it was basically all the Sephora.com information. I went ahead and created an account and filled out my personal preferences. Is that my cue that I do now have a subscription or not?? I hope this makes sense.

Reply ButtonReply

Dena

Well, I answered my own question. Today I was on MSA, and signed up for play, they had some openings. I’m pretty happy. Now I’m wondering because I signed up on the 1st does that mean my first play will be in February. I hope not, either way I’m happy .😊

Kim

That honey potion is really good, I absolutely love it. Everything from that brand is wonderful. I got a jar of the sleep tight from popsugar and noticed a huge difference after only 4 used. The invincible serum makes an immediate diference in fine lines.

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

How can you tell what box number you are is it the first three numbers or last three numbers ? This is my first one

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

It is the last three numbers of the item # in your order.

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

Thank you

Ann

I do not like Tarte products at all, their formulations feel cheap. Love everything else.

Reply ButtonReply

Tamara

Really? I love Tarte and I’ve tried everything from MAC to MUFE to UD and on and on. I guess it’s good that we have so many options nowadays since we all like different things 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

My December box came to Texas where I live and for a week nothing happened and then I get notified it’s in New York…wtf…finally got it when it should have been here like 10 days ago :/
Anyone else have this problem?

Reply ButtonReply

nancy e holmes

Yes my box did the same, just to a different location..and in december they sent me 2 boxes

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

If only 1 of those items is in each bag its a win for me but Sephora if you are listening I really would love the Tarte cleanser.

Reply ButtonReply

Mayra

This looks to good to be true!!
I’m still using the serum from 2 boxes before. Last month was ok because it had things that I like and had tried. But I love when they send new stuff and expensive ones!
