The theme for the upcoming GlobeIn January 2017 Box is… Love!

Dearest friends,

This is the love box. Love is a box. Love is a box you are holding, a box you are opening. Love is an opening, a holding, is you. Love is a piece of chocolate broken off, a pile of sand blown into glass. Love is a wine, a quiet toast.

Love is a thoughtfully set table, a word of affirmation whispered softly to the self. Love is a napkin on the lap. Love is a woven bowl ready to be filled. Love is already.

In Kenya, the Caribbean, Mexico, and India, love is global and local at once. Love is an always bazaar, handmade and open to all, touching down wherever you are.

Warmly,
Genna
Artisan Box Curator

This company seems to have too many inventory issues for me to sub at this time. It’s been one thing after another and that makes me think they are not doing something right. I’ll wait till they work out all these kinks.

A bit of positivity: I spoke with customer service and they actually resolved all my issues. I recommend sending an email if you are unhappy, their CS is wonderful.

Renee

Globein CS is the best. I have always enjoyed working with them.

Happy to hear that. I’ve had a few “issues” in the past but their customer service has always been great to me and very helpful…that’s why I was surprised to read about all of the problems people were having and hopeful this was just a “glitch.”

2ND box…Defaulted to Pamper:( prolly gonna skip.

I’ve been a member for two years and my box was defaulted to “threads”, which is a box I had already skipped once because I don’t like the contents. I also never got my monthly email reminding me to go and change any settings. This love box must have sold out in less than 6 hours. I also missed out on the little dish that was a basket replacement two months ago that sold out within 6 hours, even though I went to select it immediately after I got the email. When they can’t offer long term subscribers their actual product it’s time for me to go. I cancelled my subscription, and am not really sorry to leave. Customer satisfaction has been declining for some time and my stress over a stupid subscription box has risen with each passing month.

Renee

I cancelled after December, in part because of their recent glitches. I like them a lot and love their business model, but you have to be able to deliver and I think they have grown too fast to do that reliably. Love should have been the default for existing customers as it has always been. If they could not do that, they should not have offered it as the monthly selection, but only as an add-on option or limited item that could be elected if available. Defaulting to old boxes is not acceptable.

I agree. They know how many subscriptions they have, so it’s not rocket science to know how much inventory to have in stock. What’s most frustrating is that we have ALREADY paid for this box! I ‘paid’ for it 6 months ago when they auto-charged my credit card. If the artist can’t meet the order, they should send emails to everyone saying 1/2 (or whatever) of you will get the Love Box this month, the other 1/2 will get box B, but items are also new. Then in February the second 1/2 will get Love and the first 1/2 will get box B. This shouldn’t be so hard for them, and it makes me think the company is imploding. Trying to get people to re-pay for boxes they either already own or have already said they don’t want is ridiculous. It’s a shame because I really like the items (when I get them, haha) and I respect the business model and liked feeling like I was helping the artists.

Sammee

It’s interesting that you say your default box was Threads and it was a box you skipped. I’m not a new subscriber either and my default option was Pamper – a box I had skipped because I didn’t like the contents. It sounds like they were running so low on Love that they went through their list and defaulted even long-term subscribers to boxes they had never received or skipped as if this was a great solution, perhaps not bothering or not caring to consider that the reason why someone may have passed on a box is because they simply didn’t like it. And on top of that they couldn’t be bothered to tell us what they were up to. We had to find out on our own. I’m sure they’ll issue a mea culpa later like they always do when stuff hits the fan, but it’s too little too late at this point. My feeling is that GlobeIn’s once great business practices have grown their customer base so much that they can’t keep up with the demand. So instead of limiting their number of customers to give all their subscribers a good experience, they’ve decided it would be better to rake in the money and give the majority of us a disappointing to sub par one. Well, I’m done with this experience and really wish I could immediately cancel. I’m just sorry that skipping this month’s box is going to prolong that. Sub boxes are supposed to be fun. When it gets stressful as you accurately say, it’s time to go.

Very well said!! My sub is up in January and I’m mad I don’t get the love box, it wasn’t even an option for me. I’m definitely not renewing nor will I ever sub again, they’ve really gone downhilll in my opinion.

Aly

Same here! I am defaulted to Pamper and I skipped this box because I didn’t like it. I am really upset about the “Love” box. I am a longterm suscriber and I didn’t have the option to receive this box. They should have made the “Love” box a special edition because of the shortage. It’s not fair that some suscribers will receive it, and others won’t.

Paloma

I agree completely. If they could guarantee us a Love box when it comes back in stock, then I wouldn’t be so annoyed. I don’t care if it’s late as long as I get it. But I am bothered by how they seem to be accepting more new customers than they can handle without FIRST letting us know what changes will be made to accommodate them. It’s not fair for subscribers and it’s not a good impression that they are making. Quite disappointed.

Cindy

Went to my account, could not choose Love box so I skipped the month. Can’t believe that option isn’t available so early!

Reply ButtonReply

Marna

I have been a subscriber for a while and my default is pamper right now. very upset.

Reply ButtonReply

Darlene

Been a subscriber for a while and it wasn’t available neither. If they are that limited on supplies, maybe they should of had it as a limited option instead of a main box.

Reply ButtonReply

LB

I’m confused. If you’re not a brand new subscriber, your box should default to Love. When I log in it tells me my January theme is Love and then asks if I want to switch to another of the options instead (based on availability).

Pami

This is really disappointing. How can it be sold out already, especially for people who are already monthly subscribers and didn’t get an email or anything to go and choose it? Sad.

Elle Em

I skipped January, too. I am a new subscriber and sad to start the year this way.

How does this work out with billing, etc.? I don’t know if it’s too early and I haven’t had enough coffee, but I’m having trouble understanding the FAQ on skipping a month… !

Reply ButtonReply

mary

They don’t credit your card back for the month you skipped, they just tack an extra month on at the end of your subscription.

Elle Em

I’m glad I read your comment. It reminded me to check mine and Love wasn’t an option for me, either. 🙁

Pami

What I love about this subscription is that they keep the colors of all the items matching month to month! Every new box has something that goes well with an item from the previous box. You can see how much effort and thought go in.
*This is also why this company is evil, because now I’ll never be able to unsubscribe – I’ll always be like “Oooh but I need this to complete my set!”*

Reply ButtonReply

Elle Em

That is really cool, but I would totally love to see more red or warm color options. 🙂 My house and kitchen have warmer tones. Those candles in the Comfort box would have looked amazing in my house if they were black, gold, and red!

Sara

FYI, this box is already sold out. So if you were hoping to start a subscription with it (like me) you’re out of luck. =/

Reply ButtonReply

Shay

Seriously?! I was just about to subscribe. Oh well…that’s what I get for waiting lol.

Reply ButtonReply

Laurie

I don’t know if this has been posted here yet, but I got an email from GlobeIn last night and they are doing away with their Benefit Basket. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

Hope we get at least two glasses. One glass is fairly useless IMHO.

Reply ButtonReply

Deborah

Would they send one wine glass? Like they usually do with mugs, glass vessels, dishes….etc so you have to have two subs to get a matching set? Just saying, its hard to swap for extras of anything Globe in, or even ebay or buy it on their website. I am a huge fan, but the dishes scenario was kind of bad for me this time to collect a set of four. Wahhhhhh! I am a baby I know.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

You can usually add an extra glass or mug etc. in the “add on” options for that month’s box. It’s not as good as them sending a set of glasses, but at least it’s an option.

Reply ButtonReply

AGootee

Well, we know that love is NOT a teacup..lol

Reply ButtonReply

Sammee

The bowl that the cactus plant is in is gorgeous. I hope that’s in the box.

Reply ButtonReply

LB

I like it too! I was hoping they might have a nice planter maybe for a spring box…

Reply ButtonReply

LB

So if we can pick out some clues from the theme spoiler like last month…chocolate, hopefully those gorgeous wine glasses, a napkin (which could be great with that bread bowl from a few months ago) and maybe another bowl (or is that maybe just the monthly basket)? Sounds exciting. I’d expect them to sell out if those wine glasses are in it too…I got the tumblers that look similar in the Benefit Basket and they are so awesome I wish I could get more but of course they’ve been sold out on the website.

I don’t know I’m getting disappointed with Globein and won’t be renewing my sub in January. It seems like they’ve grown so much and they’re having a hard time handling it. I don’t like the disclaimer that they will probably run out of boxes so not everyone might not get January’s box and most of us in December won’t get the teacup. It’s super disappointing.

Reply ButtonReply

LB

I understand your disappointment but at least they are warning new subscribers as they sign up that they might not be able to get this box. And they aren’t taking it away from current subscribers. At least they are being up front and honest instead of bait and switch. They also explained that the problem with the tea cup was weather related and it’s hard to win against mother nature! And they are trying to do a good replacement with Le Souk since so many people like them. In my experience with Globein they always seem to genuinely want to make their customers happy and are disappointed too when something goes wrong which means a lot to me. Also, it’s gotta be alot harder to coordinate directly with artisans across the globe and buy relatively high volume orders for what they are used to (I’m assuming)….which I a great, life changing “problem” for these people in need to have! Remember, this isn’t mass produced junk you can buy at Walmart that’s always in stock. That’s why I love it!

Reply ButtonReply

LB

I had no idea they were taking it away from current subscribers until I read the comments here. Mine appears to be defaulted to Love. I’m hoping it’s just ANOTHER website glitch cause that doesn’t seem right, I agree….

mary

The problem is they ARE taking it away from current subscribers.

Pami

They warned new subscribers but it looks like many older subscribers aren’t getting the box either. Customer service rep said they may restock the Love box in the future if enough people message them about it…..

Shawn

I agree 100%.

Marna

I hope it is those wine glasses they are gorgeous.

Jen

Those wine glasses 😍😍😍
