I signed up again just for the palette Tracking/shipment info received today. BoxyCharm sent dry shampoo too. Few months back it was Oribe products. Wish boxes would allow us to pick all makeup/fragrance boxes, skincare/hair care or combo. I think if a company had that option they would do pretty good. Now I get hair/skincare products that I never use so it feels like I’m shorted. I quit Birchbox because they seem out of ideas and quit PopSugar because the box would arrive and I was in no hurry to open it decided to go with BoxyCharm, Scentbird & ipsy. My beagles boxes are better than mine my dad spoils him he gets 6 boxes we donate whatever he can’t have we donate to Animal Aid or he gives them to his girlfriend she lives next door Matilda she is a boxer..lol

Well…here we go again. After being overcharged for my December box (signed up for 4 mo/$10) I contacted CS and was told they corrected my account to reflect the special holiday price. Today, I received an email saying that they were not going to honor the holiday price t b/c according to their records I have been an active customer since March 2016….Although I canceled my account in September! I only ordered in December to take advantage of the holiday special…and to give Allure BB another chance. I feel like such a fool. Does anyone out there subscribe to Ipsy? If so, what is your experience with their CS?

I emailed Allure and they stated that one of the products was stuck in customs. They said that nobody has been charged yet and that they expect to have everything soon. That said not to worry, that they should be sending out our boxes early next week.

I was going to contact them today, as I realised around this time last month we had January’s spoilers. I hope this doesn’t mean we’ll get late or no spoilers, as I use them to decide if I’ll skip that month or accept it. Thank you very much for sharing the update! This is my first month with Allure, so I’m a little antsy. A little nervous as well since I’ve read the problems some of you have had (“All is going smoothly” is my new mantra!) Here’s to hoping we get shipping notices and some spoilers for February soon!

I still haven’t been billed or recieved a tracking email. I’ve had allure for over a year and I’ve never been billed this late in the month. I love the boxes but hate the uneasy feeling every month wondering if they are doing their job communicating with the customer.

I’m super annoyed because I had my boxes suspended, but really love this box, so I decided to resume them starting January 1st. 4 days later I was charged, and then I got my tracking info January 7th. Opened my box today and it’s Decembers box, which I didn’t want. Now I’m going to be billed twice in one month and that’s NOT what I wanted. Will Allure fix this?

After signing up for the 4 mo/$10 special, I received the December box and I LOVE everything! I will try/use it all. My extra was the Kevin Murphy Hair Moisturizer. Most items were boxed and foil-sealed, which I love and appreciate. The January box looks amazing…can’t wait to receive it! Happy New Year everybody 🙂

I also signed up on December 17th and haven’t heard anything about when my box will ship. I did email them but when they finally got back to me they just apologized for the delay in my shipment and that I will receive an email with tracking information when it ships.

Well, let me try to remember….I already had an account set up and cancelled back in September. I signed back up in the middle of December. I was automatically reinstated w/ my original acct. I waited about a week and received no word on shipping. I checked my payment info and realized my original credit info was not saved and quickly submitted new info for payment. About 2 days later I got my shipping notice. And I received my box on the 28th. So I think I signed back up sometime during the week of the 16th. But from past experience, they don’t always send shipping info. If you need to talk to customer service, call them via phone. Online chat is a waste of time.

I am absolutely LIVID with Allure’s terrible customer service. They made a mistake on my order and are not willing to do a THING, even after admitting to me on the phone that they made a mistake! I have done a chargeback with my bank who is in full agreement that their customer service is terrible.

This is officially the worst sub box company I have ever dealt with. Take my advice and avoid them!

I agree heartily with you about their terrible customer service and their ‘other’ shady practices which I will address in a moment. Allure and I had an unplanned break up after I had a very interesting and yes, awful call with customer service. I was not even unhappy with the box; I just had a question about changing my payment option. so I used live chat. I was told previously that I should not cancel my sub (a three month) until Id gotten my last box or I might not receive it if my account was canceled. Weird but I was ok with that info. I got my third box and was just gonna cancel but I decided to ask for help, live. After some time chatting about their policies, I asked for a confirmation about how many boxes I had been charged for. 4, she says, 4 boxes. I tell her I am confused as I had only subscribed for a three month (beginning with the October box) I had just received my Dec box but somehow Id paid for 4…. she got snippy when i told her I wanted a refund as well as a cancellation. I haven’t seen it show up on my online statement yet and will do a charge-back if necessary. Watch your statements ladies.. I’ve read about this happening with several of these companies.

So funny you mention that, I didn’t call planning on cancelling or charging back either. I expected a resolution, as you would get when any reputable company makes a mistake. But yes, I ended up fuming by the end of that phone call and shortly thereafter on the phone with my bank.

The worst CS I’ve ever experienced from a sub box, by far. Sorry to hear it happened to you as well.

Thanks to the people who remarked on whether to use dry shampoo on my dog….great answers. And Coleen for noticing the volume texture spray on the photo. One can only hope!

Does anyone know if suspending shipments means they do not charge you and allow you to skip a month without being charged? Or does that mean they will charge you and not ship your box until you resume? Thanks!

If you suspend shipment.. they do not charge you…. then you can restart the box when you want to

Read the fine print!! it says that basically, if you change anything , even the payment type, you risk not receiving your box and there is nothing you can do about it according to Allure. I bet the BBB has somethng to say about that.

Has anyone used dry shampoo to freshen up their dog?

I guess it would depend on the ingredients……just a thought since I don’t use this.

I love the idea of freshening up shoes.

Oh my god I didn’t even think about using it on shoes! I hate the way dry shampoo feels and never use it on my hair, but I could surely use it on my nieces shoes!

I feel that asking the question is responsible pet ownership. If you don’t know something then ask. How else will you learn?. Not cool to beat someone up for gathering information to make an informed choice.

Anyone who does not reach out and do the research before putting anything on their pet, yeah you have a point, but this is obviously not the case.

Making a blanket statement like that is just nasty and unwarranted.

I’m a pro groomer and I generally don’t recommend using any type of human products on dogs because of the fragrances that are used. Some dogs are really sensitive. I avoid all the dog shampoos, etc, that are highly fragranced as well. Dogs have an acute sense of smell and what smells lovely to us, can smell way too strong to them. Some will vomit if they overpowered by scent, and some will get flaky dry skin. I try to use the gentlest shampoos and conditioners on them in my shop.

What is texturing spray anyways? My hair is thick, tangly and curly so I don’t put many products in my hair, especially not hairspray! I’ve gotten the texturing spray before but I always regift it without paying attention to it.

It kind of gives you body and lift. I have curly hair too. Sometimes the stuff you put on your hair will weigh your hair down. so you can put it on your roots and pick it up. I cannot use dry shampoo. so is the spray texturing or dry shampoo, anyone know>=?

This months box looks good. But I canceled because I didn’t want anything in the box. I did like November’s box But not that much. I tried to use December’s products. Didn’t like them. This subscription not for me. I like play by Sephora more. I resubcribed to Play by Sephora.

Hope for the best and do yourself a favor: Get on the live chat and confirm the number of charges to your account. Ask directly and cut and save your chat. I wanted to cancel after my initial 3 month trial was over. Seems easy. I decided to do it via live chat. I was told previously that if I tried to cancel before id received my last box, i would NOT receive it so I waited. The day I got the 3rd box, I chatted with the live person and asked her to assist me so I could re-join with a link I had for a great deal. (10 bux a month for 4 mos) I was curious and asked her how many charges and she said that this was my 4th box. PROBLEM – I subbed in Oct and got that box, then Nov, and now my third was Dec. Where did this mysterious 4th box and month come from or go? I need to get into my account later and find the exact dates I was charged as I had not looked. It seemed straight forward as Id subbed for 3 mos. The chat lady got really curt and rude. Then agreed to refund me for a month but refused to email me a confirm so I have my chat log and will confirm with my CC company today or tomorrow. Beware and keep an eye on your money. I LOVED my Allure box but now Im done with this company. You cant even look at your own purchase history when looking at your own account.. I call Bull***T on you Allure.

They charge before the box is sent out. It’s a subscription service so this is fairly normal practice – I think your case is more buyer mistake than Allure

Thanks for the warning. I will keep an eye on my account. I resubbed for the 4 mo.@ $10 deal. I have subbed w/Allure before and never had an issue with charges….but will remain cautious and alert. Cheers!

If you’re talking about the coupon link, you don’t need any link or code. They always offer 5 dollars off the first months box. But then they ask if you would like to pay five bucks for a year (or six months, I can’t remember.) of their Allure magazine. I opted in, but you don’t have to! Also, I believe if you buy in any month, even on the 31st you will get that month first. For instance, I bought my beauty box sub on October 29th so I got October’s box first. That’s kinda nice in some ways but I assumed I would be getting the November box first. Now I get each month’s boxes the month after. I got Novembers box in December, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting December’s box in January. No surprises for me! 🙁 Not that I wouldn’t search for spoilers anyway though >;)

that is not what happened to me. I subbed in Oct and got the Oct box then nov and recently my third. I was shocked to find out via live chat that this was supposed to be my 4th box. What the f*** did they charge me for then? Yeah, after a nasty customer service response, two actually, I was told I got a refund.

Sometimes I am less than thrilled with Allure’s spoilers, but darn if I don’t end up using most of the items up, unlike things I receive in other boxes. I have decided this is my least exciting, but most practical box for my needs (besides Dermstore’s Beauty Fix which I also like, sometimes love).

I’m super excited for the shadow pallet because I can only wear cool colors, and it seems the makeup I receive is 90% warm tones–I loved the bronze formulation that came in an earlier box, but can’t wear that shade (even on my cheeks because it’s too shimmery). I love those icy pink lipsticks that everyone hates too, just have a color tone to my skin that takes all those colors so this is a huge spoiler excitement for me, for once :^)

I have good and bad feedback for everyone subbing today as someone who has been off and on with Allure since June of 2015

The good: I did receive the Doucce single a couple months ago. It was amazing, really impressed me with the pigmentation and smoothness (of course I totally disassembled it for my z palette and the inside is NOT magnetic..So don’t do that if you’re getting this one lol!)

The bad: everyone who signed up today will likely get December. Which in fairness, wasn’t a terrible box. I just didn’t want it. I know this because I reactivated for 1/1 and I was charged today. So I’ll likely get a double shipment.

Ah well at least I skipped November successfully, that was a dud imo.
