Bumby Box is a monthly children’s toy subscription box that focuses on curating boxes to reflect and promote your baby’s new interests and developmental milestones. They also only feature items from environmentally friendly companies!

They offer boxes for ages newborn to 5 years old. You get to select your child’s age group and customize your profile according to your child’s information at sign-up.

Good to know: you can pick between monthly or quarterly shipments.

I love how they put this on their site: “we care about connecting families and believe that play should transcend all boundaries.” I read somewhere that babies’ and children’s job/”work” is to play! It’s everything to them at this stage.

Every box includes a folded info card that clarifies which box you got and lists activity ideas for playing with the included items.

The info card includes some very thorough information about nurturing children’s imagination through play and building a treasure box for your kids and movement activities. I love how many ideas and how much effort they put into this part.

And, of course, the info card also lists pictures and names for every item they feature that month, along with details about how each item helps development!

Manhattan Toy Big Top Animal Train Play Book – Value $16 (found on Amazon for $12.72)

This is a soft book that has a little follow-along finger puppet. It has lots of different animals and they’re all party/circus themed. Very cute.

Each page has a different feeling and patterned fabrics and cute animals. My son has had some fun with this so far.

Sounds Like Fun Ratchet Roller – Value $4.85?

This easy-to-hold toy makes a loud ratchet sound when you spin the yellow and orange part. It’s attention-catching and requires some coordination to hold it and spin so that is a skill they can develop with this.

Sounds Like Fun Chime Bell – Value $4.85

This is a great little bell. I love the bright color and it’s also easy to hold. The three little jingle bells make it really fun for my son to shake.

West Co. Toddler Maracas – Value $5

These are good quality and easy-to-clean little maracas. The textured handles are easy for my toddler to hold. I love that they gave us a pair because I can show him a “maraca dance” and have him mimic.

Plan Toys Solid Drum – Value $22.99

The biggest item in this box was this sustainable wooden drum.

I absolutely love this drum. It’s a nice size and feels so high quality. I love the print, too.

The sound is really pretty, too. It’s a higher, melodic, wood tone. The design on the top allows different places on the drum to have different pitches. I also love that it has little rubber feet on the bottom to hold it up off the floor so that it resonates perfectly.

Verdict: This is my second Bumby Box and I have a serious subscription box crush on it. I love the toys they send because they always feel high quality and it’s so important to me to see the skills and concepts they help my son develop. The info card is so informative and helpful for parents, and it really makes this box a little more than just opening up a new batch of toys – it makes a monthly (or quarterly) educational play time with goals and methods to guide your teaching. I love it. As far as value goes, everything adds up to $52.41, which just over breaks even with the cost of the box. I’d love to see a little more value but I am not mad at all because I love everything they sent me, and I value the information and guidance they include for parents.
