Loot Crate Level Up Subscription Box Review – January 2016

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

Loot Crate recently began offering a separate subscription from their monthly boxes called Level Up. The items sent in their Level UP subscriptions are not repetitive products from their monthly boxes but do tie into the same monthly themes. There are 5 different subscription plans, each offer a different curation of products: Level Up Wearable, Level Up Socks, Level Up Shirt, Level Up Accessories, and Level Up Bundle (Level Up Bundle is a combination of the Wearable and the Socks subscriptions).

This is a review of all four different LVL UP subs – the Wearable, Shirt, Socks, and Accessories subscriptions.

LVL UP BY LOOTCRATE JAN 2016 - items 1

Exclusive Destiny Socks – value: $9?

My husband loves playing Destiny! These socks are great. They’re nice and thick and feel like a good quality.

I Believe Alien Socks – value: $8?

These are cute! Definitely quirky and fun.

Loot Crate Exclusive Hearts Invaders Shirt – value: $20?

I love this shirt! It’s so cute. My husband thinks it’s funny, too, which is good because he’s the one who will be wearing it! It’s a really nice and soft fabric, too!

Loot Crate Exclusive Space Invaders Hoodie – value: $35?

This hoodie is great. The length of the torso and sleeves is just right for my (tall) husband, and the material is comfy. I like the design, too! It’s subtle and just a space invader here or there on the fabric is green (see below).

Here’s a better shot of how there’s just a couple invaders on the whole shirt that are green.

LVL UP BY LOOTCRATE JAN 2016 - items 5

Star Trek Friendship Necklace – value: $25?

This is definitely a unique piece. I love Star Trek! The two pieces magnetically clip together.

Together they say “I have been and always shall be your friend,” which is something Spock says to Kirk, if I’m not mistaken. (Cue the mental image of Spock and Kirk wearing these friendship necklaces! Haha.)

Verdict: I’m having a lot of fun with the Loot Crate Level Up collections! Everything seems to be very good quality and I think you get a nice value for what you pay for each subscription. My values are estimates since things are exclusive to Loot Crate, but I added up about $97 in products for the $48.96 cost of all four Level Up Subs totaled (Wearables, Accessories, Shirt, and Socks subscriptions).

  1. We took advantage of the sale and got a couple level ups at the discounted price. I love invasion theme so it seemed like a good time to try it out. I got the t-shirt in my size and I love it! I got the socks for my hubby and we both Love the space ship socks!

    • I forgot to comment on the friendship necklace. It is such a memorable line, I can only imagine it being said by Lenard Nemoy. It made me a little teary eyed.

  2. I thought the hoodie ran a little small but otherwise loved the box.
