July Sample Society Boxes Available

Sample Society Box

Thank you to Samaria, Christina, Lacey, and Heather for letting us know that the July Sample Society boxes are available for purchase. (There are different Kit variations you can buy – which I believe means different shades of the lipgloss and possibly the nail polish).

  1. UPDATE: I originally ordered kit B/D but my shipping notice showed kit C/D. Well, two days ago I only received kit C (I think it’s kit C since it had Ruby Opera). I never received kit D. I just called and the rep apologized saying first that a replacement should not have been made automatically and second for the missing kit D. The rep offered to give me a full refund and for me to keep kit C. But, I requested that they ship out kit D and to send kit A to replace the out of stock kit B. So that’s what they are doing. He said I could still keep kit C for all the trouble. I’m gifting that to a friend. So all in all, I got great customer service.

  2. it is official, hate this Company. I ordered 2 July boxes and only recieved one by fedex this morning and it was missing the Nail polish I emailed them and told them I had ordered two boxes and I missed types saying August boxes instead of July. Anyways I told them only one box arrived and about the missing polish. they responded and basically told me they are not replacing my items as they have replaced items for me in the past. Excuse me thats the reason i Cancelled this box because every other month I was missing a item or a item was broken. I responded by telling them legally they have to give me what I paid for and if they didnt send me the missing box or refund me the 15 i paid for it. I would take the necessary legal action. I think this company is fraudulent and rude. I hate this company and will never sign up for their box ever, ever again. If this company went out of business I would smile. How they ever manage to keep customers with service like this is beyond me. So my warning to future customers, beware, they wont replace items for their mistakes but rather blame and punish you for them.

    • What happened to the second box? Was it sent separately or did they refund you for the box that didn’t show up?
      I ordered kit B and D but they changed my order to kit C and D (I already have kit C) and shipping showed one tracking for both C and D but yesterday I only received kit C. I’m wondering if the second box will come separately or not at all??

  3. I had originally ordered box B and C. Today I received box C (which I love) I logged onto my account to check out the status of my box b and found out it had been replaced with box C. I reached out to customer service and they were able to stop the shipment and refunded my money for that box since I do not want 2 of box C. I am super bummed I was not able to try out 2 different polish and lip colors, but I am thankful the customer service was so quick to respond and offer a refund. I really love all of the products in the box and can’t wait to try out the hair mask!

    • Maybe that is where it went wrong for me. I ordered box B. I did cancel the order.

  4. A little disappointed. I purchased Kits B and D last week right when this post went up and was confirmed for both kits. Received an email today saying that my shipment was delayed but was confirmed for C and D which I think have the same nail polish colors in them :(. Apparently kit B went out of stock and was delayed on the website. Really wanted the color Champers from box B and that is why I initially purchased.

  5. I received 2 emails with delay in shipment then right away a shipping notification, but my order changed! I ordered kit B and D (verified in my confirmation email) and now the shipping notification shows kit C and D! My July SS box showed that I received kit C with the Ruby Opera Lippie and I don’t want 2 of it. When (if) I get the boxes, I will contact CS, they are usually pretty good.

    • Adding…just looked at the website and it looks like kit B is sold out so they probably substituted my kit B for kit C.

  6. I haven’t received my box yet. Sample Society is aware and emailed me that it should arrive tomorrow. Is anyone else experiencing this?

    • I’ve gotten two e-mails from them saying the box is not delivering as expected. Then I got a shipment notice, which was later cancelled. I have no idea where my box is or when it will ship.

      • I cancelled my box today. It was to arrive Saturday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday, and now it says Friday. I’ve contacted customer service a few times and all they say is that it will ship that day and arrive the next day. It hasn’t. I wouldn’t cancelled if they said it was being delayed for a reason, but being told that it will be shipped that day is a different story.

  9. I looked at my order history and it says in July I got July Kit A. My gloss was coral and my polish was champers which is different from what someone else above says was their kit A so?

  10. I was going to purchase a July box. Can someone post the different combinations of lipstick and polish in boxes a through d? I called and customer service no longer has that information

  12. This was a great box. I still use everything. I canceled tho after the yuck Nov box and then seeing the Dec spoiler on MUT.

  13. What a shame the boxes started so great like this and initially just after the revamp but turned into a virtually worthless pile of freebie/drugstore junk for the same price. I never received a full size anything in my 3 months subbed. Just tiny samples and travel minis. Every box felt like they tossed in random leftovers from last months (years?). I can’t seem to sub when things are great. I’m cursed so if you see me subbing, run the other way!

  14. I don’t understand why they don’t just list what’s in each box. I would buy 2 boxes if I was guaranteed the other 2 polishes. But I’m not buying any because I don’t want 2 more of the same box I already have.

  15. I LOVED that box! But I got 2 of them back in July so I think I’m good.

    For anyone considering, the Fekkai itself makes it worth it. Love this box.

  16. What is the difference between a and b versions of the box?

    • The differences are the lip color and polish color. I scrolled through old message boards on MUT to see if I could get a hint (Googled Sample Society July 2014). I originally received Kit A, which had the Ruby Opera (red) lip color and Old Bill polish. Today I ordered Kit B, which should have the coral lip color and Champers polish. *fingers crossed*

  17. I was only able to add kit A to my cart. Let me know if anyone else has any luck purchasing a different kit. Thanks so much!

    • You go to the option arrow and it shows you kit A, B, C or D and choose your letter option.

      • I did that, but once they were in my cart they were all listed as kit A. Not sure what I am doing wrong?

      Thanks so much for your email. We apologize for any confusion with this. Let’s see what we can do to make sure that you receive the July Sample Society Kit B.

      Currently we are experiencing a website glitch which despite which box you add to the cart it will say “Kit A” when you checkout. If you select the Kit B box, this is the box that will be sent despite the cart reading “Kit A.” You will see this reflected when you receive an email confirmation of your order. We have reported this issue to our tech team and they are trying to fix on our website right now.

          • I ordered kit B and C I think I would be really happy with any of the colors. I just wanted to try my best to get 2 different boxes hoping they would have different polish and lip colors.

      • I ordered Kits B and D, and didn’t realize til after I checked out it said that I ordered two of Kit A. I really don’t want the Ruby Red lippie (I already have it), much less two of them! Anything I need to do to make sure I at least get two different sets? I realize I may get stuck with the Red if you’ve changed up the lettering, but am really hoping not to get two of them.

        • Anddddd….. I just got the follow-up email and it said I ordered two “D” sets. =( Is there anything I can do to at least make sure I get two different boxes???

          There are serious issues with other areas of your site right now too! I also ordered a one of the sample mystery boxes, and it kept putting the wrong one in my cart (e.g., I tried to order the $25 one, it gave me the $15 one – I think that one worked after about the tenth time I removed and added them back.)

        • Shelley, I would probably contact Customer Service. Between Beauty Bar and Wag, I have always had a great experience with them. They are located in Jersey City, and you will get a live person. In my experience, if I have been unhappy, I either get a replacement or a credit on my account. They don’t even think twice. It’s a big reason that I’m still hanging in there with Sample Society even though the last two months haven’t been stellar. I figure, if I get Kit A, I’ll contact them and they’ll fix it one way or another. Good luck!
