Beauty Box 5 Subscription Box Review & Coupon - August 2014 Lip Gloss

Nanacoco Lip Gloss in Popular - FULL SIZE! Value $4

Style Essentials Nail Polish -.25 oz Value $4?

At first look in the box I thought this lip gloss was ModelCO, but the packaging just looks similar. The brand Nanacoco is new to me, and I liked this lipgloss. It provides a good amount of color and shine, and isn't too sticky.

I couldn't find this nail polish brand online (I think it's just a generic polish), but I love the color for fall, and it's 4-free, so no complaints!

Beauty Box 5 Subscription Box Review & Coupon - August 2014 Purlisse

Novex Brazilian Keratin Treatment - Value $1?

Pure-lisse SPF 30 Sunscreen – .5 oz Value $16

La Fresh Travel-Lite Makeup Remover Wipes -  Value $2.50

Well, this is the time when I'd normally complain about all the Purlisse SPF in subscription boxes, but I need some travel sized SPFs for an upcoming vacation so this one is going straight to my carry-on!

Verdict: I paid about $8 for this box (annual subscription with coupon) and I received about $27 worth of products. I thought everything was a good size, and I I'll use everything so I'm happy with the value. What did you think of Beauty Box 5 this month?

Beauty Box 5 has a free sample box available (pay $5 shipping). You can find it in their shop. It’s all foil packets.

I’m not going for it because I’ve already tried about 1/3 of the products and another 1/3 seem to be self-tanning related. But thought I’d share for anyone who is interested.

liz- i’m so surprised you liked this lip gloss! it seemed really sticky to me, and that is usually something I don’t care about. Other than that I got the same box as you, and like some other people I received a confetti nail polish topper in which and green.

Even at a discounted price, I won’t be signing up for beauty box.. I’ve looked at the list of brands they partner with… I don’t like most of them, or I can get it at Ross or TJMaxx for cheap anyways.

Super sick of Pur~lisse. In every box this summer. My polish was a blue confetti. Great for a teen, but I’m a little old for it myself. I wish they’d customize the makeup a bit. I could never get away with the bright fuchsia lip gloss. I was quizzical about the wipes. Guess they’ll go in the bathroom. Only thing I’m happy about in this box (and different from yours) is full-size Roux anti-aging hair serum, worth $12.99. BB5 has been my favorite box, but I was honestly disappointed this month.

My nail polish is a black/white/silver confetti. Really more of a top coat (I like it, though — I don’t have anything even remotely like it). I think I want to try it out tomorrow but I have to pick a color to put on under it.

Liz,

I just read my card it says the nail polish retails for $7

I love the shade you received! 🙂

Summer is almost over and although it’s good to use spf all year around. I hope that means NO more Purlisse for awhile. I’ve been with subscription services a few months and I have 2 full size Purlisse and a sample size. I would actually have three full size but I signed up to late for one company. I have enough to last me awhile! 🙂

I’m hoping to see something new. Eye shadow, primer, lotion, etc. I cancelled Birchbox because I receIved way too many tiny shampoo and condiTioner samples each month. Hoping not to see so much hair care in all my boxes next month.

I actually like Beauty Box 5. I think the value is terrific. I recieved $50-60 in items this month. I’m not sure about the lip gloss, looks bad on me and confetti nail polish I usually don’t do confetti. I do love the other items though. The face wipes and Purlisse is great for travel and I may like the hair care, it has good reviews!

If I remember correctly the polish states it is worth $5.99 and the hair mask like $2.95. I forget. But it is something like that.

I recieved a totally different hair treatment worth $11.99. I think I got very lucky!

I like Liz’s nail polish and lip gloss shade much better though. Plus I receIved the cucumber melon scented facial clothes, I prefer the lavender. All in all I think it’s a great box.

I got the same box as Liz, except mine is a confetti-like nail polish. I gotta say I’m pretty happy with the items, it’s worlds better than Beauty Army, which I’ve only gotten foil packet samples from for $12/month. This one at least has full size items and deluxe samples. But I am tired of the pur-lisse samples.

I recieved the confetti type nail polish. A friend received solid black so they must have a large variety of nail polish shades

The lip gloss doesn’t look good on me. It’s sticky but tastes good . I haven’t tried the rest of the items.

I recieved $50-60 in items so I’m impressed! 🙂

I was gifted a 3 month sub from them and its not impressive. I see why its the cheapest box available.

Erin

It’s an ok box, especially since I only paid $6/box for the 3 month sub deal. But compared to the last 2 and their LE box it’s rather a let down. Well, if I’m being honest, the LE box was kind of a fiasco not because of the products (Chichester I really liked and were a great value), but because they charged me multiple times and I’m still waiting to get return shipping labels to return the unwanted extras. In the meantime, I’m out $88. And it had to call after my emails were ignored for a week. So I have to say I’m not planning to renew if next month looks like this. The items look like someone rummaged through the clearance bin at the Dollar Store. Sigh.

Wow, autocorrect fail! Don’t even know what Chichester is; should say “which” and “I had to call” not “it had to.” Sheesh!

Mary Beth

Too funny! I love it when auto correct replaces an actual word with a word that no one has ever heard of. I was thinking Chichester was the brand name of one of the products you got in your LE box! Sounded fancy to me 🙂

When oh when will the Pur’lesse end! I am stocked up for the next two summers!

I suspect Purlisse sent out a ton of samples for advertising. BB5 is just on the tail end sending it out. Which I suspect has something to do with the samples being other companies’ leftovers.
