A ketogenic diet is high in fat and low in carbs. It's been linked to a number of positive health benefits, and has also been shown to aid in weight loss. Health-conscious consumers often sing the praises of low-carb eating, but following a keto diet requires a strict approach. Sticking to a strict keto plan can be difficult, particularly if you don’t have time to research recipes and prepare meals.

That’s where keto meal delivery services come in. Many companies have introduced ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook meals designed specifically for low-carb dieters, and if you’ve ever struggled with counting macros or avoiding accidental “cheat days,” meal delivery can help you stay on track.

This list features some of the best keto-friendly meal delivery services available — along with special offers and coupons to help you stay the course without breaking the bank. You'll also find additional subscriptions, like keto snack boxes and meat delivery services, that might work for keto dieters.

But first...

What Is Keto?

The ketogenic diet, or keto diet, is an eating strategy designed to put the body into ketosis, a metabolic state where fat is burned for energy and the liver turns fat into ketones. The keto diet has been known to lower insulin levels and blood sugar, and the ketones produced are believed to boost brain function. Sounds pretty great, right? So how does it work?

The keto diet incorporates high-fat foods and limits carbohydrates. It is similar in many ways to Atkins or a simple low-carb diet, but a careful approach is required in order to ensure the body enters ketosis. Carbohydrate intake needs to be monitored carefully, and overall carb intake should be limited to between 20-50 grams per day. Foods that are high in fats, like nuts, eggs, meats, fish, and oils, should be featured prominently.

Following a keto diet is believed to have a multitude of potential health benefits. These include:

  • weight loss
  • lower blood pressure
  • increased ketones
  • lower blood sugar
  • better insulin sensitivity

Keto requires dedication and, for many, a significant lifestyle change. If you'd like to try a keto diet, make sure to speak with your doctor first to confirm it's a good choice for you.

That approach has paid off for the company in a big way — when we checked, Keto Delivered had sold out of boxes for April 2021. Keep an eye on our feed for money-saving special deals, and always make sure to check in with our reviews and brand pages for the best coupons before buying.
  • Personalize your subscription to feature keto meals. Some meal delivery services specialize in keto meals, while others may have meals designed for a variety of different diets. Make sure to update your profile with your dietary preferences to ensure you're matched with meals that are keto-friendly.
  • Schedule your preferred delivery day. Most meal delivery services allow you to choose your preferred delivery day. Check your account portal to see which delivery days are available.
  • Make your subscription work for you. Keep in mind that you don’t have to receive a box every single week. If you need a break or feel like dining out, you can always skip a week by logging in to your account. If you don’t want to leave meal selection in someone else’s hands, you can also select the recipes you’d like to receive each week.
  • Keep an eye on upcoming recipes. Make sure you don’t miss you favorite meals! We recommend checking upcoming menus every week so you can pick out which meals look best.

Factors We Considered When Reviewing This List of Keto Subscriptions

We’ve researched all the top keto subscriptions, and we’ve compiled this list to showcase the very best. The keto meal subscriptions on this list are beloved by MSA reviewers as well as the larger community of readers like you! Let’s take a look at some of the things we took into consideration when putting together this list. Factors include:

  • Nutritional information: Keto subscriptions are only successful when they're designed to support the complex dietary requirements of a ketogenic diet. For this list, we sought out subscriptions that know keto well and have designed a service that works for keto dieters.
  • Reliability: A keto meal delivery service is only convenient when things go according to plan. If the box is late or missing ingredients, things can get inconvenient fast. No one wants to make alternate, last-minute dinner arrangements or run to the store to pick up a missing onion. That’s a big hassle! Of course, accidents happen, but we’ve made sure to only select meal subscriptions that take reliability seriously.
  • Taste: Keto meal delivery services can do everything else right, but if the food isn’t tasty, it’s a total deal breaker. The food MUST taste good to make our list.
  • Packaging: In order to ship fresh ingredients to your front door, a fair amount of packaging is required. However, we value keto meal delivery services that limit the amount of packaging used and opt for recyclable materials whenever possible.
  • Variety: Are there plenty of recipes to choose from each week? Are there enough keto-friendly menu options to keep things fresh and exciting? It may be trite, but variety really is the spice of life. When preparing this list, we sought out keto meal delivery services that know how to keep things interesting.
  • Price: While we wish money was no object, the truth is that price is a key factor for most people when picking out the right keto meal delivery service. Our list includes options to suit a variety of budgets.
  • Customer Reviews: We know keto meal delivery services better than anybody, but our opinion isn’t the only one that matters. We value the thoughts of the MSA community, and we’ve designed this list with their feedback in mind. Readers are encouraged to leave their own reviews on our brand pages, and their input has helped shape this list.

The site still says that shipping is 7.99, so I would like to know why it says free shipping over $45.00 when I was was just paying 7.99 a week for a 59.99 order all year.
Anyway I just cancelled after having alot of deliveries continually delayed from Home Chef, had to throw out the box several times (and often carry the heavy thing around the bldg from the wrong APT door where it was delivered). For some reason choosing days later in the week would have the worst delays and with no Sunday delivery, the chill packs would arrive warm so I would have to throw out the box (after looking for the “pending delivery” multiple times a day for up to 5 days). I will admit they were very good with refunding me, but wasting food, not having dinner to make, and constantly watching for due packages just for the tracking status to change at 9pm at night to the following day’s eta was sooooooo irritating. Eventually decided to take a break after skipping umpteen boxes.

Helllllppp! Has anyone tried more than one or two of the Keto meal plans? I am severely immunocompromised, so I truly need to avoid going out to the grocery store. I would like to stick to Keto.

Thanks in advance. Hoping someone can help. I’m pretty desperate. If you need someone to try and review various Keto meal plans, please let me know. I’d gladly produce wonderful reviews. I have super taste buds. haha. Seriously, I do. I dine out all of the time in the dives and fine dining in NOLA, so I know food.

Please, I need help finding a Keto meal plan that is the tastiest. 🙂 I’m really spoiled with good food and prime ingredients.

I follow keto…most of the time🤪 I slip about twice a month. But I currently subscribe to Keto Krate and love it. I’m considering trying the keto snack box.

Has anyone tried trifecta? How big are the meals?

I contacted Trifecta to ask about ingredient lists and I was told that comes WITH your order. When I said I wanted to know before they asked what I wanted to avoid….mmm…not too inclined to order food they won’t share ingredients. I am not keto but I eat AIP for my health.

Hi Christen, ketogenic diet emphasizes on fat rather than protein. If one consume too much protein and not enough fat, human body will breakdown protein to glucose this prevents ketosis.
