March 2021 Dapper Dog Box Review

Murray is ready to dig in!

St Patrick's Day Bandana

Every month Dapper Dog includes a festive double-sided bandana. This style is simple to tie and fits perfectly around my dog's neck. This month is festively themed featuring a four-leaf clover pattern on one side and a rainbow/pot of gold motif on the flip side.

Here is the bandana modeled on my BFF, Murray (he is my 9-year-old Corgi-Maltese); the medium size fits him to a T!

Bocce's Bakery Shamrock Cookies – Retail Value $6.99

This month's treats were an absolute hit! Murray couldn't get enough of these soft, chewy biscuits. Dapper Dog loves to send Bocce's Bakery treats and for good reason! They are made with simple ingredients (no weird fillers), and they are baked right in the U.S.

Murray was happy to see some chewy treats from Bocce's this month!

Woofables Shamrock Frosted Cookie

It took a few introductions for Murray to actually bite into this cookie. Usually, he will lick all of the icing off, then when the cookie is nice and soft, he will finish every crumb. He carried this one around with him for a while but eventually celebrated St. Patty's day late with a green beard. Woofables cookies are made from scratch, with simple ingredients like spelt flour, oats, pumpkin, and yogurt frosting. This cookie smelled good enough for me to eat, but I didn't try any this time around.

Hot mess express is about to dive into some green frosting, beard first!

Scrubby Instant Bath Rinse-Free Shampoo Mittens, 5 mittens - Retail Value $8.95

Murray is a sensitive pup, so we were stoked when we saw these shampoo mittens were fragrance-free and have a healthy PH level. They lather up nicely, and the mitt is big enough to comfortably stay on my hand, using my other hand to rub in the lather and give pets and pats when needed. The shampoo is a rinse-free formula, so after a quick lather, pat dry and you're good to go! These are perfect to bring along in the car in case your dog finds the need to dig or can't resist a muddy puddle, two vices Murray can't shake.

Steel Dog Baby Owl Dog Toy – Retail Value $9.99

This toy is a repeat for us, but since Murray's uncle Scooter stole the original, he was happy to see it again. When we last reviewed this toy, here is what we thought:

This baby owl is so cute! Murray loves furry toys, so he was attracted to this one from the get-go. This owl doesn’t have any squeakers or crinkling in it, but it does have a tennis ball in his belly, perfect for fetch, yet not the best toy for chewing or keeping the dog busy by himself.

"Wait... I know this smell..." It took him a while, but it came back to him eventually (and he is now mad at Uncle Scoot).

Petlou 10" Donkey Toy – Retail Value $6.95

This goofy-looking donkey brought Murray back into his puppy-like self. He has had a hard few months; first, he had a severe allergic reaction all over his skin, and at the end of January he slipped a disc in his back. A slipped disc is agony for animals and humans alike, but after a trial of medications and strict bed rest, he is in less pain and responding to the RX treatment much better than we thought! We still carry him up and down the steps, but he is back to being a cute, playful pup! This toy crinkles and has two squeakers, so of course, he went bonkers for it.

Atta boy!

Verdict: Dapper Dog's March box made Murray so happy! He has been enjoying his Bocce's treats, and I can't get him to part with his new donkey friend; he carries it everywhere. We were also pretty excited about the to-go shampoo mitts, which work wonders on a dingy pup. Of course, Murray looked very dapper in his St. Patty's bandana while indulging on his matching frosted cookie. This is not a subscription that typically gives you more bang for your buck, but I felt like this month's contents were once again well worth the cost.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Murray’s hair is growing back! He looks good.

My husband will read the doggie treat labels and is convinced that the dog eats better than we do.
