Fit Snack Box is a subscription box containing snacks that fit within at least two of the following parameters: GMO-free, high protein, low-sugar, gluten-free, organic, raw, vegan, and/or all-natural. (As in, any given item might be low in sugar and vegan, or organic and gluten-free but not vegan, etc.)

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

About Fit Snack Box

The Products: $32.00+ worth of full and sample-size snacks, protein powders, pantry items, and other healthy consumables selected by a nutritionist.

Good to Know: This box usually contains some ready-to-eat snacks and sometimes a few pantry items. Fit Snack Box February 2021 Review

The information card is a bit flashier these days, as a full-color folded brochure. But there's still a workout and a list of the items you'll find in the box. There is also a QR code to get to online videos, recipes, and other subscriber-exclusive content. I greatly dislike viewing websites on my phone (too small to see with my vision being what it is) so I wish an alternate way of accessing this content was available.

On to the items:

Bakery on Main Happy Granola Sprouted Blueberry Flax (1.1 oz) – Buy 3, 11 oz Bags for $19.96

I can’t find Happy Granola listed from this brand but it does kind of look like they are undergoing some rebranding and a packaging change so I’ve linked to what I *think* is the same product. As far as granola goes, this is fine. It’s somewhat low on the fruit despite blueberry being in the name, but there’s nothing objectionable about the taste or texture and it may be worth a try if you are looking for gluten-free granola. However, this brand is appearing in every single snack box multiple months in a row and I think their marketing push is having the opposite effect of what they intend, because I have eaten so much of this lately, I kind of don’t want to receive it ever again and I don’t want to buy it either.

Rx AM Oats Maple (2.18 oz) – Buy 12 for $34.99

We tend to get this product fairly often from Fit Snack Box although in different flavors. If we are going to get a product from this brand, I want it to be the oatmeal, because of everything they make, this is by far the best product. This brand has a tendency to insist on egg whites being in everything and in my opinion, it gives the bars and nut butters a weird texture. But egg whites work great in the oatmeal. This is a somewhat high-calorie oatmeal with protein so it might actually work if you are in a hurry and need to eat a quick breakfast (assuming you have access to hot water – there are also overnight oats instructions on the package as well).

Harvest Snaps Lightly Salted (2 oz) – Buy 24, 1 oz Bags for $29.99

I like these but my husband is not as fond of them. They are pretty starchy and they do tend to stick in your teeth, like kind of a lot. (That last part is what bothers my husband.) I would be interested in seeing one of this company’s other products or flavors in this box in a future month instead of receiving the plain again; I know they make a few more flavors than this just this one.

Undercover Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Crispy Quinoa (0.25 oz x 2) – Buy 8, 2 oz Bags for $31.92

This is a brand I discovered through this box and I like it. You might expect quinoa snacks to be hard but these really aren’t. The quinoa adds some volume without a lot of density so you actually feel like you’re eating more than you are (in terms of calories) which is always a good thing when it comes to chocolate.

Bakery on Main Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Decadent Granola (1.1 oz) – Buy 3, 11 oz Bags for $21.08

Ah, more granola from this brand. This is the new packaging for this product (I’m not sure that it’s functionally different from what they used to call “Bunches of Crunches,” which made the rounds in past years) but it does look like more of a product targeted for adults instead of for kids with the packaging upgrade. This one has a decent level of chocolate and, again, if you are in the market for gluten-free chocolate granola, this may be a good one to try.

Munchy Crunchy Protein Snack Rockin' Ranch (1.3 oz) – Buy 10 Packets for $24

This is a new item/brand for me. It definitely has a beany taste and I’m not sure how well that meshes with the ranch flavor (which appears to be non-dairy, for what it’s worth), because ranch is not really a flavor I associate with edamame, although I do appreciate that they’re trying to add some flavor here to make the snack more interesting than just plain beans. The texture is great although the flavoring does tend to coat your hands.

Real Beef Stick Jalapeno Cranberry (1 oz) – Buy 12 for $14.99

This brand shows up about every other month in Fit Snack Box. Unfortunately, they only make beef sticks and I don’t eat meat and my husband doesn’t eat meat sticks, so this will go into the pile to send off to a relative when I’ve accumulated enough to make postage worth it. This is made from kosher beef but I can’t tell from the brand's website if it’s grass-fed or not (I know some people care about this, and I suspect it’s not grass-fed, or they’d advertise that heavily).

Undercover Milk Chocolate Crispy Quinoa (0.25 oz x 2) – Buy 8, 2 oz Bags for $31.92

We also got this snack in milk chocolate. I have similar things to say about this as with the dark chocolate version. Although I personally prefer the flavor of milk chocolate, I thought both were good.

Bakery on Main Grain Free Chocolate Energy Food (1.1 oz) – Buy 3, 8 oz Bags for $21.42

This is grain-free so not traditional granola, so I’m OK with this being included in the box despite being tired of granola in general. Of the three products included from this brand, this one was by far my favorite this month, I think I just enjoy the combination of chocolate and nuts. Plus, you can’t include very much filler when it’s grain-free!

Dream Fuel Chocolate Protein Bar (1.87 oz) – Buy 12 for $29.99

This has collagen from grass-fed beef in it so I was not able to eat it. I am kind of sad about that because it’s a new brand for me, and because this smelled really, really good. My husband was willing to try this, though, and he confirms I would’ve liked it if I’d been able to eat it. He said it was not greasy as some collagen bars can be, but that he could definitely tell there was nut butter there from the texture (the first two ingredients are almond butter and cashew butter). Overall, I’d say he was a fan.

Verdict: The February Fit Snack Box had 10 items (counting the doubles as 1 item since they are quite small) for an average value of $2.89 per item. I’d say this was a pretty typical month for Fit Snack Box. I did actually discover a few new items (the quinoa cluster flavors were new, as was the bean snack, and my husband was a fan of the protein bar). I’m a little bit over getting Bakery On Main granola but I’m guessing that, unlike me, most people don’t receive three separate snack subscription boxes each month! And the grain-free version was pretty good as well as being new to me.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Boxes ship out around the 20th of the month so your first box will probably March's and will arrive in early April.

Value Breakdown: At $28.90 for this box, you are paying about $2.89 per item.

Gee. Should it be like $9.99, maybe $15? You’re almost paying full value.

There’s also a bunch of online content, meal plans and recipes and free workouts and meditations and stuff like that, not really possible to show that here. Also the information card has coupons for most/all of the brands in the box.

Anyway, food boxes never had the massive values that beauty boxes have, because there are big markups in beauty item retail prices that aren’t present in other categories.
