Animal Trackers Club Review - March 2021

Before we get started on the contents of this shipment, I wanted to highlight a few items that we received in our Introductory Box that we also used for this month:

Please note the following items did NOT come in this box:

Animal Trackers Lunchbox

We received this cute tin lunchbox featuring Bode Bear and the Animal Trackers logo which is perfect for storing all of our animal gear as we collect it each month. It will also double as a place to play with our animal magnets!

Animal Tracks Card Ring

This is our Animal Tracks card ring. Each month we will receive an animal photo and track card that we can add to this ring as we discover new animals.

Animal Coloring Card

This animal coloring card will be used to track which animals we've already explored and which are still to come!

Now let's see what we received this month!

He can't wait to open these each month!

He loves being able to mark whichever animal he received on his coloring card. I can't believe we just have one animal left! He actually remembered and asked me when we received our package "is it the ostrich or the buffalo?"

This cape buffalo figurine is so realistic and very cool, but I have to say I was surprised to see one that is so anatomically correct! You can see in the second photo some of his anatomy hanging down, but upon further inspection, it seems there is a bit more underneath (nothing graphic, but if you aren't quite ready to explain it to your child, it might alarm you!). With two little boys, and one who obsessively reads and watches shows about animals, it wasn't a huge concern for us, but I thought it was worth noting!

Each month we receive a new card to add to our Animal Tracks ring. There is a color photograph of the animal on one side and their footprint on the back. It is printed on thicker cardstock and has a hole at the top corner so we can add it to our collection.

His animal ring is getting pretty full!

Each month they send a fact sheet with information about the featured animal that is the perfect size to keep stored inside of our lunchbox. One side has full-color images, while the back has some fun facts about them. They include little pictures in the story so that the kids can help read, too.

This time I had him reading some of the information to me!

My son loves collecting these anima magnets! They stick so nicely to his lunchbox.

Every month he breaks out all his magnets for a new play session as a new animal is added!

These foam masks are fun and a playful way for kids to act like they are that month's animal.

He has no problem getting into character!

Magic Nuudles - Buy a bag of 250 for $12.00

Our main activity this month involved making our own cape buffaloes out of Magic Nuudles. These are such a fun crazy product. They look like packing noodles but when you get them just a bit wet they stick to one another and other surfaces but be careful, they do dissolve with too much water!

My son, my daughter, and I all worked together on this one. First, they sorted out 21 brown Nuudles and then my daughter cut them in half, I dipped them into some water, and my son placed them. Although, we all ended up helping by the end.

He turned out pretty cool! Although it really reminds me of giant cocoa puffs!

Next, with the leftover pieces, they made their own 3D buffaloes.

They opted to go the buffalo mask route and they were both pleased with their results! I was just happy we had enough for both of them to do one!

The educational worksheets involved differentiating between the letters B and D and their sounds. I thought these were both great practice sheets that were engaging and perfect for my son's educational level!

He did a great job identifying the sounds, although he definitely got a little mixed up with his lowercase b's and d's, so it was a good thing he had the extra practice!

Verdict: I am going to be so sad when we receive our last Animal Trackers Club box next month! I can't believe we have almost gone through the entire series! I know my son will definitely be disappointed as he really looks forward to this box each month. He loves the magnets and the collectible figurines, they are such great quality and have held up to tons of playtime. I have enjoyed seeing his growth as he works through the educational activities they send each month. Some were way above his level when we started, but now he is in that perfect spot (so I would say this is great for an older 4-year-old and up) and I love how engaged he is with the learning. The art activities are always different and involve unique materials, and overall, we just really love this subscription!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, although you would start with the introductory box!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
