Why does it seem like Ipsy caters to individuals with normal or dry skin? All these glow products with my oily skin would be horrifying. I don’t see really any products meant for skin that would work with a heavy oil base 😞

After gazing at my unbelievably large collection of skincare and makeup waiting to be used and, after recently sending huge boxes of products to family…and…recently making similarly-sized donations…I finally paused GB and GBP. I should have cancelled BC, too; but I’m letting March ship for the Glow Recipe which I like. I’m not kidding; I have enough beauty stuff for three people for at least three years. I’m about to get out of the sub purchases for a good long while.

Brightness

Thanks for the spoilers, I am skipping the GlamBag Plus but getting the GlamBag this month.

Reply ButtonReply

Annette

If i skip for March GBP, am I still qualified for the Xbag in May??

Reply ButtonReply

MzBev

I paused March GBP but am keeping the regular bag. When I paused I had a screen pop up saying now X will be an upgrade for the regular bag…or to unpause by May and it will be upgrade for GBP. Their X is exactly how Boxy Luxe is, you have to have a current membership to get it. It doesn’t matter which one you keep active – reg GB or GBP,

Reply ButtonReply

Deb

Apparently so. I just tried to skip a month and a warning popped up on the screen that my X would automatically be canceled if I skip a month- so I feel like Ipsy is holding me hostage. My husband is out of work on disability temporarily, and I need to cut back. I don’t think it’s fair.

Reply ButtonReply

Nairoby

Same here. I don’t like, need, or want anything in the March box. But Ipsy is holding me at ransom. If I want the X, which of course I do, I have to pay for March. I too had the warning pop up. I am going to have to keep March against my will. lol kinda sucks. What I plan on doing tho, to not have it be completely awful, is to pick things out of my comfort zone that I prob would never choose. 🤷‍♀️

Nicole

I had the same thing happen. It’s absolutely ridiculous that they would make us take a box with products we don’t want, or miss out on a future box we might want. Extremely disappointing and a poor business practice. I’m really going to have to think about whether this is going to fly with me. I don’t normally support companies that pull stuff like this. I might just go elsewhere, or shop sales for products I already know I like.

Betty Schimmel

I was notified in the beginning of February that my glam bag plus had been shipped, but to date I have not received it.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

I just received mine yesterday. It was in postal purgatory.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

Mmm…nope. Ipsy Plus is not calling my name this month. In fact, it’s saying “Run Nicole, Run!”😂 The only thing here I want is the IT brush and I honestly don’t even need it. I have 7-8 foundation brushes and two of them are IT Cosmetics. Other than that none of the other spoilers appeal to me and I find when that happens it’s time to skip a month. Good luck to everyone these products do appeal to, may the Ipsy God’s bless you with their picks for your bag. See y’all in April!❤

Reply ButtonReply

Samantha

You are too funny Nicole! It’s telling me to run too! 😂 February was my first month and I have to be honest, I was EXTREMELY underwhelmed 😔 Thinking about trying Boxycharm 🤔

Reply ButtonReply

Gisela

Nicole, you are hysterical 🤣, I couldn’t agree with you more except I will give it for my daughter as an Easter gift! I’m sure she will love it! 😊

Reply ButtonReply

Susan

The cleanser, brush and acne product look amazing.

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel M.

On the Kosas, should I change my skin tone on my profile? I’m a light olive. I heard people get concealer and foundations that are too dark. I have never used foundation in my life. I’m 44. My skin is dry so I don’t use powder.

Reply ButtonReply

Makeup86

Go to Kosas’s website and see if you can figure out which shade might work. I am lucky that if I pick light neutral in anything it’s usually close enough. I’m the same age as you and this product is so nice on dry skin, winter in the Midwest is harsh on skin and being over 40 doesn’t help. It smells like the natural oils it contains, which are sort of almost, I hate to say it, cooking oil scented, but once it’s on I don’t notice and it doesn’t bother me. Some love this and some hate it but I hope I get to choose it because I’ve had it before and loved it but it’s pricey. I do use a tiny bit of setting powder to keep it from creasing under my eyes, but just a tiny bit.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

I absolutely love that Haus lipstick. It’s amazing what a great red lipstick can do for your mood

Reply ButtonReply

Makeup86

Red is a color you can’t choose for someone else. It is love or hate. I won’t wear them as I think they distract too much from the bolder eye looks I prefer.

Reply ButtonReply

Dianne

I’m skipping March. Hope April is better if not am skipping until X in May.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

Yep, till you go to actually do it and realize that Ipsy won’t let you skip a month and still keep X. They will immediately cancel your X for May if you skip March or April. I’m sure it’s in the fine print that none of us read, but I am furious. People are struggling, some still not working and even if that wasn’t the case you’re really going force me to take March even though there isn’t one spoiler that interests me, just so I can keep X for May, which I also don’t know will interest me because I haven’t seen any spoilers? It’s just such a load of BS. And yes, I know I could just cancel and I might just do that and look for in store sales instead. It was just nice getting something in the mail every month, but if I can’t pick and choose whether I want to skip without being punished it’s not fun and I’d rather get excited by something I pick out myself and really want or need.

Reply ButtonReply

Deanne

Yet another month skipping, I’m getting so bored! Oh well saving money I guess but I usually love getting my box!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

Same here with skipping and looking forward to getting my box each month. On months I feel I need to skip, I just take the money (sometimes a little extra😂) and either pick another box for the month or I treat myself to something I have really been wanting. Last time it was a set of Sigma brushes, which were a bit more expensive than Plus but I still got a package I was very excited to receive.😊

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

I feel like that brush has been up there for months. I also do not the like the plus bags at ALL. They seem cheap. Does anyone else feel this way? What kind of bag would you want if you got to.pick? Thanks for info:)

Reply ButtonReply

Makeup86

I use them as gift bags. I didn’t need any more makeup bags, and I’m glad they don’t take up a ton of space. I’m glad to have the money spent on products instead of bags.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

They are cheap. I’ve been using them for donations, along with the regular bags I do not like. I would like the option of a sixth product instead of a bag…for both subs.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

Thank you! I sure wish Ipsy would listen!

Angel

Having the option of a substituting an additional item instead of the bag is a great idea. Especially for months like this, when the bag is absolutely hideous.

Page

I’ll be interested to see if they just provide one color option on the DOC concealer like they did with the foundation last month. The Korres cleanser I’m interested in. I use their bath gels and it’s a nice brand. As far as that Anastasia highlighter/glow. I bought it last year at TJ Maxx for $3. I used it once then tossed it in a drawer. Not practical unless for a special occasion. Very similar to the FX illuminating drops which I also got in a box and never used.
The setting spray looks interesting.

Still enjoying Ipsy plus though.

Sarah C.

Speak for yourself. I love those highlighters and glows. You might be using it wrong.

Reply ButtonReply

Makeup86

How rude. Some people have textured skin and don’t like any form of highlighter or find them to be off-trend and too 2010 Instagram to like anymore. You might be using it still when even the most popular highlighter brand, Becca, is going out of business this year!

Sandy

The IT brush pictured here is actually a Heavenly Skin Skin Hugging Foundation Brush #707. I know that because I just got it in my Feb 2021 Ipsy Plus. The skin complexion brush #704 pictured above looks a bit different on the IT’s website.

Reply ButtonReply

Also Beth

It’s absurd how badly I want that Haus lipstick. I AM IN LOVE.

Reply ButtonReply

Andrea

I am new to IPSY and am confused about timelines and how to find out what is going on. I subscribed to the Plus bag at the beginning of February, got charged promptly, but never got an option to customize the bag. Then the products “in my bag” showed up in my profile … and nothing since. I never got a note that the February bag was shipped (supposedly the window was 2/6-17, clearly past now) and my timeline has jumped to “Flash Sales”. I don’t see any way to find out if the bag was actually sent, and I also have not seen a way to customize my March bag.
I don’t even see a way to contact CS, only generic Q&A. Could anyone walk me through the process or point out what I’m missing? TIA

I’m not sure where to find the email on Ipsy’s site, but I’ve had to contact them in the past. I know others would disagree, but I have always had good experience and response time from their CS.

Tiffany

I’m have the same situation. February will come soon probably, and you’ll get to choose on March 2 for your March bag. Also, Add Ons will be on March 2. Today’s “add ons” were the Flash Sale.

Reply ButtonReply

Tonka

Hi, Andrea. You don’t get to choose anything for your first bag. You will get a choice for March.

Reply ButtonReply

Andrea

Thanks so much for the info, Tonka and Tiffany – much appreciated!

Rookala

I used to love this bag, but was disappointed with the last couple, so I canceled. Items I’d request to receive “rarely”, I always seemed to get. The last two months spoilers convinced me I made the right decision. Subbed to Allure with that money & am so happy with their boxes, so it was a good switch for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

The Korres cleanser is lovely. That one item value pays for the entire bag.

Reply ButtonReply

Makeup86

It’s so interesting how we all feel differently about things. I had that cleanser in a deluxe sample and didn’t even want to finish the sample. It wasn’t drying, which is good in winter in the Midwest, but I didn’t feel it cleansed well. I feel the same about Philosophy’s Purity cleanser.

Reply ButtonReply

Morgan

I know it seems a little silly since I could easily buy it at Target, but I’d be SUPER excited to get the mighty patches! I tried them one day and they are AMAZING!!! I had a spot on my face, and I threw one of these on. A few hours later, you could hardly tell there had been anything there! 10/10 would recommend 😀
I’m actually oddly excited about the setting spray too. I’m usually more attracted to colorful and sparkly makeup (eyeshadow palettes and lip gloss and whatnot), but this time my eye is drawn to the skincare and complexion products! Can’t wait to see what I get!

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

They do work great and fast!

Reply ButtonReply

LP

I skipped because of previous spoilers, but the Kosas spoiler made me change my mind!

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel M.

I thought about trying the kosas oil foundation. I have dry skin with a slightly oily t zone. I hate powder. Would you suggest this if I just wanted light coverage? Also I have olive undertone but I’m not very tan. What skin tone on profile would match me best? I heard a lot of people get foundation and concealer that is too dark.

Reply ButtonReply

Talia

I was so excited a few months back to get this Kosas oil based foundation in my Boxycharm. My skin is fairly dry, I use moisturizing EVERYTHING from start to finish in my routine and I thought this was a godsend. I absolutely love face oils, my go to product when I get flaky. This didn’t act like oil at all, rather the pigment just separated and sat on top or my face all patchy and looked awful. Such a let down. I tried multiple times and got the same results. With and without primer, with and without moisturizer. It just didn’t work. Perhaps I got bad product but I’d recommend this only to someone who has zero dry at all. Which to me defeats the purpose of using oil based. I don’t know why an oily person would use something oil based?? I was so disappointed.

Reply ButtonReply

Kristin

Am I the only one who doesn’t want to ‘glow’? I am so over these products I get at least one every month from one of my subs and since I am work from home due to COBVID I’m not able to get rid of them at work.

Reply ButtonReply

Donna

I’m with you on this – “glow” products (that also means you, highlighters) is not something I want.

Reply ButtonReply

Val

Same

Jennifer

Korres Cleanser or It face brush for me. I already have the Kosas from Boxy and it’s nice for light makeup days. If you dont need much coverage and have drier skin, you will probably love it. My skin likes it, it just doesnt cover my redness as much as I would like. I like everything I’ve tried by Korres so I would love to try the cleanser. I have enough extra mascaras and highlighters that I could probably supply my whole neighborhood with them. Even though I wasnt mad about getting the Pat McGrath mascara in X well because its mother and I love everything about her brand.
