FaceTory Lux Plus Box is a quarterly box from K-Beauty sheet mask subscription, FaceTory! The Lux Plus box contains 10-12 items that will include sheet masks along with skincare such as serums, toners, eye creams, as well as hair care, and more! It runs $49.95/box with free shipping and has a new curation by the FaceTory team every season. I just love their super cute packaging and info booklet design too!

Reviewed by popular demand!

They also offer the 7 Lux Box ($19.90 per month + free U.S. shipping) which includes seven curated sheet masks with slightly higher-functioning ingredients, like hydrogels and other more sophisticated ingredients.

FaceTory Lux Plus Box Winter 2020 Review

FaceTory Lux Plus Box includes a little booklet full of info about each item included in the box. This is an excellent guide for learning more about the ingredients inside each formula and the correct way to use them.

LalaChuu Clay Ampoule Cleanser, 100 mL - Retail Value $23.00

Most of you know I tend to avoid clay unless I'm using it on specific areas of my skin that are oilier. When you are dry like me, it can really feel like it strips your skin of the little bit of moisture you have! This cleanser has clay (two kinds!), but it is floating in the form of little orbs inside a clear gel. When you massage it, they break open, giving you the purifying benefits of clay but in a gel format. I really liked this cleanser a lot! Aside from the obvious fun factor of the formula, it was super refreshing on my skin and left me feeling clean, but not tight or dry. I had trouble tracking down a cohesive ingredient list, but I did find more info (and an excessive amount of infographics) on the product here.

SanDaWha Camellia Multi-Action Intensive Essence, 30 mL - Retail Value $43.00

So this essence contains maybe the most active ingredients that I have seen in quite a while! Literally, if it's one of my favorite skincare ingredientd, its in here. Where do I even start? It would take us all day! Here are the Cliff's Notes: shea, licorice root, squalane, green tea, willow bark, aloe, hyaluronic acid, ginseng, cica, copper peptides... the list goes on. I also like that the texture is a quick-absorbing milky gel. This is a great formula to layer on your face between your cleanser and moisturizer and I found that it absorbs so well I didn't have pilling issues. It also smells quite marvelous!

Adaline Keep Cool and Ocean Oil, 25 mL - Retail Value $29.00

How cute is this oil? I love it. To be fair, I love most facial oils, but the blue color of this little treasure is especially charming. Inside the bottle is a blend of botanical oils (jojoba, sunflower, olive, sweet almond, more...), botanical extracts (eggplant, aloe, gourd, turmeric, holy basil), and essential oils for fragrance. If you are especially averse to using essential oils on your face, you can totally still use this on dry elbows and cuticles and the scent is really light and pleasant. I added a few drops to my palms, rubbed them together, then gently patted this oil onto my face and I loved the instant hydration and radiance it added.

EssenHerb Bulgarian Rose Cream, 50 mL - Retail Value $35.00

I didn't love this cream. Usually, I am quite taken with products that contain rose but this one had a sharp scent that felt a little weird to me. It also has some ingredients my skin just isn't super fond of (I am especially averse to myristyl alcohol). The texture itself was fine but my skin felt just kind of icky after this one. It does contain some goodies like niacinamide, panthenol, and hyaluronic acid (the last ingredient on the list though?) but this one just wasn't for me.

Rated Green Avocado Nourishing Scalp Pack, 200 mL - Retail Value $20.00

I don't know what's going on with me lately, but for the last month, I have had such an itchy scalp at night. Like so itchy that I have to get up and shower, even if I am already clean. That skin is just reddish, dry, and angry! I decided to change up my shampoo and conditioner, but when this arrived I knew it might be a good quick-fix. And I was totally right. I am not one to generally like scalp products (which might be exactly why mine is so mad) but I found this creamy banana-scented mask to really help! I have since invested in a big bar of LUSH Avocado Co-Wash (I am a fan) but I still like using this stuff about once a month. I will totally be buying more when I run out.

FaceTory Dream Garden Chamomile Waffle Mask – Retail Value $4.00

This mask was also in the December FaceTory 7 Luxe delivery! Here are my thoughts:

Sometimes I feel kind of ‘blah’ about own-brand products, but FaceTory is the exception to this! This brand truly makes some great skincare and sheet masks! This one was so relaxing and lovely. The shining star here is calming chamomile, something I certainly needed after a really hectic month. It is 80% chamomile water and this flower helps your skin by bringing anti-inflammatory properties as well as lots of antioxidants. This clear serum was watery but also kind of jelly-like, and it felt wonderful.

Elishacoy Skin Time Tea Mask Kombucha Tea – Retail Value $2.00

This mask was also in the December FaceTory 7 Luxe delivery! Here are my thoughts:

I absolutely love fermented extracts in skincare. For some reason my face really responds so well to them! It gives me a more even complexion, smoother texture, and also reduces redness. So, truly great stuff! This mask has an essence containing fermented black tea and snow mushroom extract. Fermented tea AND mushrooms? My skin would be smiling if it had a mouth. Which… I guess it does. I am smiling. The scent here was mostly clean and a little bit earthy and herbal, and all-around delightful.

Lapothicell Minus Soothing & Pore Facial Mask - Retail Value $5.00

This mask was also in the December FaceTory 7 Luxe delivery! Here are my thoughts:

I guess I assumed this would be a purifying charcoal mask, but it was so much better! It is that material that feels like a second skin (biocellulose) and contains coconut water and seaweed extracts! It is such a thin and delicate mask that it arrived between two mesh layers which made it a little difficult to apply, but still totally worth it. Sometimes masks made of this material get really dry really fast, but this one was dripping with a herbal scented serum and stayed very juicy.

Clapiel Hibiscus Relaxing Mask Pack - Retail Value $3.00

This mask was also in the December FaceTory 7 Luxe delivery! Here are my thoughts:

This was quite a treat for my dry winter skin. The pairing of hibiscus and panthenol seemed to suit my face quite well! Even though this mask doesn’t really boast anti-inflammatory properties, I noticed a redness reduction, which is always appreciated! It also provided a big hydration boost right away that lasted for hours. The serum was clear and on the thicker side, with a slightly sweet but fresh scent.

Holika Holika Less on Skin Cica Dressing Mask – Retail Value $3.00

I loved this mask SO MUCH. It felt so great on my face and the ingredients featured cica (an all-time fave), magnesium, and panthenol. For winter-weary skin, this was a dream.

Verdict: My FaceTory Lux Plus Box box was a hit this month. In fact, I only disliked one item: the rose cream. Everything else was super fun and wonderfully beneficial to my poor face. I always enjoy this quarterly delivery from Facetory because it is such a great collection of Korean skincare that can be harder to find stateside.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

This review says it was posted February 15, but it only now showed up when searched on. I would know, I have been religiously looking for it for months. This also happened with the See New review for December. Very strange.
