January 2021 Dapper Dog Box Review

This month I only received one info card, which offers general information about the subscription, social media info, and contact information.

Murray is ready to dig in!

New Years Bandana

Every month Dapper Dog includes a festive double-sided bandana. This style is simple to tie and fits perfectly around my dog's neck. This month is festively themed featuring a New Years' theme on one side and a champagne motif on the flip side.

Here is the bandana modeled on my BFF, Murray (he is my 9-year-old Corgi-Maltese); the medium size fits him to a T!

Poor guy had to get a close shave this month due to some skin issues caused by allergies. Luckily, all his problems are resolved and he is back to being comfortable in his own skin.

Exclusively Dog Peanut Butter and Carob Sandwich Cremes, 8 oz - Retail Value $5.99

Exclusively Dog Vanilla Sandwich Cremes, 8 oz - Retail Value $5.99

Exclusively Dog is a Dapper Dog favorite. We have tried a lot of their treats in the past, but this month's cookies are much different than their usual meaty, chewy choices. Sandwich Cremes are definitely more of a dessert, and he had no problem crunching the vanilla cookie down to the very last crumb. The two recipes have pretty simple, vegetarian ingredients, and all Exclusively Dog treats are made in the USA.

Murray would not go near the peanut butter and carob flavored cookie... He couldn't even bring himself to look at it!

Petlou Colossal Gnome Toy - Retail Value $9.90

Murray's eyes got wide when he saw this beauty! He has now adopted this new friend, which hasn't left his sight in the last 24 hours, flossing with his beard and pulling at his arms and legs throughout the day. He loves the squeaker buried inside his chub, and he snuggles up to his soft, fleece shirt during naps.

This toy is the perfect example of Murray's dream toy! He is totally obsessed.

Petlou USA Bone - Retail Value $9.69 (On sale for $8.99)

DD often sends bone-shaped toys, which don't really excite either of us. It measures 10 inches long and has a loud squeaker in the middle. Murray played fetch for a few minutes but ultimately had to go back to his gnome buddy when he lost interest.

The Simple Food Project Chicken & Turkey Food Trial, 1 oz - Retail Value $2.48

Murray was all over this sample of raw food. I couldn't believe how fast he demolished this one-ounce sample; it was very crunchy and the smell was potent, to put it mildly. Simple Food Project produces raw diet foods that are made up completely of whole foods; they never use any fillers or synthetic ingredients.

This is the look of a happy, goofy guy! He loved crunching through this food sample.

Verdict: Dapper Dog's January box was an all-around crowd-pleaser. Murray is warming up to the peanut butter carob cookies, and he couldn't look any cuter in his Dapper bandana. I really liked getting a food sample in this month's box; I think it added a nice buffer to the value this month. Murray made a new best friend in his gnome toy, which hasn't left his side since unboxing, and he is thrilled about having endless cream-filled cookies to devour. This is not a subscription that gives you more bang for your buck typically, but I felt like this month's contents were well worth the cost.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Poor Murray! He looks so different without his furry coat. He’s still a cutie.

Ah, I know! Poor guy was going through some pretty random allergy issues, but now that we have his food and some meds sorted out, his skin is clear & no more itching 🙂

I love the gnome too!

MURRAY! Your poor coat 😭
You still look so handsome, but I can’t wait till it grows back. If Murray had a blog I would read it Every. Single. Day.
Those pics at the end with the food are to die for!

LOL Thank you for the Murray support :’) Poor guy has been going through a lot recently! First, he had an allergy flare-up, so we had to get him a close shave, and at the end of January, Murray decided to disregard his steps and jumped off the bed causing a herniated disc in his back. 🙁 He is taking a pause from reviewing boxes, but hopefully will be good as new after treatments.

Murray is so cute!! I’m glad he is feeling better from his skin issues. My eyes also lit up when I saw that gnome in the pictures. Adorable!

I am really tempted to try out this box, in the super chewer version, but I’m not sure the value is there. It seems like BarkBox (especially since I got the third toy for free) has better value. But I might give it a try, because I enjoy spoiling my baby.
