PinkSeoul Plus Box November/December 2020 Review

Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type, so be sure to figure out your skin type. This month, we also received this extra handy dandy info sheet breaking down the Korean skincare routine basics.

Here is the info sheet detailing the products included in this box. The info sheet this month was on cardstock rather than regular paper, and I appreciated the upgrade.

Mediflower Clear Whip Cleansing Foam in Calamine - Retail Value $9.00

This cleanser is made with calamine and polyhydroxy acid (PHA, which is a more gentle chemical exfoliant than AHA or BHA’s), and it also has a clay base with kaolin. I think because of the clay this cleanser was a bit too drying for me. This cleanser only left me a tiny bit tight, but that’s more tightness than I want when I try to focus on hydrating ingredients for my dry, sensitive skin. Your mileage may vary – if you have sensitive skin that’s more oily this would probably work really well for you.

Tony Moly Wonder Ceramide Mochi Toner, 200 ml - Retail Value $12.00

I am STOKED that this toner was included. I have gone through a bottle before thanks to the Tony Moly Monthly Bundle that I reviewed for a while, and I love this stuff. If you’ve seen the hype of the Laneige Cream Skin toner, think of this as a more affordable alternative that gives your skin a dose of ceramides and moisture. A little bit of this goes a long way, and I am happy to have this back in my routine.

APieu Madecassoside Ampoule, 30 ml - Retail Value $31.00

This arriving in my box was serendipity considering I was genuinely considering purchasing it a few weeks ago. I LOVE the APieu Madecassoside line because of how soothing and moisturizing this line is. At this point, I’ve tried/owned the gel moisturizer (sticky but still lovely on my skin), the toner (fabulous), the sheet masks, and even the lip balm. This ampoule needed to be added to my collection. If you’re unaware, Madecassoside comes from Centella Asiatica, which is a revered ingredient for those with sensitive skin for its calming and soothing abilities. Since I have sensitive skin I like to pack on the soothing products even if my skin isn’t irritated at the moment, so this ampoule (think of it as a thin serum) layered well in my routine to make sure my skin was moisturized and ready to take on the day. My favorite part of this ampoule is the ingredients list – it only contains two products: Madecassoside and Centella Asiatica Extract.

Tony Moly Ceramide Mochi Cream, 100 ml - Retail Value $12.00

I didn’t even know there were other products in the Ceramide Mochi line other than the toner, so I’m over the moon we also received this moisturizer. Along with ceramide NP, this moisturizer also has Centella, aloe, and hyaluronic acid. It’s a mid-weight cream moisturizer that isn’t too heavy, and the price is right, too.

Aronyx Sleeping Mask in D-Panthenol Cica, 100 ml- Retail Value $18.00

This sleeping mask has panthenol, Centella, propolis, and honey to provide your skin with a deep boost of moisture while you sleep. It has a gel texture that reminds me of aftersun products, and I like layering it under a facial oil to lock in all of the ingredients before my face hits the pillow.

Ample:N VC Shot 2-Step Oxygen Peel - Retail Value $4.00

I actually haven’t had good results from trying these peels from Ample:N, so now I just pass them along to friends. Something about the formula leaves my skin uncomfortable, so this isn’t for me.

Real Barrier Aqua Soothing Ampoule Mask - Retail Value $4.00

I’ve used this mask before, and I really like the aqua soothing line from Real Barrier. While all sheet masks are hydrating, this one was especially so. It fit my face like a glove and was just a joy to wear, and my skin was noticeably happier and moisturized after I was done.

Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence Rose Mask - Retail Value $4.00

This is another sheet mask repeat for me, and another one I really love. The mask is soaked in the Secret Key Essence, which is advertised as a dupe for the pricier SK-II Essence. It has Galactomyces as a key ingredient, which moisturizes skin and has anti-inflammatory properties. My skin soaks it up, and I like using it when I have acne that I want to lessen the redness of.

Pink Seoul Scrunchies, 2 ct – Retail Value $8.00 ($4.00 each)

This box usually comes with an accessory or bonus item, and this month it was these scrunchies. They don’t snag my hair, and honestly, they have me feeling cute when I have my hair in a half-up/half-down style and the bow ribbons positioned just right.

The Verdict: I knew this box would be a winner as soon as I saw the products from Tony Moly and A’Pieu. Even though the cleanser wasn’t a perfect fit and I don’t like the Ample:N peel, the rest of the products make me so happy that I still consider this box a big win. Value-wise, this box has a total value of $102, which is on the higher end of what I usually see in this box.

I just opened my Tony Moly toner last week! I love it! I did not know about other products either. Would love to try that mochi cream. Lately the Tony Moly brand is one I keep buying.
Thanks for reviewing this box again.
