Yogi Surprise “Ahimsa” November 2020 Review

Here is the info book for this month’s box. This month’s theme is “Ahimsa," which translates to "peace, love, and respect for all"

As a bonus, attached to the info booklet was a sample of Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum.

This box usually includes an asana (or yoga sequence) in the materials that focuses on the theme, and this month brought back the individual card of yoga poses rather than including it on the back of the info sheet.

May You Find Joy Intention Cards & Natural Card Stand (buy the card deck for $13.76 and a similar wood stand for $7.99)

These cards are like little meditation reminders – placing a card from the deck on the card stand somewhere you will see throughout the day can help you to remember to pause, take a breath, and reconnect with the mantra. The set comes with 42 cards, so you have a variety of mantras to use in your practice before you start repeating them.

Yogi Exclusive Ahimsa Tee

I’m not saying I’ve gained weight during this pandemic, but I am saying I knew this wouldn’t fit without even trying it on. Luckily I have a friend who also enjoys yoga and was willing to give it a try. She liked how soft it was and how it draped while exercising, however, the cut in the front is a bit short so if you don’t wear high-waisted workout pants your midriff will be exposed. This is a box-exclusive item, and I really like the design on the front – it's unique and not something I have seen before.

Asutra Mist Your Mood Aromatherapy Mist in Lavender Chamomile, 1 oz - Estimated Value $3.75  (Buy the 4 oz version for $14.99)

I am a big fan of spraying aromatherapy mists before bed, and this lavender and chamomile blend reminded me of a spa I visited during pre-Covid times. So, naturally, it definitely helped me feel relaxed and calm. My biggest complaint is that I wish this sample was bigger, luckily, the full-size version is reasonably priced if I want to restock.

Yogi Exclusive Selenite Wand

Selenite is also known as “liquid light,” and it can be used to serve a multitude of purposes with energy cleansing, meditation, healing, and unblocking stagnant energy. Selenite can also be used to help align your chakras, and if crystal healing isn’t your thing I think this would make a nice addition to candle decor so the flickering candlelight can reflect in the crystal.

Moroccan Magic Awake & Sleep Sheet Mask Set,  2 ct – Buy a set of two sleep and two awake masks for $17

I am a big sheet mask fan, so I was happy to see these masks. The “awake” mask features cold-pressed argan oil, hyaluronic acid, rooibos extract, and rose extract while the “sleep” mask features chamomile and lavender extract along with argan oil. I found both of them to be very moisturizing, and I enjoyed the added boost of aromatherapy with my skincare.

Sensible Foods Cherry Berry Dried Snack, 0.37 oz – Buy a box of 24 for $38.16

I am stoked about healthy snacks being included in this box. This bag has just four ingredients: apples, cherries, blueberries, and strawberries. No added sugar, no preservatives – nothing. I really like dried fruit, it is more portable for me, and the crunch is satisfying while still having the tasty fruit flavor and nutrients. These were taken to my office as a healthy snack alternative, and the bag will be empty shortly.

Sensible Foods Roasted Edamame Crunch Dried Snack, 0.65 oz – Buy a box of 24 for $33.36

Another healthy snack with a simple ingredients list: roasted soybeans (edamame) and salt! While these aren’t quite potato chips, they still have the salty crunch I enjoy while also being packed with fiber and protein. I am a big edamame fan, so if I saw these in the store I could see myself repurchasing them.

The Verdict: I can always count on Yogi Surprise to deliver items that I will enjoy. Any box with tasty snacks and aromatherapy is going to be successful for me. I thought the curation fit the Ahimsa theme pretty well, and I enjoyed the mix of products. Value-wise I couldn't find a value for everything, but when you consider what the shirt would cost at a store, the sheet masks, the intention cards, selenite wand, and aromatherapy spray, plus the snacks, I do think you come close to the promised value of $100.

I was going to say the shirt has “MSA” right on it (inadvertently of course.) 😁

Sally

Ahimsa is spelled incorrectly in the Devanagari on the t-shirt.
