Beauty Heroes November 2020 Review feat. Biophile

You'll always get a card with a new monthly ritual that includes past and present featured Beauty Heroes items.

The second info card you'll get has a little more info about the featured brand, Biophile, as well as details on the items sent.

Biophile Root Bionic Refining Essence, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $78.00

So at first glance, I am incredibly into this brand. The glass bottles, little squirt nozzles (that work really well!), and the emphasis on botanicals, roots, and ferments! This first formula is an essence that preps your skin perfectly for other skincare layers but also adds a natural radiance to your skin. The texture is liquidy but not difficult to apply. Inside is a whole party of wonderful ingredients like willow bark, aloe, ferments from Burdock and licorice, ginger, and more! It also contains hyaluronic acid for a moisture boost and lactic acid for improved skin texture. I found this formula to lay a little sticky on my face, but after about an hour that went away. It was remedied even faster when I applied a moisturizer on top. The whole experience of this formula felt really earthy in a wonderful way.

Biophile Bio-Shroom Rejuvenating Serum, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $148.00

This expensive little potion (described by the brand as a "Shroom Biotic Broth") is wonderful for applying right after the essence above. Again, it feels a little tacky on the skin, but this is remedied by a moisturizer. The ingredient list more than makes that very slight discomfort worth it. If I thought the essence was earthy and wonderful, this serum is even more so. These two formulas do have a little bit of overlap (mainly the hyaluronic and lactic acids and aloe) but this one brings fermented mushroom extracts, niacinamide, and even more to the table. My skin seems to really like fermented ingredients and this was another little bottle that I fell in love with. This blend is bursting with antioxidants which are essential for a skincare routine with a focus on anti-aging and overall skin health.

Verdict: This month, Beauty Heroes sent some really incredible formulas full of great ingredients and bursting with natural and earthy vibes. I was very impressed with both of these formulas and their great ingredient lists as well as the beautiful branding and packaging. It is really the best of all the things I like! These are the sorts of formulas that do immediately improve skin texture and softness, but it is going to take a longer application timeframe to see further benefits like fine line reduction and overall brightness. Either way, I am looking forward to getting to know these little bottles even better over time. The total value of this month's box lands at $226 which is a bargain for a $58.95 box! In addition to a wonderful value, I am excited to try out such a cool brand that is new to me.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

All I can say is “meh.” The two products are okay but nothing special for me. You have to use the serum very lightly or it will pill when you put anything on top. I have used way better toners. Biophile is okay but nothing special and I definitely would never purchase any of their products.

I received my December box today and I am so delighted with it! I was curious as to why they haven’t post any spoilers and now I understand why…. Hope this shipment makes everyone as happy as it made me. Definitely a Happy Monday!

They post spoilers for beauty heroes on MSA on the 1st of the month. So expecting them tomorrow

December spoiler alert below:

Not sure if anyone will see this, but I received my December box today and the featured product is Ayuna’s limited edition Terra Bella Cannabic Sublimating Cream (3.4oz) that comes in a beautiful ceramic jar and retails for $455 (an 87% savings if you get a single monthly box). I thought I’d share because once spoilers are posted tomorrow I’m sure the box is going to sell out super fast. I checked BH’s site, and they make no mention of December’s box being sold out, so I think it’s still available. 🙂

This is one of those boxes I wasn’t that excited about but once I opened it up and started using – I love it! One of the things I love about BH is that they ship to try to get it to us for the first of the month.
FYI – Beauty heroes announced a few days ago on Instagram this box is sold out. They announced before that when the last day to buy would be.

Me too!!!! It makes me so happy!!!!

After taking a 1 year break from them this was the box that motivated me to subscribe! I’ve been very happy with the Biophile and I incorporated a 5 step routine with them just as the ritual card suggested. Im being diligent and using twice a day!

Im sad I missed the Bathing Culture box. Depending if they do a 30% discount on BH or in BC website I might finally purchase the gel. The other item in my radar is the Boxwalla Fine box that was recently reviewed, and Im
also tempted to get a Mintd mistery box. decisions, decisions….

The Bathing Culture box was amazing! I did pick up 2 more of the body soap during BH anniversary sale. I noticed that BH also has a 20% discount this weekend for Black Friday. Also as a subscriber you always get a discount on Shop purchases. I can highly recommend the Boxwalla Fine special edition if it is still available!

Thanks Lydea! I will wait till Friday or maybe even push it to Monday before buying. Although the Fine box is already at a good price… Im risking it!

Luna

I’ve been so intrigued by this brand, that once it was revealed as the featured brand I couldn’t help but to re-sub for another 3 months. I can’t wait to see what December’s box brings! 🙂

Well Luna, did you see?

Luna

Yay! I’m glad you were able to get a box! 😀

Kristin

I was curious by the comments so googled, I couldn’t sign up fast enough!

Luna

I did! I actually posted spoilers in this post (with a disclaimer) earlier today so people could get their hands on the box before spoilers are posted tomorrow since I’m sure it’ll sell out super fast, but MSA removed my post 🙁 Needless to say, I was floored when I opened my box this morning. 🙂

Beka

These look so luxurious to use! I am seriously considering buying this box…. great review Megan
