October 2020 Dapper Dog Box Review

Each box comes with two info cards, one listing the featured item of the month—the Dapper Dog monthly bandana—and the other has some social media info as well as a little more info about the charitable nature of this box.

Murray is ready to dig in!

Happy Howl-o-ween Bandana

Every month Dapper Dog includes a festive double-sided bandana. This style is simple to tie and fits perfectly around my dog's neck. This month's theme is "Happy Howl-o-ween," featuring one batty side and a werewolf and jack-o-lantern pattern on the flip side.

Here is the bandana modeled on my BFF, Murray (he is my 9-year-old Corgi-Maltese); the medium size fits him to a T!

No tricks, just treats, buddy!

Witch Toy

Typically Dapper Dog sends out plush toys that are cute and made from quality materials, but I didn't like the feel of this one. If Murray didn't handle his toys so lovingly, this toy would have been history at first bite. He did end up sinking a tooth into its stuffing while we had our little photo shoot, but it never went further than that. This toy is cute, but it definitely isn't the quality we are used to. Also, each toy was unbranded this month, which is a little off-putting; there are dog brands I know and trust, and I like knowing where his toys are made as well.

Exclusively Pet Boho Biscuits, 8 oz – Retail Value $6.69

Murray is such a huge fan of Exclusively Pet treats. Even though crunchy biscuits are not his favorite, he ate each treat so fast, and there wasn't one crumb left from these crumbly biscuits. How cute are these burger-shaped treats? They are made in the USA from grains and vegetables, totally meatless!

Yum!

Exclusively Pet Mutt-On Chops, 7 oz - Retail Value $7.29

Dapper Dog knows Murray needs some chewy, meaty treats with each delivery. He was stoked over these bite-sized Mutt-on Chops! They didn't have that typically overpowering stank that he loves, but they still left him begging for more. The protein in these meaty treats is from lamb and garbanzo beans; I am hoping the extra fiber is gentle on his belly.

These treats are made in the US with all-natural ingredients.

Jack-O-Lantern Rope Toy

Mur is more of a catch and release type of guy when it comes to play, but sometimes he is in the mood to play tug-of-war with a pair of socks. Luckily for us, we can now replace the usual sock grab with this rope toy! If it were any bigger, I don't think he would have vibed with it, but since it is perfect for his dainty grasp, he got on with this toy right away. This toy is also unbranded, but it seems to be better quality than the toy above.

Verdict: Dapper Dog's October box has some really awesome treats in it; I also love the Halloween-themed bandana, which may be my favorite find from DD this month. I could only tally up the total of the treats this month, which came to $13.98. Based on the quality of the toys, I don't think that the items sent out this month come out to equal the cost of the box. The value of this subscription typically balances out to about how much you would pay at retail price for its contents, but I don't think that is true for this shipment.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
