Scent Box September 2020 Review
This month, I received Scent Box’s “Scent of the Month.”
The information card usually has a little information about the men’s scent of the month on one side and the women’s on the other side.
In case I have not mentioned it in the past, you receive a new atomizer every month. The fragrance is printed on a sticker on the bottom, and the atomizers tend to be different colors each month, so you can still keep them sorted out.
On to the fragrance:

I will be completely honest, I often do like celebrity fragrances, even for celebrities I don't really follow, and that is the case here, as well.
Top notes include mandarin, cassis, rum, and passionfruit. I think the rum is probably what I like here; the passionfruit is not super strong but that's OK because strong passionfruit scent can be a little too much for me. Mid notes include pink freesia, jasmine, orange blossom, and honeysuckle. None of these are particularly strong or overpowering and none really stand out. That's not a problem for me as I'm not so into florals. I think the blend kind of works with the other notes, really, especially the rum. Base notes include sandalwood, musk, Siam benzoin, and vanilla, which are all solid notes in my book. I particularly like the combination of sandalwood and vanilla in pretty much any fragrance and it works here as well.
Note: your body chemistry may be different, I read a lot of reviews that described this as fruity and floral and that is just not what it smells like on me at all. This is definitely a sweet fragrance and I do like those; although there aren't specific sugary notes, I think some of that stems from the vanilla and some from the rum.
The sillage here is on the softer side, and this isn't super long-lived, but I find that to be true for a lot of celebrity scents, especially at this price point.
This fragrance was introduced in 2015 and has been discontinued but some is still available at deep discounts from online retailers.
Verdict: The estimated value of my fragrance this month is $4.80. Although I do like the fragrance, that is not a good value, even considering the free atomizer and free returns. The past couple of scents of the month have been pretty low in value. That's not to say I wouldn't recommend the subscription, but I'd suggest choosing your own fragrances instead of letting them pick for you. You can investigate notes beforehand, and read reviews (like at Fragrantica) to see if you think you would like them, and you can also calculate values in advance. The risk is pretty low, overall, because of the free returns.
