September 2020 Petit Vour Plus Review

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included, and the prices of the full-size versions.

Let's dive in!

Province Apothecary Moisturizing Cleanser + Makeup Remover, 30 mL - Retail Value $20.00

This is pretty much my ideal sort of oil cleanser. It has nourishing oils from sunflower seed, jojoba, avocado, evening primrose, and raspberry seed paired with aromatherapy oils like bergamot, frankincense, and petitgrain. If you are sensitive to essential oils proceed with caution, but this is a very lightly scented oil so I suspect most people will be totally fine with this cleanser! It seriously feels so nice on my skin and makes effortless work of dissolving that day's makeup and dirt. I like to use an oil cleanser as the first step in a double cleanse routine, applying it in circular motions to my dry face, rinsing, then following up with a cream or gel cleanser.

FiOR Minerals Organic Eyeliner in 'Brown Sugar', 1.3 g - Full Size! Retail Value $18.00 (currently on sale for $14.00)

It isn't often that I legitimately really dislike a product. I can usually find a bright side, or maybe just understand that it isn't meant for my skin type or general needs. I honestly can't see this eyeliner being ideal for anyone. It is made for sensitive eyes (great!) but it applies in such a scratchy and uneven way that even if your eyes are fine with the more gentle ingredients they are going to be upset by the actual act of applying it. It also sheds chunks of liner and even after warming it up and really trying to make it work, I found it just dreadful. I mean, I guess I can be happy it wasn't black?

NO.

Jane Iredale LipDrink Lip Balm SPF 15 in 'Flirt', 4 g - Full Size! Retail Value $17.00

I am currently visiting with my mom down in Tennessee, and she has already called dibs on this cute little pink balm. It feels like butter on my lips and has a bright and citrusy scent that anyone could enjoy. It gives lips just the tiniest amount of pink flush which is perfect for a more natural look. It also has SPF15 but lacks any of that gross taste or texture that sunscreen lip balms often suffer from.

Subtle, but noticeable.

Little Barn Apothecary Honeysuckle + Grapefruit Body Oil, 44 mL - Estimated Value $18.64 (Buy a full-size 118 mL for $50.00)

While I don't consider my skin sensitive (goodness knows I slather literally anything on my face) I do have legs that break out really badly after shaving if I use lotions. I have found that using body oil somehow avoids this problem, so I am always going through many bottles at a time just trying to keep my legs soft. This is a blend of sesame oil and avocado oil, paired with the aromas of honeysuckle and a little citrus. It is very floral and almost spicy but in the best way! My legs soak it up without any dreadful bumps and the moisture stays for hours! I like to apply oils like this before bed (I sleep in cozy sweatpants) and in the morning my legs feel so smooth!

Ursa Major Bright & Easy 3-Minute Flash Mask, size unknown - Listed Value $6.00 (Buy a full size 50 mL for $44.00)

This mask has a really fun jello-like texture. It is easy to apply it in a nice thin layer to your face while using very little! Wait three minutes then wash it off for instant brightening and exfoliation thanks to the dead skin cell-fighting fruit enzymes inside. While this is a gentle mask (with a very short wear time) it does have alcohol pretty early on in the ingredient list. Use your own judgment here (alcohol isn't a big deal for everyone) if you have drier or more reactive skin.

Akar Skin Balance Toning Mist, 0.5 fl oz - Travel Size! Retail Value $15.00

I keep waiting for a full-size bottle of this mist to finally show up in a box (COUGH COUGH) but I will be happy with this little travel size for now. I know, I know, not everyone is as into mists as I am, but I legit use them every day all day long. I love them! They are refreshing, usually smell great, and just feel good on my skin while keeping me dewy and cute. This one is a blend of rose water, neroli water, willow bark, and radish root ferment. A+!

LUXE Botanics Camu Brightening Moisturizer, 7 mL - Retail Value $10.00

Our last item is a cream that I also would have loved to see arrive in a larger size, because it is pretty great! If you have dry skin, you are going to love this. It has all of those awesome and heavy-hitting oils we know and love (jojoba, avocado, grape seed, and shea butter) paired with nourishing camu extract and vitamin E. Fair warning, this is another essential oil-inclusive formula, though I don't actually think the scent is all that strong. It smells a little floral, a little herby, but mostly nutty! I applied this before sleeping and my skin drank it up all night, rewarding me with a very soft feel in the AM. Luckily a little goes a long way here because this tube is tiny!

Verdict: This month's Petit Vour Plus box has a value of around $98.64 before the value of the Ursa Major mask that I couldn't quite verify since I have no clue how large the sample pot is. I really liked this assortment aside from the incredibly disappointing eyeliner. There was enough in here otherwise to make this still feel like a great assortment of skincare items that my face very much enjoyed.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I too suffer from itchy scratchy legs after shaving – Tree Hut has a shave oil that’s amazing. It doesn’t get stuck in your razor and gives a really nice and smooth shave. It’s totally changed my shaving game.

ooooh I will have to try that! I have had a lot of luck with oils but I usually apply them after shaving.

That eyeliner does look awful and scratchy. Everything else in the box looks great though. I’ve been contemplating getting this box for a while, I need to look at the October spoilers

Many repeat items from previous boxes, gonna be mad if I get that eyeliner again: I hope there’s a variant!

This is review for Petit Vour Plus which are “repeats” from regular Petit Vour boxes with $25/month price and 6-7 travel & full-sized products.
I think it has more full-sized items compared to the regular box.
I didn’t subscribe anymore but I remember it was ‘almost all’ skincare, but they might change it now as there are 2 non-skincare included (Is tinted lip balm included as skincare?).

Thanks Inge, I read too quickly!
