GlossyBox September 2020 Review
GlossyBox includes an info booklet that tells you about each included item, its value, and a tip on how to use it.
Melusine Paris Facial Roller - Retail Value $21.00
My first item is a very cute and petite little jade roller. I have a few of these rollers in different stones, but this might be the first one I have that only has a roller on one end. Rollers like this are great for massaging in serums but also targeting those little and oft-forgotten muscles in your face. I hold a lot of tension right between my eyebrows and rollers are a much more effective way for me to get to them when compared to my fingertips. And they are a dream for red skin if you put them in the fridge for 30 minutes before you use!
ROSEN Skincare Break-Out Spot Treatment, 11 mL - Full Size! Retail Value $18.00
I thought this was a little tube of white powder but it is actually a chalky mixture with a little moisture. It came with a doe-foot you can use to apply it directly to any pesky zits you might have going on. In my case, they are all over my lower cheeks and jawline. As someone who never really ever broke out before masks became a thing, a product like this is welcome! It has zinc oxide, peppermint oil, and apple cider vinegar inside. I tried this overnight and it totally helped minimize a few especially dreadful spots!
Vitamasques Ruby Sheet Mask - Retail Value $7.00
I loved this mask immediately! It is a cute pink color and smells lightly of geranium. The clear serum feels great on my skin and the sheet mask fit really well! This was a mask that just was fun to use, and left my skin looking bright and hydrated and my mood lifted.
Pink!
Daily Concepts Daily Beauty Head Band - Retail Value $12.00
I should have probably worn this headband before I applied my mask to keep my baby hairs from sticking to it, but I never seem to plan things well. This terrycloth mask is great for keeping your hair back when you are deep cleansing or masking. It is super stretchy, even fitting my big noggin with ease.
Banila Co Miss Flower & Mr. Honey Cream, 10 mL - Estimated Value $6.17 (buy a full size 2.3 oz for $42.00)
This is the cutest little sample! Inside the yellow pot is a cream that honestly is more like a balm. It smells like honey and feels great on my skin! I thought this was a hand cream at first but it is actually for your face and neck. The combination of honey extract, niacinamide, ceramides, and botanical oils form a dream team for dry and stressed skin. A little goes a long way, so this little pot should last quite a while and well into the season of cold winds and chapped skin!
Codex Beauty Bia Exfoliating Wash, 36 mL - Estimated Value $12.96 (Buy a full-size 125 mL for $45.00)
While I didn't super love this wash, it was still nice to try it since I haven't used anything by this brand before. It just felt a little filmy on my face. I did like the scent (citrus and elderflower) and the light and very gentle exfoliation provided. It also has salicylic acid inside, which is one of my fave chemical exfoliators, good for both fine lines and acne!
Verdict: This month's GlossyBox has a value of around $77.13. This was a pretty good GlossyBox. I liked the spot treatment, sheet mask, and honey balm the most! I don't need another jade roller but this one was unique and would make a great little holiday gift. The headband is useful and the exfoliating wash was still fun, even if it wasn't a favorite for me. I found it interesting that there was zero makeup this month, but instead, it was very skincare focused and felt like a little bit of a self-care theme!
