Gentleman's Box October 2020 “Game Show Host" Review

This is our issue of the Gentleman's Post which is basically a booklet that describes the theme for the month and highlights the items included in our box. This month's box is honoring their favorite game show host, Alex Trebek, and the purple colors inside are in support of his fight against pancreatic cancer. They recommend wearing these items for World Pancreatic Cancer Day on November 19, 2020. I love that this box has a real purpose.

Mr. Usher Tie - Listed Value $26.00
Our tie is a deep purple color this month which is the official color for pancreatic awareness. While my husband really likes the color, he wasn't a huge fan of the textured look, but he appreciated that it was something a little out of the ordinary.

Here it is on. I think this unique tie actually looks better on than both of us expected and he liked it a lot more once it was on.

Mr.Usher Socks - Listed Value $13.00
These socks are from the same company as the tie we received and the darker purple colors accent the tie nicely. My husband liked these a lot and appreciated the polka dot pattern. These are a blend of 80% cotton, 17% polyamide, and 3% elastane.

Oak and Stone Tie Clip - Listed Value $19.00
This tie clip is my husband's favorite item this month. This textured knot clip has a vintage silver look to it and is definitely an eye-catching accent. It's so unique and will be a great addition to his growing collection of tie clips!

Nectar Sunglasses - Listed Value $45.00
My husband is always grateful for another pair of sunglasses. We both have a habit of leaving them in each other's cars or somewhere around the house so having some extras in a pinch is always nice. These are a very simple tortoiseshell style that should look great on almost anyone. The lenses are made from polycarbonate which means they are scratch-resistant and lightweight. They also came with a nice travel bag to keep them protected. You can see these pictured on him in the photos with the tie above.

Mr. Lapel Pin - Listed Value $15.00
This is another special occasion item that my husband probably won't get much use out of. While the deep purple color is nice and the shape is unique, the white edges keep it from looking more elegant. From far away, it looks nice, but up close the details are a little messy.
Verdict: My husband and I both appreciated that this month's Gentleman’s Box provided items to support pancreatic awareness. The style of that tie is really unique and it was nice to receive something a bit different, especially since it fit so well within the theme. While he probably won't get much use from the lapel pin, he really loves the socks, sunglasses, and the tie clip design. Overall, it was a nice box for $29 + free shipping, especially since the listed retail value is $118.
