FaceTory 7 Lux September 2020 Review

Now on to the masks!

ESW Beauty The Pink Dream Mask - Retail Value $6.00 (currently sold out)

This was the first mask I reached for this month because I am a sucker for cute packaging. The mask itself was not pink and it actually didn't smell like watermelon, rose water, or grapefruit. I still really loved this one and would totally buy a few more! My skin loves rose water and I thought that calming essence blended with the brightening powers of the fruit extracts was a very cool choice. The serum was clear and light, and my skin felt like a dream after removing this sheet.

Ultru I’m Sorry for My Skin Calendula Revitalizing Mask - Retail Value $3.50 (currently sold out)

This was another cute mask. The material was embedded with yellow petals. It was a mask that still fit well and was drenched in a clear serum with a calming floral scent. This was one of those that feels a lot more relaxing than some others and was very hydrating when I removed it.

Farmskin Superfood Salad for the Skin Pore-Purifying Carrot Mask - Retail Value $3.50

I think I tend to take sheet masks so literally. I was thinking this would smell like carrots! It didn't, which is probably a good thing. Inside is a juicy serum with carrot root extract (a massive source of vitamin A!) and centella, my favorite botanical right now. It felt great on my face and compared to the others this month, showed the most noticeable difference in my skin brightness!

Beauty of Joseon Centella Asiatica Calming Mask - Retail Value $2.50

Yessssss! Give me all the cica! My redness-prone skin loved this stuff. This mask was pretty straightforward and though it lacked any bells or whistles I found it very cooling and hydrating. And, of course, redness-reducing! This clear serum also had artemisia, another boon for red or ruddy skin. I liked that this serum absorbed easily and left me without any filminess.

Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Mask - Retail Value $5.00

This was an incredibly thin bio-cellulose mask that feels like a second skin. Sometimes these masks can feel a little dry, but the majority of the good stuff is actually inside the material itself and they can be really great for dry and aging skin. This one fit well and had a nice mix of coconut water and panthenol inside. It smelled a little like clay but in a very earthy and calming sort of way.

Neogen Dermalogy Probiotics Relief Mask - Retail Value $4.40

This serum was thicker and very creamy! It has a sweet and floral scent that I loved immediately. I did find that the mask didn't fit me well because the eyes were a little too close together for comfort. I ended up removing it early because I was uncomfortable with serum slipping into my eye. Though I love the scent and the ceramides inside this one, it left me feeling filmy. I ended up also washing my face immediately after this one.

LalaChuu Soothing Essential Mask White Truffle - Retail Value $6.00

I keep running notes on these masks as I review them because it would just be too much to remember with so many masks. My notes for this one mention this mask smelled like garden dirt and fruit loops, which apparently was a good thing because I then added 3 thumbs up emojis. I mean, it does sound like a scent I would be into.. ANYWAYS, this mask was hard to apply because it was SO thin. It was also prone to stretching as I tried to apply it which wasn't great since the strip between the nose and mouth holes was already thin. Aside from these minor complaints, I loved this mask. The truffle extract paired with loads of hyaluronic acid left my skin looking dewy and smooth!

Farmskin Superfood for Skin Blueberry Hand Cream, 75 mL - Retail Value $7.50

I loved this hand cream. Normally I shy away from anything with a berry scent because they are so often too sweet or artificial. This one is natural and extremely light. The cream itself is pretty freaking awesome. It's thick and creamy but absorbs fast, and you can literally feel your dry skin drink it up! My hands always get super chapped all winter long, so I plan on buying a few extras of this amazing cream, especially for that price.

Pureforet Clean Mist Hand Sanitizer, 80 mL - Retail Value $7.50 (currently on sale for $2.00)

FYI: This was a mystery bonus. You might have something different!

This is a timely arrival. With cold and flu season upon us, as well as the general craziness of 2020, I keep hand sanitizer close by at all times. It has a lemongrass and tea tree scent, and while I don't like lemongrass, the tea tree makes it much more herbal.

Verdict: FaceTory was a great delivery this month. I thought all the masks (save one) were really great and I loved the wide range of ingredients and formulas. The bonus item was also great, and totally appropriate for this time of year. My overall value lands at $45.90 which is a nice saving on the $19.90 cost of this subscription.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No. Your subscription will likely begin with the October box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $19.90 + free shipping, which means that each of the 9 items in the box has an average cost of $1.99.
