The Box By Fashionsta for Men is a monthly men's box brought to you by online beauty store, Fashionsta, for $29.99/month with free shipping. Each box will include 5-7 full-size skincare and other self-care products for men with an $80-$150 value. They seem to focus on smaller indie brands that may be new to you, so it's a great way to discover companies that haven't blown up in popularity yet. Fashionsta also offers The Box For Women ($24.99/month) as well as a mystery box that costs $40 as an add-on with a subscription or $50 as a one-time purchase.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Box By Fashionsta for Men July 2020 Review

FYI: my original box was damaged upon delivery, but I reached out to The Box by Fashionista's customer service and they sent out a replacement box within about two weeks.

The Box By Fashionsta for Men comes with a simple info card that gives a short description of each included product. I am writing this review based on my husband's testimonial for each item! He is always down to try new products if I give them to him, so this was a fun and new journey for him into the subscription box world!

Daily Facial Cleansing Wipes by Baker Rye Co., 25 sheets - Retail Value $19.99

These wipes are perfect for my husband! He never washes his face at night before bed (it drives me crazy), but these are a quick and easy way for him to clean his face. His skin can be on the oily side, but these leave him with a super clean feeling. He also loved that they didn't have a strong scent, not overpowering, just a great clean smell. The wipes' main ingredients are Water, Propylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Disodium, Cocoamphodiacetate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Allantoin, Grapefruit Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Citric Acid, Charcoal, Grapefruit Fragrance, and Hyaluronic Acid.

Hyaluronic Skin Toner by Baker Rye Co., 3.38 fl oz.

Toners are my favorite so I was really excited to see this product! I secretly love adding products to my husband's skincare routine and toner is something great for his skin type. This vegan and cruelty-free toner are great to use in the am and pm, especially to use after shaving. This toner works to reset your pH levels, reduce pores while protecting it from natural eliminates. My husband loved how soothing this toner was! He said it was great to use after a long day at the pool with too much sun, and it is super refreshing to use in the am. It has an amazingly clean and fresh smell! The main ingredients are water, sweet almond oil, aloe leaf extract, fig, and more!

Charcoal Facial Moisturizer by BAD ACE For Men, 4 oz. - Retail Value $25.00

This moisturizer is perfect for my husband (I keep saying that a lot this month)! The moisturizer is lightweight so it doesn't leave your face looking oily or as I like to call it "glowing." My husband has oily skin so he doesn't really need any extra shine, but it is so important to hydrate your skin. This moisturizer gives him the hydration that he needs without giving him a glow. The charcoal helps to fight skin irritations while the camellia seed oils lock in moisture. Some of the top ingredients include Water, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Methylpropanediol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycerin, Isopropyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Dipropylene Glycol, and Camellia Japonica Seed Oil. The best part is that this smell so good! My husband came up to me to tell me he used the moisturizer and I immediately said, "Oh you smell so manly!" It was woodsy, clean, and fresh!

Shave Gel by Anthony, 6 fl oz. - Retail Value $20.00

My husband has a big beard that he will probably never fully shave off. He usually just goes in waves of short beard, medium beard, to haven't shaved in a year beard. That being said, shave gel is not something that would get used by him. Luckily, my Dad is always looking for shave gel that helps his sensitive skin so I was happy to pass this along to him. This is a soothing gel, so no foam here, and it helps to soothe any irritation from the start. My Dad was really excited that this was a gel because he said gels are way easier to use, especially when you are in a rush! This gel is made with Aloe Vera, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, and Cornmint oil to keep skin bacteria-free.

Brilliant Black Bamboo Toothbrush by Terra & Co. - Retail Value $10.00

This toothbrush is so chic! It is eco-friendly, made of bamboo that is biodegradable and free of chemicals that harm the environment. It has a medium-soft bristle that is made with activated charcoal to help with teeth whitening while still being gentle on your teeth and gums. My husband said that he loved the look of this toothbrush, but what he loved the most is how gentle the bristles felt on his teeth while still leaving him with a clean feeling. I love giving toothbrushes in Christmas stockings so this might be one that I get this year for the adults in my family!

Premium Natural Toothpaste in Peppermint by Davids, 5.25 oz - Retail Value $9.95

I am going to be honest, my husband was not excited to try this product. He is very particular about his toothpaste, but he is always a good sport and reluctantly gave this a go. He actually really liked it! I don't know if he will go out and buy a new one once this is gone, but he said he has been using this for a few days now and it is growing on him! He said that the texture was grainy with a super strong flavor at first. The thing that he didn't like was that it was very watery instead of sudsy. His teeth felt clean though so once he got used to the texture, he said he started to like it more! This toothpaste works to naturally whiten your teeth and removes plaque. It is also fluoride-free, SLS free, and comes in a recyclable metal tube. The top ingredients in this are calcium carbonate (limestone abrasive), vegetable glycerin, purified water, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), xylitol (birch derived), hydrated silica, sodium cocoyl glutamate, carrageenan (seaweed derived), Mentha Piperita (peppermint oil), mentha viridis (spearmint) leaf oil, Pimpinella anisum (anise) seed extract, gaultheria procumbens (wintergreen) leaf oil, stevia (leaf extract).

Verdict: This month's The Box By Fashionsta for Men was all about quality! My husband right away told me that all of the products weren't anything he couldn't live without, but each product was something that he wanted to keep using because of the quality! So really they were things he never had and realized he needed, hahaha! For me, I love seeing him receive products that allow him to create and build a skincare routine while taking some self-care time (we all need it). His favorite item this month were the face wipes because it allows him to clean his face without having to take the time to really do it. Quick and easy is the way to go sometimes! He loved the toner and how hydrated it left his skin, and he mentioned that he wasn't sure what toner was but he was really into it. The charcoal moisturizer is the perfect product for his skin and it has him using it both morning and night which is great! While he wasn't able to use the shave gel, I gifted it to my Dad who was so excited to try it! I wasn't able to find all of the products for sale, but this month's retail value came to an estimated $84.94, which at $29.99 a month for this box you cannot beat that value! This month's box was the whole package, from the curation to the quality, it was a big hit for my husband! Seeing him get products and taking the time to take care of himself is really what makes me so happy and I love going through each product with him. This is the perfect box for any guy in your life from the skincare and self-care product lover that is just looking to learn about new brands to the guy that doesn't do much but is looking to evolve his routine like my husband!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Your box will ship within 1-3 weeks from the payment processing date, so you'll likely start with the September box. It's best to reach out to customer service and ask!

Value Breakdown: The box costs $29.99 (free shipping), which means that each of the 6 skincare and self-care items in the box has an average cost of $4.99.

Is there a reason you never let one of your male writers review this box? There’s no where near enough information here and I feel like I’m reading a barkbox review or something. Please just let the guy who reviews Basic Man review this.
