Postmark'd Studio PostBox "Dog Days of Summer" Review

As always, everything is SO thoughtfully packaged. It makes for a really nice unboxing every single month.

Anne always sends a super cute little note in a tiny envelope. This month is all about dogs and as someone who has three, I am here for it!!

This month is dedicated to dogs and the back of our info card tells the wild story of Owney, The Post Office Dog.

Our customary blue postcard also arrived this month complete with an adorable paw print.

Feel Better Doggie Card by Good Juju Ink - Retail Value $5.00

We recently had to put a cone on Piper for an ear infection, and it is one of those things that is both so pathetic and also cute at the same time. I can't imagine this dog in a cone wouldn't bring a smile to anyone who isn't feeling well! I love the illustration style and gold foil accents.

Thanks a Bunch Card by Smudge Ink - Retail Value $5.00

How sweet is this Border Collie with a bouquet? This is the perfect card for showing appreciation to a fellow dog lover. It arrived with a very cute kraft paper style envelope.

I Miss You Card by Fickle Hill Press - Retail Value $6.00

Anyone who has ever left their pup at home alone and returned to a destroyed couch, trash can, closet full of shoes, or something else knows exactly the vibes of this card. This pup has made quite the mess in the living room! This cute chaos is enhanced with the bright yellow envelope. This is the perfect card to send to show someone just how much you miss them.

Happy Birthday Poodle Pop-Up Card by Inklings Paperie - Retail Value $6.00

Ok, so I have a standard poodle and I am a bit poodle obsessed. Granted, Tucker is not a fancy sort of guy, but I can't help but love this chic black poodle with her 3D pop-up puff!

Black Lives Matter Postcard by Nanu Studio - Retail Value $4.00

This card features an illustration of a real dog named Ollie sketched back in June of 2020 by Krishna Chavda of Nanu Studio. What a handsome guy with a very important message! This postcard is perfect for mailing to a friend, family member, or legislator of your choice. Proceeds support Color of Change, a progressive civil rights organization focused on criminal justice advocacy, political advocacy, and strengthening Black voices.

Silver Pawprint Wax Seal Kit

Our artsy doodad this month is a 'pawfect' wax seal kit featuring a paw print stamp and pretty silver wax. Simply light the wax "candle", let some of the drops of wax fall on your envelope, and press the stamp in. Voila! Sealed with something even better than a kiss.

Vintage Stamps

And here is our monthly envelope filled with vintage postage. Anne always includes a postage calculator for those of us who are mathematically challenged.

Verdict: This month's Postmark'd box was one of my favorites! I love dogs so much. Every card and item inside was all about man's best friend and I really enjoyed it. The cards were all creative, high quality, and I can't wait to send 'em in the mail. Because I am trying to support the USPS with extra business right now, I might hang on to the stamps for myself and invest in the latest sheet of stamps that have caught my eye.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Am I the only one who is a little offended by the Black Lives Matter thing? I mean, I’m glad they are giving the proceeds to a supportive cause, but I don’t think I’m ready to make a Joke out of that phrase, even if it is cute.

I’m with you, Theresa. I appreciate that the creator had her heart in the right place and used the illustration to raise money in support of BLM, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable sending that postcard to anyone, out of concern that the recipient would see it the way I did, as an attempt to take the serious message about people and turn it into a lighthearted joke about animals.

I felt the same way. I appreciate that the proceeds go to a good cause, the dog was sketched, etc. But there is 0% chance that I would ever use it as it seems quite offensive.

Hey Theresa! Totally get where you are coming from but the owner of Nanu Studios sketched this from a real pup! Per her site “This Black Lives Matter postcard was born from an illustration I made for a fundraiser I did in June 2020 to raise money for bail funds and social justice organizations. Net proceeds from this postcard benefit Color of Change and their dedicated work to fight for racial justice for Black people in the USA.” I hope this gives a little more info about her intentions with this piece of work. Thank you for reading my review!
