Ipsy Glam Bag Plus September 2020 Choice Time!

So I did not do choice this month (like I said in my first post). Originally they had chosen a set of Starskin masks and a oil cleanser. Today those were gone and my bag shows very different things. I’m getting the Space Case palette (okay), Wander Beauty eyeliner (opted out of), an Ofra lip gloss (not happy with, I don’t wear gloss and always rank terrible), a Context Skin eye cream (I have so many, but I’ll eventually use it) and a BeautyBlender! Very excited for that as I do use them regularly and a backup is always welcome!

I thought it was interesting that my bag changed so radically, I thought the two items Ipsy chose would be in the bag no matter what. I also don’t care if they are no longer doing opt outs, if that is true they should contact us and let us know.

So I didn’t actually choose this month. We’ll see what Ipsy sends me, right now it’s not showing up. I was really disappointed in the choices this month. Items I had already gotten, items I have opted out of, and a whole bunch of lip glosses were the majority of my choices. There were two items I wanted (the Dr. Brandt scrub and Complex Culture brush), but they were in the same category. I didn’t want any of my choices in the first two categories because I didn’t need a repeat or something I don’t want and I have about 80 lip glosses that I need to use up already.

Did anyone else not choose last month? What was your experience? Or, did anyone else not choose this month? I wish we could choose just in one category and not be forced to choose something from each one.

I was okay with my choices this month.. I was thankfully still awake when everything went live (thank you insomnia) so I didn’t have to worry about things being sold out.

I don’t hate my September bag, but it’s nowhere near as good as my August bag. It seems they stuck in a lot of older and lower priced items.

Ipsy chose for me:

Starskin duo: I love sheet masks, especially in hot weather, and this is a pricey brand that i would never buy myself, so i’m happy to receive it.

Context Vitamin C eye cream: I love receiving eye cream, but i saw this was discontinued by Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, and Birchbox, so i can’t help but wonder if this is leftover old merchandise they are trying to get rid of.

I chose:

Dr. Brandt Pore dermabrasion: I loved their anti aging dermabrasion that was in an Ipsy bag last year, so i’m looking forward to trying this one.

Cela Seed to Skin: I received a mini of this and liked it, so i chose the full size tube.

Colourpop trio: I didn’t really want this, but I didn’t like any of my options, so it was a whatever selection.

All in all, i’d be willing to pay $25 for the Dr. Brandt and Cela items, so I’m not disappointed in the bag.

My choices weren’t the best.
Honestly I’ve seen a couple of these items in the points area where you can buy them with the points we’ve earned. My choice options were luke warm. Some cheap brush set and every color of the eyebrow pencil? I was hoping for maybe the beauty blender or Dr Brandt since my quiz focuses more towards those kind of items instead of the ones I was given to choose from. Believe me this is definitely a first when it comes to being disappointed so I guess I shouldn’t complain but since I’ve seen the options before hand in here it kind of makes you expected of at least some of the good ones lol.

Ipsy chose out the avant discovery edit collagen intense radiance activator serum (ridiculously long name, and ridiculously high retail price) and the context vitamin c eye cream. I chose the Yensa bronzer and brush set, the Bretman colourpop lip set (there really wasn’t anything else in this category that caught my interest), and the complex bronzer brush. The choices were a lot better for me this time compared to last month. I do like coming on here and seeing what other people’s choices were like (for example, my choices were completely different than the ones shown in the post), it kind of reassures me that Ipsy is following my profile when I see so many products that I would not want not given as a choice to me.

I’m actually super excited for my GBP this month!

I feel like I’m pretty easy to please with the Ipsy Bag, but I was really disappointed in this month’s choices and add ons. I’m hoping next month is better.

I’m a little bummed for this month, I wanted to be able to choose at least between the face cleanser and the beauty blender, but neither of those were options for me. Ipsy picked out some face masks and the Trestique cream bronzer stuck for me. My choices were mainly 80% lip glosses. So I ended up picking the Yensa bronzer as well (now i have two bronzers in thus box…. my only other options for that category were lip products) Then I chose the Item beauty lip gloss (this category was all lip products and a hair mist), and then my last category I chose the Dr Brant pore exfoliater because the other options were repeats or a cheapy looking brush set. I was hoping to add on the beauty blender but no luck :// but i did add on a nice looking pair of gold tweezers for $3, so i consider that a win at least

PSA: If you got the free add-on from the August add-ons glitch, it will show up as a $3 discount on your add-on order. So keep that in mind if you are skipping add-ons! I got one for each bag. If you didn’t get the email from Ipsy saying they were crediting you a free add-on, I don’t think you’ll get it.

Last month was my best bag since my first Plus bag when they launched and possibly EVER. This month it’s good, but I was a little disappointed by so many repeats. :/

I wanted the Smith and Cult polish, too, but I like getting eye shadow more and I have several similar polishes. My bag is well-rounded and I’m happy, but I didn’t add on anything because it’s all repeats. I wish I hadn’t used my points to get the Maelle lip crayons because they were in add ons. :/ It would also be nice if I had received it already since I would have bought another if I liked it. Oh well.

The choices look good at first glance, but some of these items are really really old … The colourpop x Bret collection is from forever ago and it’s not even around anymore…

I purchased all three bags this time. All of mine are very good. The best ones in awhile. I am not sure about next month. The spoilers are not impressive. I got everything I wanted except Serphine Pallet. I was disappointed that it wasn’t offered in add ons. I hope they have some left and offer it next time.

Really pleased with my bag this month. They chose for me the Starskin sheet masks and a Trestique bronzer. For my choices I selected the Seraphine Botanicals palette, the sleeping mask and a Complex Culture bronzing brush. I LOVE those brushes! Very happy all in all.

Also excited for the actual bag. Stellar month for me. Yay!

I set my alarm and got on at 5:30 pacific time. Some add-ons were sold out.
I liked what they picked for me: Goldfaden serum and an eye cream.
Not impressed with 1 of my choice sections. Picked Yensa bronzer, color pop lip set, and another eye cream. Added on the Farsali set.

Well, this is an OK month. I am disappointed I didn’t see the Avant Glycolic serum or the Beauty Blender foundation.

Ipsy’s Choice
* PUREHEALS – Cantella 80 Eye Cream. I am always up for an eye cream, so this is a good pick
* GOLDFADEN MD – Brightening Elixir Protect + Repair Brightening Serum. Happy with this choice, too. Last month, they didn’t give the the Goldfaden product I chose, and I do like the brand.

My Choice
* DR. BRANT – Pores No More PoreDermabrasion – I just ran out of this, so I chose it because it’s a great product. Would have chosen the Murad had I received the Goldfaden scrub last month like I was supposed to.
* SPACE CASE COSMETICS – Custom Eyeshadow Palette. I thought this four shade palette of metallics was pretty and useful. Nothing else grabbed me.
* SERAPHINE BOTANICALS – Sakura + Sage Palette. Chose this for my daughter because I think it will be pretty with her coloring. I thought about the brushes because they are great, but I have them already.

Overall, a fine month, but not amazing.

Did anyone get the Avant Exfoliant? I havent seen anything about it.

I think this is my best Ipsy bag yet! I logged on at just after 8:00am EST and was able to make my selections with no issues. My choices were pretty different from those above and the few overlaps were grouped differently. I would have loved to have had the Space Case eye shadow Pallette in my second group.

My profile is very heavy on skin care and Ipsy has nailed their two choices since the choice option started.

Did anyone actually get the Beauty Blender (sponge)? Sad I wasn’t offered it

picked my choice at 8:15 a.m. c.s.t. I chose the yenser bronzer and brush, the po pomegranate sleep mask and the Murad vitamin c moisturizer with sunscreen. Ipsy chose for me my two items of McFadden serum which is an $89.00 value and a pure heals eye cream so I am very happy with these products however; the add on did not appeal to me so for the first time, I did not order any.

Ipsy chose for me: Starskin Mask Duo and Trestique 4-pack lip glaze (happy with both choices). My three choice items are: Foxbae hair mask (set of 8 treatments), Item Beauty brow pencil in Deep Brunette, FEEL Vitamin E lip balm. Totally cool with this month’s bag. I will use everything in this month’s curation… that’s the first time in many moons, I can say that. So far, I’m pleased with the choice changes.

I’m confused? I went through the app and I was only given 4 options in each choice and I was there right at 7a.m est. Do you get more choices on computer maybe? I doubt it is because of availability because I was there early when it launched, and last month was the same on the app where the 1st choice only had 4 options too.

FINALLY!!! Looks like Ipsy fixed their issue and I was just now able to pick my 3 choice items and get add-ons. I have been checking constantly for the past 4.5 hours!! Still mad that some stuff was already sold out and there were a lot of repeat items in my choices. Plus I got error msgs a couple times before it let me finalize. Do better Ipsy!

I got to admit I am a little bummed by the choices Ipsy provided me with this month. I had the option of a bunch of repeat items for me. All the items I was interested in were not choices even though they match my profile. That being said, if anyone is interested in selling their Dr. Brandt, I would love to buy it!
