GlobeIn "Bakers Box" Review

Rectangular Baker Dish, Morocco - Retail Value $45.00

Measurements: 12" W x 8.5" L x 2.5" H.

Materials: Ceramic

I thought this dish was charming the moment I saw it. While I am not typically drawn to red, I can't help but think this dish is so festive for the holidays without going overboard. I wish the beautiful designs had been on the outside of it somehow too, as they are usually covered with whatever I am baking, but the whole thing still is adorable. It also feels sturdy and well made. As someone who usually has clear glass baking dishes, this is a welcome addition to my kitchen!

Felt Pom Pom Trivet, Nepal - Retail Value $28.00

Measurements: 8.8" D x 1" H.

Materials: Felted Wool

These looked like straight-up meatballs to me at first! But in a good way. This effect is from the woolen balls being dyed in a red to orange ombre style. We have been using the same trivets in my kitchen for years. Literally they are ones I knitted in college! So we are way overdue for an upgrade or three. Again, my kitchen is a lot more neutral in terms of colors than this or the baking dish, but I kind of like adding a little rustic brick red for the fall.

Cute!

Golden Corn Bread Mix, 3 oz (makes approximately 16 slices) - Retail Value $10.00

I am Southern, so cornbread is just a regular on my table, just as it was when I was growing up! I am always a little bit skeptical about any mix other than my mom's favorite blue and white box, but I decided to give this a try anyway. The mix felt more granular than my regular go-to, and the end effect was a little more rustic. It also wasn't as sweet, which was ok, because I usually top my cornbread off with a scattering of super raw sugar anyways. It bakes up into a crunchy and sweet top layer than is addictive. My mom likes to mix in chilis with her cornbread, but I like to keep it simple, and this mix with a little sugar baked up perfectly. Just add butter!

The Verdict: The GlobeIn 'Baker's Box' had a very fall feel to it. I think it was the red and orange colors and the fact that I always am baking heartier casseroles and dishes in the fall. True, this box felt a little pricy for what was inside, but I can't deny that everything was well made and also delicious! It might have benefitted from a fourth item to feel like a better value. Maybe a coordinating spoon rest?

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! This box is available as of publication.

Note: You need to choose your theme by the 10th of each month or they will select one for you. From GlobeIn:

We'll always try our best to send you the new theme, but it's not a guarantee. To ensure that you know what you will receive, you can choose your own theme from the 1st-10th of the month.

To be eligible for the current month's shipment, please subscribe by the 15th of the month. Premium Boxes typically start shipping around the 18th-21st of every month (the exact day boxes go out varies since our boxes are shipped in batches).

  • Example: If you subscribe on November 14th, your first box will be the November Premium Box. Please note that if you subscribe from the 11th-15th, you will automatically receive a Surprise Theme for that month's Premium Box. Add-ons are not available during this time, but you'll be able to choose add-ons from the 1st-10th for your next box.

  • Example: If you subscribe on November 16th, your first box will be the December Premium Box. Please note that you can choose your theme and add-ons between 1st-10th of the upcoming month.

Value Breakdown: At $50.00 for this box ($40.00 + $10.00 shipping), each of the 3 items has an average cost of $16.67.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I received this “September choice” of the Bakers Box . So much for their promoted use of it during the Thanksgiving holidays.
The main item ( dish ) was broken and in shards upon delivery. I didnt even take it out of the shipping box as I can see pieces of ceramic dish scattered like confetti all in and around the interior. Wrapping flimsy , obviously not appropriate for shipping to protect a breakable item (Yes, I have submitted a photo too to avoid any further stall/ delay from GlobeIn in writing back and forth on this matter with them. Am still waiting to hear something back on this replacement.

I have tried numerous times to get someone to follow up from GlobeIn. I still have one more box I paid for which just to be refunded for now.

Companies that cannot follow with timely orders for subscribers should not continue to advertise to gain and gain new new customers ( to disappoint ).
Shame on you GlobeIn.

Not recommended.

Ladies, do not waste your time and money with this subscription company. I ordered a box in August. Here it is nearing the end of November and still no box. Not even an update on shipping. The company supposedly sent out several emails with shipping updates, and one that stated they were giving a $10 credit to those who haven’t received their boxes yet. I received no such emails not did I receive the $10 credit on my account. This company is very crooked!

You should do more research on Globein …… I speak from personal experience, (we are several dozen to have had a very bad expérience with this company) the customer service is poor, the delivery is almost non-existent and the agreements with the artisans are to their advantage and not that of the artisans, they overestimate the prices (the same items can be bought elsewhere and at a lower cost and delivery times of only a few days !!), they make deceptive advertisements, they say in publicity that artisan boxes which should be available in the month’s picks but oddly it’s still the same 3-4 boxes and some new ones but never all the ones advertised, they say in their posts that the boxes are worth around $200 … 😂 NO !!! if some are close to $125 it is because the prices are boost !! I had a 3 month subscription, which I canceled because after 3 months of waiting for my 1st box, I found it inconceivable that they would take our money but that they did not even have the items in stock !!! When you tell them, there is always a reason: they have not received their orders, they are moving, the Covid etc … They only want to attract new customers and make money …. . Many of us have canceled our subscriptions (sometimes 1 year !) and asked for refunds (several hundred dollars) , which by e-mail threatening to make complaints to the FTC and put this in the hands of lawyer etc…. ended up gaining in cause …..

Globein has not existent customer service and the shipping delays are inexcusable. I regret subscribing and with not renew. I just got July’s box. I doubt August will come before mid-October and I’ll have to relentlessly beg for it to ship to even get it y then. Terrible experience.

Agree! Going on month 4 without a single shipment yet, but lot of excuses.

GlobeIn is horrible, if you question them or are concerned about your order or your items that came broken or whatever-they block you from the GlobeIn fb page and the Maven Community fb page. They only want perfect phony posts to be seen on their site to entice new subscribers and please their investors. Everything is censored and phony bologna. The Maven Community fb page is only for them to sell more stuff to you they can’t deliver. It’s not a Maven page. They say contact customer service if you have questions or concerns-that’s an email only service and lacks communication-just get a runaround. As they say that and then block you for asking a question on the fb page-GlobeIn communicates their customer service problems and excuses on the Maven fb page as to why you are not getting what you paid for. It’s ridiculous! Say something truthful and get blocked from their page-how Mavenly-not!!! Another very important thing to know before you sign up-they advertise all these things that you can choose from only to find out that when it’s time to choose most everything is sold out!!! Not worth your time, energy, or MONEY!!! There’s a whole world of goods to be purchased from companies that deliver and respect you as a customer. Check out their BBB rating. Also there’s another fb page called “Mavens Uncensored-Ethical Fair Trade”. Recommend joining that fb page and learn about other companies that sell many of the same items GlobeIn sells, plus many more. Good Luck and Have a Wonderful Day!

PS-the canned response post above from GlobeIn is so common for them to send out. Same stuff they post on their Maven fb page. Means nothing. Oh, and don’t be truthful or they will ban you from their page even though you are a paid in full annual subscriber. They don’t give refunds-now they have been and promised me a refund, still waiting.

Hi C,

Thank you for this honest feedback and we want you to know that we are listening!

We have recently hired additional Customer Support Representatives and are actively hiring more to assist with our response time and delays. Also, we are happy to announce that we are in the process of switching fulfillment centers! As GlobeIn continues to grow, we needed to find a new facility that can handle the additional monthly shipments in a more efficient manner with less damages. This move will tremendously improve shipping issues in the coming months! We expect to have your boxes out on time, prevent damages, and not have any missing items.

We hope this helps explain how GlobeIn is working to improve as a company. If you have any additional questions or need assistance with your account, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected].

Thank you,
The GlobeIn Team

I’m not sure why MSA keeps reviewing this box? Obviously, there are MAJOR issues with the lack of boxes that PAYING customer’s have yet to receive as far as month’s back. I have been dealing for month’s to get a replacement for my APRIL box (the last of a 3 month sub) that miraculously sold out when I had it as my choice. This has been a struggle, ladies. A lot of back and forth, waiting for day’s in between emails for any response. Just keep emailing, ladies. I’m hoping that my situation has been resolved, but my order still hasn’t shipped yet. We will see. Please, MSA, stop reviewing companies who obviously have taken a lot of your readers’ money with zero in return. Sure, that baking dish is adorable, and I even love the trivet!! But there is 99.9% chance that paying customer’s would not be able to get our hands on this box!!

I had the same issue. My subscription ended in April. They told me they ran into supply shipment problems and I could order again when it becomes available. At first I didn’t even get credit for it. Credit is finally on my account but I cannot purchase anything because they inactivated my subscription. I’m still owed my March box which also had to be redeemed and the shipment is not yet commenced. So basically it looks like I have to open a new subscription to get the items from my previous subscription. If it comes to this I will most likely have to accept my losses. Also after this review. I will most likely be blacklisted.

Thank you to all you lovely ladies for your thoughtful responses. So sorry that some of you haven’t even received orders from since June! That is just NUTS! I had purchased a 3-month sub based off of the reviews I had seen on this site. I am definitely not going to renew once the 3 months are up!

Gawssakes this trivet is fugly. The 1970s look was bad in the 1970s and it’s bad now LOL!

Wow! I ordered two boxes from Globein in August and I haven’t received a single one yet….if my memory serves me correct; this box is one of the choices for September and here it is not even 10 days into September and it is up for review……I guess I have to have a large social media presence to get my boxes on time.

So glad I read this! I was about to subscribe but don’t want to deal with this frustration. Thanks Ladies.

Anita, I am in the same boat! And I did contact Globein, they are useless. They sent me a video explaining how shipping works, like I haven’t been a subscriber for the last 6 months. You are right about social media presence… All the IG influencers have their boxes already.

Anita, I would definitely contact GlobeIn. I tried to be patient and just wait for my order. I emailed at the end of the ordering month (May) and was told to expect the order in the first half of June. Toward the end of the next month (May order, emailed second half of June) I was told that my order wasn’t processed correctly and I would have to be refunded. Which I promptly was, to the company’s credit.

Hi Anita! GlobeIn sends us these for review. I sadly don’t have much control over the timing of deliveries. Sometimes they are early, sometimes later, but its always a surprise! We like to try and get the reviews up as soon as we can so readers can see if they want to snag a box or not for whatever month is up. I would def reach out to GlobeIn regarding the status of your shipments and I hope they arrive to you soon!
