Animal Trackers Club Review - September 2020

Before we get started on the contents of this shipment, I wanted to highlight a few items that we received in our Introductory Box that we also used for this month:

Please note the following items did NOT come in this box:

Animal Trackers Lunchbox

We received this cute tin lunchbox featuring Bode Bear and the Animal Trackers logo which is perfect for storing all of our animal gear each month as we collect it. It will also double as a place to play with our animal magnets!

Animal Tracks Card Ring

This is our Animal Tracks card ring. Each month we will receive an animal photo and track card that we can add to this ring as we discover new animals.

Animal Coloring Card

This animal coloring card will be used to track which animals we've already explored and which are still to come!

Now let's see what we received this month!

My son was so excited to see which animal he received this month.

This month we received a great colored photograph of a Nile crocodile to add to our Animal Tracks ring. It is printed on thicker cardstock and has a hole at the top corner for us to easily add it.

My son added his newest card to the ring.

We received this intimidating crocodile magnet for him to add to his lunchbox.

He loves to add more to his collection.

The crocodile figure he received is very detailed and the quality is great. I personally love the size of these toys they aren't small enough that you're always misplacing (or stepping on them), but they are also small enough to fit in any bin, basket, or box for cleanup.

They always include a fun foam animal mask for us.

These are something the kids always have fun with!

This is our crocodile fact sheet. It has full-color images on the front with some sentences about them on the back. They include little pictures in the story so that the kids can help read, too!

Our activity this month was to build a crocodile using green plastic pieces that fit together. The instructions were clear and easy to read with the different sizes labeled for us.

There were three different sizes of these green rings.

First, we did some sorting and counting the pieces.

Then he got to work building his crocodile with a little help from me.

These little pieces were so fun to play with and they will make a great open-ended toy in addition to this cool crocodile.

He had some fun playing with his two crocodiles together.

This month we received two 'Crocodile Lunch' worksheets. The pages explored the concepts of greater than and less than and asked them to add a 'crocodile' mouth in between the two numbers after comparing them.

This is a new concept for both of my older children so I let each of them complete a worksheet. This was a fun way to teach them about greater and less than! My youngest wanted a worksheet to do as well, but he ended up adding the green circles to his pencil which I thought was a great fine motor activity for him!

Verdict: I really liked this month's Animal Trackers Club box! My son loves his crocodile, magnet, mask, and the collectible cards he received and he had a lot of fun with the crocodile building activity. I thought it was unique and I love that we have these little pieces to play with and explore in other ways. The worksheets were also great for teaching some new math concepts to the kids. This box was definitely worth the $16.95 ($13.95 + $3.00 shipping) for us this month!

To Wrap Up:

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
