July 2020 Super Chewer "World Chomps" Review
Each box arrives with an information card with details about the items included, as well as ideas on how to engage with your pup.
This month's theme is "World Chomps," which I'm sure was meant to go with the previously-scheduled summer Olympics! I would personally rather watch my furry best friend run and jump anyway, so let's see what's inside, shall we?
Duck Stick
Since we get two sticks every month, Archie and I are very familiar with these, but this is the first duck one I remember seeing! True to his hunting class roots, Archie seems to really love game meats. I love playing to the lab part of his background and try to think of training or tricks that are retriever-specific. One of my favorite commands is, "Take it nice!" or "Soft mouth!" I like doing these with him because even though I don't plan to take him on the hunt or anything, I think it polishes his manners and keeps him from snapping at fingers by mistake when offered food. I'll break this stick into little pieces for this exercise, just to make sure he's being really gentle.
Pork Stick
Archie also seems to be a big pork fan! While I tend to think the crunchy sticks are adorable to watch him chew, I do think he prefers the meaty, chewy ones, like this style. I used to think that the chewy ones would keep him busy a little longer, but sometimes when my boy is hungry (ahem, all the time), they don't seem to occupy him for quite as long as I would have expected. This month, I handed one over, and I heard him trot back downstairs pretty shortly afterward, empty-handed (or is it empty-snooted?). "Done already, Baby?" I asked. My sweet boy then burped in response! Question answered, I guess!

Burly Birdie
When I was little, my uncle and I would play an insane amount of badminton - it's one of my favorite games! This little birdie was an awesome trip down memory lane, and it was a lot of fun to stuff full of treats and give to Archie - at first. Ladies and gentlemen, we have our first toy that my sweet boy successfully annihilated! Now, many of the Super Chewer toys are meant to be destroyed, and as the tags always instruct, they're designed to be supervised at all times. You can sometimes see that they're built in layers, so that if they're destroyed in one layer, there's more toy underneath to be enjoyed. Super Chewer also totally stands behind their toys and will replace a toy if your pop completely mauls something; all you have to do is let them know! For this toy, Archie was at my feet while I was watching Netflix, and once I noticed that he was tearing off really big pieces of the toy, I took it away from him and distracted him with something else to take the edge off of his heartbreak.

Duck Treats
I was thrilled to see more duck in the mix of this box! It's so nice that I have a full supply of treats for him at all times; Archie doesn't get table scraps or human food, so I rely on treats intended for dogs in order to reward his behavior, train him, and keep him busy for longer with toys. These have a nice texture and don't have a weird smell, which is always welcome when it comes to any kind of dog product!

Swimming Pull Toy
I'm so biased, I know, but I swear Archie has the cutest little face! I swear, when the box first arrives, Archie knows exactly what it is, and that tail just doesn't stop wagging. I love when I show him these toys for the first time; he immediately sits like the goodest boy, and patiently waits to see what's in store for him for playtime. It took him a while to get the hang of this toy - he's not a big tug-of-war kinda pup, but he had a blast holding one end in his mouth and ferociously shaking his head around. The nylon rope didn't last too long within my baby's power jaws, but I definitely expected that; and once it broke apart, he then had two toys! I'd like to see if these float, to encourage him with more water sports.

Lamb Treats
Archie's regular food is lamb, so I like to keep lamb treats on hand, just to keep things consistent for him. We're really careful with his diet; like I said before, so I try to be consistent with ingredients, just to make sure his tummy stays happy. Thankfully, he seems to have a pretty ironclad digestive system, but still - since he can't talk (wouldn't that be awesome, though?), I like to err on the side of caution, and make sure he stays as comfy as can be!
Verdict: Another super-fun Super Chewer this month! I'm not going to lie, I am typically a winter Olympics kind of gal, but these fun toys and the treats made me more of a summer games fan. I really liked that this introduced Archie to more tug-of-war play, and having some more education of what the company can do when a toy is just super-duper destroyed was really helpful for me to know! Of course, Archie is still in heaven every time this box arrives - you know, dear readers, I don't know if he knows how good he really has it! He turned just turned two, so he's not my little baby anymore - he's considered an adult dog now. So my now-grown boy and I eagerly await for the next Super Chewer box!
