Laurel & Reed July 2020 Review

The first card is just a general L&R info card while the second has specific info about the items in brands included inside.

Earth Wise Beauty Nap in the Meadow Face Serum, 50 mL - Retail Value $90.00

Is it weird to call a serum charming? Because this serum is charming. It has a liquidy texture and a meadow green color. And the scent!!! It smells like grass and herbs and flowers, and just really awesome green and dirt-filled outdoorsy things. Inside this concoction is a blend of aloe, vitamin C, and loads of plant extracts and oils (hello blue chamomile!) which have anti-inflammatory and hydrating properties. This is the ideal sort of serum to stash in the fridge to prolong its shelf-life and add to the cooling effect it has on skin. It absorbs easily and is a great serum step after cleansing but before your moisturizer. Because there isn't any sort of exfoliant that would make you sun-sensitive inside, this is a great day serum!

Rosen Skincare Super Smoothie Cleanser, 4 fl oz - Retail Value $18.00

I sample and use a lot of cleansers. But this one feels special all to itself! It literally smells like a smoothie. Inside is raspberry powder, strawberry powder, lemon powder, and radish ferment! It is a very liquidy cleanser that looks like fresh jam on my face and I am totally into it. I don't think this would make a huge dent in super thick makeup, but for my normal/minimal look these days, it cleanses and refreshes my skin like a charm.

Nativa Atlas Virdis Antioxidant Toning Mist, 4 fl oz - Retail Value $54.00

Rounding out our box is this rather large bottle of toning mist. My only complaint here is the nozzle is a little aggressive, but I am willing to overlook that fact because inside this mist is an assortment of some of my favorite things: rose water, neroli flower essence, rosehip, olive, and radish root. It feels very farm fresh and has a great earthy and floral scent with a little tartness and garden dirt. Mmm!! Its also just a refreshing moisture boost for summery skin anytime you need a little pick-me-up.

The Verdict: This Laurel & Reed box felt like a skin-loving visit to the farmer's market. Seriously, everything smelled like fruits and greens and felt so fresh and perfect for summer. I loved all three items this month and plan on building a little facial just for my mom out of these because she also shares my love for anything plant-y and botanical. The value this month is also quite nice: $162.00! I am very impressed with this July delivery and can't wait to enjoy these items for the rest of summer.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Megan,

Is Msa ever going to review the new Yankee Candle box? There’s also the new Eloquii Unlimited, Beauty Knocks box from skin clique, AIA beauty bundle, INW Trading Co ? There’s a couple of other new boxes but I don’t want to type a book and chance my comment not posting.

Hey Anna! Yankee Candle is on my radar, as I am a candle addict. Some of these others are new to me! I will pass them along to the team and see what we can do! AIA looks especially fun, but you know I love skincare. Thanks for sharing them with me. ♥️

Megan, I think the RV of $162 is off. I’m adding up $122.

Sorry about that Ashley! The Meadow Serum has a retail value of $90, not $50. Thanks for the catch!

I bought this box for the Nap in the meadow, but ended up loving everything.

Me too. The mist is divine and I can’t resist a pillow or room spritz! Glad it is a larger bottle. Lol. And so true of the cleanser, really something special. In a way it reminds me of the Honua Pa’akai cleanser. Elegant and gentle with a little vavavoom.
