CURATEUR Fall 2020 Box FULL SPOILERS + Coupon!

Angie, same! I wanted to wear it yesterday & couldn’t get it unwrapped! I was using the tiniest scissors with itsy bitsy little cuts & unwrapping bit by bit so as not to touch the necklace. I’m not a patient person so I was dying! I only got a small section done before I had to abandon the effort & wear something else. I do appreciate the type of soft cushy plastic they used to make sure it arrived in perfect condition though, since it’s such a nice heavy necklace it could have easily gotten damaged in transit. Now I know to finish unwrapping it ahead of time so it’s ready to wear later!

I Think since they changed the month that your supposed to receive it, that once you decide not to get the winter subscription that you will not receive it.

I have only been with this sub since last spring. My kat gel didn’t ship with original box , and I was concerned they would forget to send it .I was determined to get it because I wanted it very much, it was the only other item I was wanting to try with the tote. I sent notes to customer service, and they did get around to answering me . It was shipped by itself. Are you an annual or a season? I’m an annual , and would suggest you email them on instant messenger.be persistent, do it on a public one so they have to respond ,because they want to preserve their image. I hope this helps you

If they don’t send it to people who only signed up for one season (likely me!), I swear I’ll file an FTC complaint. That would be criminal (but based off others’ comments, I don’t think I’d put it past them!).

They just dropped 3 more hints this am and said full reveal would be next week. Must be having another prob with receiving merchandise. Because once again their a week behind reveal first week of month .crazy bit oh well two more boxes to go and they can help their stuff. I’m just trying to get what I paid for at least.

According to their schedule customization is first week of Nov . I asked if they could tell us when spoilers would start . Soon very soon . The usual answer .I would say we should be seeing them this week. But that’s only my guess and last box was phostphoned aweek to customize because of covid .

Yup but just got mine yesterday. Was able to contact them by email and get a response. They told me last week all are going out by Friday (last Friday)

I was charged twice for this box and have had no response from customer service in a week! I just reached out to Rachel Zoe customer service to see if they can help. We’ll see! I will Def be cancelling and they better not charge me next box! This is BS! Not worth the headache and lack of customer care

Megan models the bag and jewelry in her reviews also. Maybe you wrote this comment before seeing the most recent review? But Megan has always done that, so maybe you just haven’t seen any of the Box of Style reviews that Megan has done? You can definitely find them on this site if you want to see them.

I always did well reselling Rachel Zoe items on eBay. I’d sell one or two items and it would pay for the entire box (I’d buy on sale at $50-$70).

I contacted BOS via Instagram to clarify the vermeil question and they replied that it’s “12K gold vermeil over stainless steel”. That’s verbatim what they said.

Question what the difference? I know the sterling silver is better value and quality but if it’s gold plated you won’t see the silver anyways right? I’m sorry if this sounds like a silly question I’m genuinely curious of the differences? Is it just about the overall value or is the quality? You guys seem like you know your jewelry/metals so I was hoping you could help me understand. If it’s not sterling will it wear out/tarnish sooner?? 💗

Agreed. Gold vermeil should always be made with silver as the main metal used to create the core. Otherwise, the piece cannot be sold as vermeil. Looking at the Eddie Borgo site, they have a 30” Supra necklace that is 30.25” that retails for $495 so a $350 RV on the 18” necklace in this box would be consistent with a true vermeil piece with a solid silver core. I’m hoping MSA just made a mistake!!! I love this necklace and the length.

I’m inerested in purchasing the jewelry (necklace and ear rings) if you are interested in selling. I think this would be a perfect travel set – that you would not have to worry about being lost or stolen.

Before BOS was sold, I really loved the box. I actually loved that every box had a “hero” item. And Rachel would unbox it with a friend in a video and explain the curation of the box. It was great. Those were the days.

After a while, the box started to go downhill. I hung in there hoping that things would work themselves out. But I kept seeing things that bothered me. Like the time they featured a “beach towel” that was a closeout from a 2015 home line that was being discounted all over the internet at drastically cheap prices. And on top of it, even inflated the original price. The towel they included in the box was the dimension of the brand’s “bath sheet”, not the beach towel. (a retail price difference of about $50 ($170 vs $220, if I recall, though I might be a little off). Then they started featuring the same makeup items that other, much less expensive sub boxes were featuring in their add-on sales and Saks off 5th, like the KOSAS duo, and listing the original retail to inflate the value of the box, as well. And also all of the “collaborations” that remind me of retail outlet manufacturing (purses without lining, designs produced with cheaper fabric etc). Makes me sad. I get it that they are trying to maximize profit, and maybe they couldn’t stay in business without making these changes, but now BOS is just another sub box. Because of COVID, I had to tighten the financial belt and so I cancelled one of my sub boxes. Back in 2017, BOS would have been the one I hung onto. But it is 2020, and I am far more excited about my other sub box at half the price. So, I had to say bye bye to my first love, Box of Style. I hope things turn around for this box. It used to be SOOO good. I will keep an eye out and maybe resub again in the future.

I agree! I would gladly — gladly!! — forgo the “expensive” jewelry or do with three items in my box instead of five in exchange for some finer leather bags. I actually like this tote, but I am rough on my bags and “vegan leather” (uhhhh… it’s basically softer pleather) bags do not hold up and they definitely don’t feel as luxurious. For the cost of this box, I could’ve gotten a really nice leather bag in on of my other boxes add-on sales.

I agree. The tote is an emotional rollercoaster for me. Initially I loved it, then I decided the stitching looked meh, and now I think I’m liking it again. For a box that is now saying it’s committed to sustainablility they might want to re-think vinyl and maybe give us something that is made of recycled materials or natural though. I mean, essentially, this is an item that will not last as long as something that isn’t a petroleum product, and it does contribute to the “fast fashion” thing.

I love the necklace. I think it is very on trend and I love the earrings but I might not be able to wear them because of the weight. (I don’t want to be the lady with the 1 inch earlobes when I’m 80). So overall I do like the items and I will use the items, but I will wait for a sale! I’m thinking Labor Day is a good bet for a bonus or discount.

I think these boxes could easily get a leather bag for a reasonable price on their end. The jewelry I can’t speak to, but I mentioned up thread there are other boxes I subscribe to that have leather bags offered in the add-on sales for a serious discount. The issue here to me is the branding. BOS lauded itself has a luxury box and I think Curateur is trying to one up that, which I am totally fine with. But then… be luxury. Give us something luxurious. A giant gold-plated stainless steel necklace and a pleather bag isn’t it.

As an aside, I love the color and shape of the bag but am very disappointed it’s basically pleather.

Rachel’s box has previously featured gold-plated sterling silver (instead of steel) with chip diamonds (Winter 2019) and real leather purses (Summer 2015, Spring 2016, Fall 2019). It absolutely can be done, but it likely means a lower profit margin per box. I still wish the La Soula rings in 2017 had been solid gold or at least gold over silver, and would have been willing to pay a bit more for that, TBH.

Then you must be getting too many appetizers?. There’s a way to make a $75 box thats on a regular basis $100…..With atleast Sterling Silver studs or even a ring & Top Notch Stiching on a “Vegan” aka Pleather! Bag. Maybe use a different type of material if you don’t want to take the skin of a cow were gonna end up eating anyway to make a good bag within a box your spending in some cases 1/3 of someone’s paycheck to buy

Some people are ridiculous in what they expect in a subscription box that most can get for $75 or lower.

I am loving everything in this box and I like her pantsuit too.
